The song was written and composed by Michael as a duet with Siedah Garrett, after Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand both turned down the opportunity to record the song with Michael.

Siedah was unaware Quincy Jones wanted her to record the song as a duet with Michael, until she turned up for the actual recording session.

Hollywood Tonight CD-Single CoverHollywood Tonight

'Hollywood Tonight' is the second single from the album 'Michael', released in the EU on the record label Epic/Sony on March 31st, 2011.

The song was written by Michael Jackson during the time of the 'Invincible' album. Michael pulled the track out of the archives in 2007 to work on the song with producer Theron "Neff-U" Feemster. Jackson first put down a sketch of the lyrics in 1999, then he began working out the music with longtime friend and collaborator, Brad Buxer, who co-wrote the song. Over the next ten years, Jackson returned to the track numerous times.

Jackson and Brad Buxer continued tinkering with it in Las Vegas in 2007. In October 2008, when Jackson lived in Los Angeles, he asked recording engineer Michael Prince to put the latest mix of the song on CD so he could listen to it and see what might be improved, but he never got around to working on it again.

Teddy Riley co-produced the song along with Theron "Neff-U" Feemster following Jackson's death. Riley also wrote a new bridge, performed by Taryll Jackson, that included different lyrics than those left by Jackson. The spoken parts were performed by Jackson's nephew, Taryll Jackson and written by Teddy Riley.

The cd-single contains 2 remixes of 'Hollywood Tonight' made by Dave Pensado, Drew Adams and DJ Chuckie.

My cd- single is printed in the EU with the series number: 88697902982.

The Girl Is Mine 2008 with will-i-am CD-Single CoverThe Girl Is Mine 2008 with will-i-am

'The Girl Is Mine 2008 with will-i-am' written by Michael Jackson, produced by Quincy Jones and co-produced by Michael Jackson. First single lifted from the 'Thriller 25' album in many countries, including the UK on February 4th, 2008 through Epic/Legacy Records.

For 'Thriller 25', an album celebrating Thriller's 25th anniversary, Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am remixed 'The Girl Is Mine'. Entitled 'The Girl Is Mine 2008', the remix featured an original solo demo of the song by Jackson, before he had recorded the duet with McCartney. Will.i.am added his own vocals and new verse. Though the remix sampled the demo.

The Daily Telegraph alleged that McCartney was omitted because he and Jackson had fallen out over the latter's purchase of Sony/ATV Music Publishing and the Beatles' song catalogue in 1985. Despite the allegation, the original version of 'The Girl Is Mine' was included on the album, with McCartney's vocals included.

The song was about two men fighting over the love of one woman, each claiming that he can love the woman better than the other. It leads into a spoken debate near the end of the song by the two singers with Jackson giving his now famous line: "Paul, I think I told you, I'm a lover, not a fighter."
