Skywriter (Bronze Vinyl - Limited Edition) [re-issue] Album CoverSkywriter (Bronze Vinyl - Limited Edition) [re-issue]

The album 'Skywriter' of the Jackson Five was reissued under the Motown label in Europe on June 14th, 2019 in bronze vinyl. This reissue is announced as a limited edition of 1000 copies. The album has the original album art outer jacket with a inner printed sleeve and the bronze vinyl has the original label art.

'Skywriter' was for the first time released on March 29th, 1973 in the USA and in the United Kingdom the album was released during July 1973 by Tamla Motown.

Lead singer Michael's vocals were now showing the signs of his maturing tenor voice, while Jermaine's voice had gotten much deeper in tone. Notably, one of 'Skywriter's' songs, 'Touch' (originally recorded by the Supremes in 1971), features Michael and Jermaine singing about satisfying a woman in the bed. As such, 'Touch' was one of the most controversial singles Michael sung on until his solo career took off again in the 1980's.

Moving Violation (Yellow Vinyl - Limited Edition) [re-issue] Album CoverMoving Violation (Yellow Vinyl - Limited Edition) [re-issue]

The album 'Moving Violation' of the Jackson Five was reissued under the Motown label in the USA on September 21th, 2018 in yellow vinyl. This reissue is announced as a limited edition of 2000 copies. The album has the original album art outer jacket with a inner printed sleeve and the yellow vinyl has the original label art.

The album was for the first time released in on May 15th, 1975 in the USA and in the United Kingdom, 'Moving Violation' was released during July 1975 by Tamla Motown.

By the end of their six-year run in Motown, all five Jackson brothers had matured dramatically in both age and vocals: youngest member Michael was, at 16, the only non-adult in the group. With the boys now becoming men, it was difficult for the group to deal with Motown's policies against writing and producing their own material.

Like 'Dancing Machine' before it, 'Moving Violation' was an early-disco album. The group's funk-based version of Diana Ross & the Supremes 1968 single 'Forever Came Today' was a club hit, while the single's b-side, the R&B ballad 'All I Do Is Think Of You', became a popular and frequently covered song in its own right.

Moving Violation (Yellow Vinyl - Limited Edition) [re-issue] AlbumThe Jackson 5 closed out their celebrated Motown tenure with 'Moving Violation', a slight if intermittently engaging LP buoyed, as always, by the brothers remarkable vocals.

All songs produced by Brian Holland, Mel Larsen, Jerry Marcellino & Hal Davis.

Beginning Years 1967-1968 Album CoverBeginning Years 1967-1968

The album 'Beginning Years 1967-1968' of The Jackson 5 And Johnny Featuring Michael Jackson was released in the USA in 1989 by S.D.E.G Records.

This recording features a very young (pre-Motown) Michael Jackson with his brothers performing a dozen classic Soul/R&B tunes with a very recognizable hint of their future success included the group's first two singles, 'Big Boy' and 'We Don't Have To Be Over 21', and their B-sides all songs over-dubbed.

Producer Gordon Keith — the owner of Steeltown Records signed the children to a limited record deal. Michael Jackson sang lead vocals on the track and the brothers with cousin Johnny produced much of the material themselves.

The vinyl included a letter from Gordon Keith on the back side, Gordon who had recorded them at Steeltown, condemning the Jackson 5 for not getting the credit he was due and for asking for some sort of volunteer donation for his help.

Drummer Johnny Jackson was not a blood relative of the Jackson 5 but often referred to as their 'cousin' who was present for their earliest Steeltown recordings in Gary, Indiana. When the Jackson family moved to Los Angeles, he went with them, was signed along with them to Motown and was on their earliest recordings for that label.

My album is printed in the USA with the series number: SDE 4018.

Track list:

Live! (Live in Japan 1973) Album CoverLive! (Live in Japan 1973)

This album was been released in Germany on September 12th, 1988 by Motown and taken up in 1973. Where it is been taken up isn't mentioned on the cover, but suspect that it is in Japan, because of the few words which the J5 are telling in the local language.

The Jackson 5 'In Japan!' album was for the first time released in December 1973 in Japan on the Tamla Motown label.

Michael, Jermaine, Marlon, Tito and Jackie turn in a solid performance of their own material, including a medley of 'I Want You Back', 'ABC' and 'The Love You Save', plus solo hits from Michael and Jermaine.

What attract the most is that you can hear only Michael in stereo, his brothers and the music are divided over left and right. It's a nice album, also because you can hear how such a concert of the Jackson 5 was. Concert recorded at the Osaka Koseinenkin Hall, Japan, on April 30th, 1973.

My album is printed in Germany with the series number: WL 72641.

Track list:

'14 Greatest Hits' collectors edition picture disc album with free Motown "Glitter Glove" and bonus poster by The Jackson 5 was released in the USA on May 24th, 1984 through Motown. Front is a (horrid) "cartoon drawing" of the J5, while the back features a nice pose of the group.

Joyful Jukebox Music (re-issue) Album CoverJoyful Jukebox Music (re-issue)

Although technically credited to "The Jackson Five featuring Michael Jackson," 'Joyful Jukebox Music' was actually issued after the quintet split from Motown, their home for five years and a total of 11 long-players. The album was released on October 26th, 1976 in the USA by Motown.

In the United Kingdom, 'Joyful Jukebox Music' was released in December 1976 by Motown.

This album you see is the re-issue that was released in May 1984.

To capitalise on the publicity for The Jacksons' imminent first new release for CBS Records, Motown Records released a full album of previously unreleased music. This will be the first of many and will set Motown's strategy for years to come.

One primary correlation connecting tracks on this collection to those aforementioned LP's and many of the band's earlier successes is the involvement of Freddie Perren (keyboard) and Fonce Mizell (keyboards). The pair were part of the Corporation, Motown's team of producers, musicians and composers whose elite membership also consisted of Bobby Taylor, Deke Richards (guitar) and the label's co-founder Berry Gordy.

All songs produced by Freddie Perren, Fonce Mizell, Mel Larsen, Tom Bee & Hal Davis, Michael Edward Campbell, Jerry Marcellino and Sam Brown III.

Get It Together (re-issue) Album CoverGet It Together (re-issue)

'G.I.T'.: 'Get It Together' is the ninth album by The Jackson 5; and first album to feature Michael Jackson's noticeable growth spurt, the album was released in the USA on September 12th,1973 through Motown.

In the United Kingdom, 'Get It Together' was released during November 1973 by Tamla Motown but failed to chart.

This album you see is the re-issue that was released in May 1984 through Motown.

Now 15-years-old, his voice began to deepen, taking on a more soulful sound. With Michael's voice having changed, the overall sound of the group changed as well. The little boys were now becoming adults, and those high notes that only Michael could hit were retired.

The album was a breakaway from the group's bubblegum soul sound as they came up with a more funk-oriented album similar to The Temptations Norman Whitfield-produced albums. Whitfield in fact provides covers of two of his Temptations songs here, 'You Need Love Like I Do (Don't You)', and 'Hum Along And Dance'. The Jackson 5's cover of the latter song, an eight-minute album-closer, is today regarded as the most notable version of the song. 'Get It Together' was also one of the earliest disco albums, released at a time before the genre was mainstream.

All songs produced by Hal Davis.
