2300 Jackson Street Album Cover2300 Jackson Street

'2300 Jackson Street' is the final studio album released by American Pop/R&B group The Jacksons, and their final album for record label Epic, released in the United States on June 23th, 1989.

For most of this album, The Jacksons consisted of Jermaine, Jackie, Randy, and Tito Jackson. Michael Jackson and Marlon Jackson appear only on the title track, along with their sisters, Rebbie and Janet (middle sister LaToya was, at the time of this album, estranged from the family and therefore does not appear on the song).

The Jacksons co-produced four tracks with Attala Zane Giles, three songs were produced by Michael Omartian (one co-produced by The Jacksons), while 'Maria' was produced by Jermaine Jackson.

The Jacksons formally disbanded after its release, with Jermaine returning to his solo career, and Randy, Tito, and Jackie going on to become session musicians.

All songs produced by The Jacksons, L.A. Reid & Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, Teddy Riley & Gene Griffin and Michael Omartian.

Victory (with a pigeon on Randy's shoulder) Album CoverVictory (with a pigeon on Randy's shoulder)

'Victory' is a Grammy-nominated 1984 album by The Jacksons on Epic Records, the sixth album was released on July 6th, 1984 in the UK. It was the only album to include all six Jackson brothers together as an official group.

This is the 'Victory' album housed in a gatefold picture sleeve with the dove on Randy's shoulder. The album cover art was commissioned from famed illustrator Michael Whelan.

After all, this special album is the same as the normal one but for real collectors it’s something that is important to have.

'Victory' was supported by the 'Victory Tour', with lead singer Michael Jackson, who had recently released the world's all-time best-selling album, 'Thriller', prominently featured. Shortly after the tour ended, Michael and Marlon Jackson quit the band.

After a successful reunion on the 'Motown 25 television special' in 1983, Jermaine Jackson decided to return to the group, having left Motown after nine years as a full-fledged soloist. His brothers had left Motown in 1975. The brothers rarely worked together on the album; it was mainly composed of solo songs the brothers had each worked on during that time. While each brother has at least one solo track, Jermaine only appears on 'Torture', a duet with Michael, performs ad-libs with Michael on 'Wait' and is additionally named as a background vocalist on 'One More Chance' and 'The Hurt'.
Tensions reportedly grew between the brothers during the recording sessions; as a result, little publicity photography was done.

All songs produced by The Jacksons, Steve Porcaro & David Paich.

My album is printed in Holland with the series number: EPC 450450 1.

Destiny Album CoverDestiny

'Destiny' is the third album released by American band The Jacksons on Epic Records on December 17th, 1978 in the UK. The album housed in a gatefold picture sleeve.

The album's lead single, 'Blame It On The Boogie', was written by Mick Jackson, an English writer/performer who had his own version of the song in the UK charts at the same time as the Jacksons. It was the Jacksons' version, however, that was the more successful and is consequently the best known rendition of the song.

'Destiny' re-established them as a top-selling group. The album's success was largely based on the second single released from the album, 'Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)', which became a Top 10 single in the spring of 1979. The single, 'Blame It On The Boogie', was also released. The album went on to platinum status cementing it as the first RIAA-certified platinum seller by the Jacksons as most of their Motown recordings were un certifiable despite their huge success on the charts.

All songs produced by Bobby Colomby and Mike Atkinson.

My album is printed in Holland with the series number: EPC 83200.

The Jacksons Album CoverThe Jacksons

'The Jacksons' is the first album released by The Jacksons for Epic/CBS Records on November 27th, 1976 in the UK under the Philadelphia International label. The album was the band's first for CBS, following their seven-year tenure on Motown as "The Jackson 5". Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson stayed with Motown when his brothers broke their contracts and defected to CBS; he was replaced by youngest Jackson brother Randy.

Philadelphia International heads Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff produced and executive produced the album, including their first top ten hit in 2 years 'Enjoy Yourself', but had a difficult time focusing on a sound for the now-grown-up boy band. However, the group was able for the first time to write their own material, something that had been denied to them at Motown. The Jacksons composed 'Style Of Life' and 'Blues Away' on their own. 'Blues Away' was the first published song written by lead singer Michael Jackson, who began to take a more percussive vocal approach beginning with this album. This album also spawned the second R&B single 'Show You The Way to Go'.

The album was the Jacksons first gold album, despite their having sold more than 10 million albums while at Motown. (Motown's sales and financial records were never presented for auditing by the RIAA until 1976).

All songs produced by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff.
