Michael JacksonMichael Jackson Pulls Video. 29-11-'03

Michael Jackson infuriated British TV producers when he refused to let them screen his latest video - moments before the show was broadcast.

BBC ONE's all new Top of the Pops was hoping the play the video to 'One More Chance' in the first edition of it's updated format on Friday (November 28), but Jackson's record company Sony suddenly decided the tape was not ready to air.

A BBC spokesman says, "It's a real shame. It sounds like they're not entirely happy with it and want to do some more work on it."

A Sony spokesman adds, "It isn't finished yet, so they can't show it - it's as simple as that."

The hour long show still went ahead, and welcomed performances from artists including Kylie Minogue and SIR Elton John.

Microphones Found At Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office. 29-11-'03

Sheriff's officials said several wireless microphones discovered outside their headquarters could be the latest of several attempts by journalists to surreptitiously get information on the Michael Jackson molestation case.

The devices were found in a brushy area where Sheriff's Department employees frequently take breaks and where reporters are not normally allowed. Officials did not say when they discovered the microphones.

"It is being interpreted by the department as an attempt by somebody within the media to garner information that otherwise would not be available," Sgt. Chris Pappas of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department, said Saturday (November 27).

Hundreds of reporters and photographers converged on the Sheriff's Department on Nov. 20, when Jackson was booked at a nearby jail on suspicion of sexually molesting a child under 14.

The entertainer, who is free on $3 million bail, has maintained his innocence. Authorities say he probably won't be charged until after Dec. 15.

Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office
Originally founded in 1850, the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office is the oldest law enforcement agency in the state.

A man claiming to be a news and photo agency reporter was arrested Nov. 20 after Jackson's security staff found him aboard the entertainer's private plane while Jackson was surrendering to authorities.

Last week, Jackson and his lawyer learned they were secretly videotaped by a camera hidden aboard the plane when Jackson traveled from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara to turn himself in. The discovery triggered an FBI investigation and a lawsuit by Jackson against the charter jet company.

Jackson Unlikely To Hire Johnnie Cochran Again. 28-11-'03

Michael Jackson is unlikely to employ the services of top lawyer Johnnie Cochran again - because one of his employees is representing the boy who has accused the singer of molesting him.

Jackson hired Cochran - famed for successfully defending OJ Simpson during his high-profile murder trial last decade - to represent him when 13-year-old Jordy Chandler accused him of molestation in 1993. The case was eventually settled out of court.

But Larry Feldman - who is representing 12-year-old Gavin Arvizo in the Jackson case - now works for Cochran, meaning it's highly unlikely he will help Jackson answer the new charges of child molestation levelled against him.

Feldman worked against Cochran as prosecutor in the 1993 Chandler case.

Jackson, who was arrested and released on bail last week (November 20), denies all charges.

Johnnie Cochran
Johnnie Cochran has been a lawyer for almost forty years, In 1993, Cochran represented Michael Jackson to defend him from allegations of child molestation. No criminal charges were filed by the police, but a civil suit filed against Jackson by the father of the child making the allegations was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

Michael JacksonJackson Held In Women's Cell. 27-11-'03

Michael Jackson was held in a women's cell after being charged with child molestation last week (November 20), according to another inmate at California's Santa Barbara County Jail.

Drug convict Valentino Ziliotto claims Jackson smiled and waved and was cheered by inmates as he was booked by officers.

Valentino says, "They had him with his hands against the wall and they patted him down.

"They took him to where you get your fingerprints and mugshot taken. We all cheered him on.

"He went into the women's holding cell. He was smiling and flashing a peace sign. He was having a good time."

The singer, accused of molesting 12-year-old cancer-suffered Gavin Arvizo, was released on $3 million (GBP1.75 million) bail.

One More Chance CD-Single CoverJackson Pulled Off The Air In Britain. 27-11-'03

Michael Jackson's new single has been banned by 19 British radio stations, after his arrest on child molestation charges.

Seminal BBC TV chart show Top Of The Pops will still broadcast Jackson's video when it airs tomorrow (November 28) but the corporation's leading radio channel BBC RADIO ONE has stopped playing new track 'One More Chance'.

A spokesperson for Radio One yesterday (November 26) insisted the move was based on music, "Jackson's not as relevant to our young audience as he once was. It is not about his personal life."

But other UK stations were happy to admit they banned him because of the scandal.

A spokesperson for media company EMAP, who own 18 regional stations nationwide, says, "We have had some complaints, so we have decided to take him off air."

Jackson is currently on bail after being arrested and charged with molesting 12-year-old Gavin Arvizo last week..

Gardner Street Elementary SchoolHollywood School Paints Over Jackson's Name. 26-11-'03

Accusations of child molestation against Michael Jackson have prompted officials at the Hollywood grade school he once attended to cover up a tribute to the troubled pop star.

Heads at the Gardner Street Elementary School have covered up the 45-year-old 'Bad' singer's name on one of its auditoriums, following Jackson's arrest last week for allegedly molesting 12-year-old cancer sufferer Gavin Arvizo.

The large letters reading 'Michael Jackson Auditorium' once adorned the building at the school, where Jackson attended for several months when he was 11.

But parents had complained about Jackson's name being used on school property, prompting officials decided to paint over the name and cover it with a plywood box.

All that's now visible is the word auditorium.

XtraJetMichael Jackson Wins Court Order On Illegal Videotape. 26-11-'03

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Yaffe granted Michael Jackson a court order against the aircraft company XtraJet, which was attempting to sell a surreptitious videotape of Michael and his attorney to the highest media bidder.

"The videotaping of my client conferring with me was illegal and outrageous, as was the aircraft company's attempt to sell that tape for profit," said Mark Geragos, Michael's attorney. "This entire case is about cash, and anyone who believes differently is living in their own Neverland. We will be absolutely relentless in our pursuit of any and all extortionists regardless of how they try to gift wrap their lies in the cloak of justice. Michael is not going to be a piñata for every money-hungry publicity seeker to strike in the hopes of hitting it rich."

The videotape was made on November 20th while Michael and his attorney flew from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara for the singer's processing on criminal charges. The judge's ruling prohibits XtraJet from releasing the tape until a hearing next month where a permanent prohibition will be sought.

Anyone watching this case can see that new lows are being hit every day. Motivated parties are taking obscene measures to injure Michael with false allegations. We will aggressively challenge the rogue's gallery of grifters who are seeking dividends from Michael's ordeal. There is a very real, human price being exacted here, and Michael will do what it takes to safeguard his family and his name.

Tom SneddonTom Sneddon Apologizes. 26-11-'03

Santa Barbara district attorney Tom Sneddon has finally apologized for the joking and comments he made at last weeks news conference regarding Michael Jackson. He responded to criticism after he acted hugely unprofessionally by joking at last Tuesday's (November 25) news conference.

Sneddon told CNN's Art Harris in an Interview: "There were certain instances where I used humor to deflect questions, and I guess some reporters took offense. I think the criticism was valid, I think that to some extent [the comment] was inappropriate," he said. "I feel bad about it because I think I should've known better. I feel bad about it because somebody would assume that I'm making light of a thing where I know there's a serious crime, and that there are victims that have been hurt, and family."

At the conference he referred to a glib comment, by welcoming the media circus surrounding the Jackson case because it would put money into the struggling California economy.

That's not the only apology he made. He also apologized for an interview which took place on November 20 with Diane Dimond defending allegations that he was merely targeting Michael Jackson to advance his career, in which he referred to Jackson as "a guy everybody calls 'Jacko Wacko.'" He said,

"I made reference to Mr. Jackson in some terms that are slang or jargon terms. I knew as soon as I said it , it was inappropriate, it was unprofessional [and] I was immediately sorry for it. My wife, when she saw the interview, chided me on it, and in all candor I'd have to say that if my mom was still alive she would take me to task for not being a good person, and I do feel badly for making that remark. I got more important things going on in my life than to listen to a song by a guy everybody calls 'Jacko Wacko,' said Sneddon. "I have my life and I do my job, and anybody who thinks I've spent 10 years sitting here waiting to read [lyrics] from Michael Jackson just has not got a clue. Or anybody who thinks that I'm doing this for political reasons is totally poppycock because I'm not running for re-election. I'm retiring in three years. And I've been successful, I have a good career. I'm not worried about getting another notch on my belt. The idea that I would subject myself to what I knew was coming, or the sheriff would subject himself, or that anybody in my office, to this avalanche of scrutiny that we all knew coming because we saw it in '93 and '94, should tell people something about why we were willing to go forward. It's our job, it's simply that."

Mark GeragosAttorney Mark Geragos Defying Press Conference!!!! 26-11-'03

Michael Jackson's lawyer says child molestation accusations against the pop star are driven by greed and has threatened a "legal torrent" against anyone who besmirches Jackson's reputation.

"If anybody doesn't think ... that the true motivation of these charges and allegations is anything but money and the seeking of money then they are living in their own Neverland," attorney Mark Geragos said on Tuesday (November 25) , in reference to Jackson's Neverland Valley Ranch near Santa Barbara in Central California.

Geragos also said Jackson sued the owners of a private jet that last week brought him to Santa Barbara to be arrested and fingerprinted by police -- claiming that someone with the XtraJet company had planted video cameras on the plane and then tried to sell the tapes to news organisations.

As Geragos spoke, prosecutors announced that they would not file formal charges against the onetime King of Pop until mid-December because they needed time to create a website where the documents could be posted online.

Jackson flew from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara last Thursday just long enough to be arrested on suspicion of molesting a young boy, before posting $3 million (1.7 million pounds) bail and leaving town again. Earlier in the week, police spent more than 14 hours searching Neverland for evidence.

Geragos took no questions from reporters and directed his remarks almost entirely at those who, he said, were trying to profit from Jackson's misfortune.

"Michael Jackson is not going to be abused. Michael Jackson is not going to be slammed, is not going to be a pinata for every person who has financial motives," he said.

"We will land on you like a ton of bricks," Geragos said. "We will land on you like a hammer if you do anything to besmirch this man's reputation, anything to intrude on his privacy in any way that is actionable. We will unleash a legal torrent like you have never seen."

The high-profile lawyer said Jackson had obtained a temporary restraining order against XtraJet which prohibited it from showing, distributing or selling the videotape.

"We will put XtraJet out of business for this outrageous act," he said. "Michael Jackson is no longer going to be on the receiving end of every scurrilous accusation known to man."

Representatives for XtraJet declined to comment on the lawsuit and restraining order.

Lawyer: The Mother Of Jackson's Accuser Never Mentioned Abuse. 25-11-'03

Michael Manning
Lawyer: Michael Manning

The mother of the boy who's accused Michael Jackson of molesting him had nothing but praise for the singer - according to her lawyer.

Attorney Michael Manning - who still represents Janet Arvizo over her pending divorce - insists his client only had positive things to say about the superstar, and she continued to speak highly of him this year.

He says, "'He was really good to us' - that's what she said at the time. She said nothing bad. If it turned sour, I don't know how."

Manning added that 12-year-old Gavin Arvizo and his family barely mentioned their trips to Jackson's Neverland Ranch home in Santa Barbara, California, saying, "They didn't brag about it. They weren't star crazy."

Authorities have announced they expect to file formal charges against Jackson, who was arrested last week (November 20), soon after America's Thanksgiving Day.

Redemption Book Cover'Redemption': New Book Detailing. 24-11-'03

Geraldine Hughes, the former secretary of Barry Rothman (Accusers lawyer) decides to go public about the conspiracy behind the allegations against Michael Jackson in 1993.

The book, entitled: 'Redemption: The Truth Behind the Michael Jackson Child Molestation Allegations', includes details of the events that took place that prove "beyond a shadow of doubt" Michael's innocence.

When discussing with MJNI, Geraldine Hughes states: "As far as the book, I am revealing facts that has never come to the public's attention which will prove Michael Jackson's innocence beyond a shadow of doubt. If Sneddon was really searching for the truth in this case in 1993, how did the sole secretary of Barry Rothman go completely unnoticed? Geraldine then goes on to say, "The book was originally called 'The Set-Up.' It is now called 'Redemption....'."

The book has been in the making since 1997, and is due for a January 2004 release.

The author also had these kind words for Michael's fans, "To all the fans of Michael Jackson I would say God has had his hands on Michael's life all along." She goes on to say, "After researching Michael's life, and learning how many people and children Michael has helped in his life and time, its no wonder why God gave Michael a ram in the bush. God never promises that we won't go through trials and tribulations, he just promises us that if we go through the fire with a right heart, we will come out as pure gold."

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson Statement. 24-11-'03

To my fans, friends and family:
As you know, the charges recently directed at me are terribly serious. They are, however, predicated on a big lie. This will be shown in court, and we will be able to put this horrible time behind us.

Because the charges are so serious, I hope you all will understand, on the advice of my attorneys, I will be limited in what I can say about the situation. There will be times when I cannot comment at all. No doubt, this will be frustrating for all of us.

For that reason, I have set up this website to serve as a source of official communications on my case. Any statement that does not appear on this website must be considered unauthorized.

You are right to be skeptical of some of the individuals who are being identified in the mass media as my friends, spokespeople, and attorneys. With few exceptions, most of them are simply filling a desperate void in our culture that equates visibility with insight. We will not engage in speculation. We will not provide running commentary on every new development or allegation du jour. We intend to try our case in the courtroom, not in the public or the media.

I thank you all for your support and understanding.

God bless you,
Michael Jackson

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson Launches New Web Site. 24-11-'03

Michael Jackson, addressing his fans directly via a new website called MJ News, says the child molestation allegations made against him are "predicated on a big lie" and he will be exonerated in court.

The entertainer's spokesman, Stuart Backerman, had said last week that Jackson was putting the site together so he could communicate with the news media and fans. Jackson said in his statement that it would serve as a source for "official communications on my case."

"As you know, the charges recently directed at me are terribly serious," Jackson said in the six-paragraph statement. "They are, however, predicated on a big lie. This will be shown in court, and we will be able to put this horrible time behind us."

Jackson surrendered to Santa Barbara County authorities on Thursday (November 20) after an arrest warrant was issued alleging he committed lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.

He was released on $3 million bail. Authorities have said they expect to file formal charges sometime after Thanksgiving.

Jackson said his attorneys have advised him to say little about the matter until it is resolved.

"No doubt, this will be frustrating for all of us," he added.

He also urged people to be skeptical of those representing themselves as his friends or claiming to speak for him.

"With few exceptions most of them are simply filling a desperate void in our culture that equates visibility with insight," he said. "We will not engage in speculation. We will not provide running commentary on every new development or allegation du jour. We intend to try our case in the courtroom, not in the public or the media."

Meanwhile, actress Elizabeth Taylor broke her silence about the accusations, defending her close friend and blasting the media.

"I believe Michael is innocent and that he will be vindicated," Taylor said Sunday in a statement released through her publicist.

Taylor had previously refused to speak to the media about the charges against Jackson, who hosted Taylor's 1991 wedding to construction worker Larry Fortensky at Neverland.

Jackson Impresses His Lawyer. 24-11-'03

Michael Jackson's new defence attorney Mark Geragos spent the weekend with the king of pop - and is convinced his client is innocent of child molestation allegations.

Geragos, who led Winona Ryder's defence as she fought shoplifting charges in 2002, met with Jackson at his Neverland Ranch home, which was raided by police and investigators last week (November 18).

And as he waits to hear the charges - which are scheduled to be brought against Jackson next week (December 01) - Geragos insists his client is innocent.

The respected lawyer says, "Michael is one of the most brilliant, intelligent, strongest human beings I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

"I couldn't be more impressed with him."

Corey FeldmanFeldman Refuses To Support Old Pal Jackson. 24-11-'03

Michael Jackson's one-time best friend Corey Feldman is refusing to support the pop superstar as he battles new child molestation charges.

Former child star Feldman became friends with Jackson when he was 13, but the pair fell out a decade ago and now 'The Goonies' star insists he no longer knows the real Michael Jackson.

He says, "(I'm taking) a neutral stance at this point, but that's not necessarily to say I believe anything. It's more to say Michael and I have had our personal issues through the years, we've had our differences and for that reason I'm not here as his cheerleader.

"We're not close friends at this time. We were very close."

But Feldman admits he once spent quality time with Jackson when he was a teenager, and he never saw the king of pop behave inappropriately towards children.

He now hopes his former friend will learn lessons from the latest child molestation scandal.

Feldman adds, "I hope this is an eye-opening experience for him. What Michael Jackson needs more than anything is to look around him and say, 'Who can I trust?' "

Jermaine JacksonThe Jacksons Declare War On Santa Barbara Investigators. 24-11-'03

Michael Jackson's furious family have declared war on the Santa Barbara, California investigators accusing the star of child molestation.

Jackson's brother Jermaine claims the King of Pop only settled the 1993 Jordy Chandler child molestation battle out of court because the family was too busy with projects and illnesses to fight in court.

But, as his brother faces multiple charges after an investigation by Santa Barbara police and investigators, Jermaine insists "racist" lawmakers are about to get a taste of Jackson justice.

He fumes, "I feel that when you're handcuffing my brother, you're handcuffing the whole family, and it's not right.

"I'm asking and requesting a state and federal investigation of the investigators. You've got a bunch of racist rednecks out there who don't care about people.

"We are a family. My mother is very angry, we're all angry, and we're going to put our soldiers and our generals together and prepare for war. That's what this is. You do not handcuff my brother and expect us to just sit there. We're gonna fight back with everything we've got.

"(A decade ago) the family was doing a lot of things - my sister was getting ready to mount a tour, my mother's blood pressure was extremely high, and, during that time, I guess the fight wasn't there."
