Michael JacksonMichael Thanks His Italian Fans On Behalf Of Him And His Children. 11-'04

On behalf of himself and his children, the entertainer sends a message of love and gratitude to his Italian fans supporting him with respect to the child abuse allegations in a public event, as well as to his European fans in general.

“Hi everyone, this is Michael Jackson. I'm sorry I can't be with you at the celebration tonight. I would love to be with you in Italy. I hope everyone is having fun and having a good time. I wanna say hello and send my love to everyone that is there. Your support means everything to me. I love my European fans.

You are the greatest. You are my second family. I love you so much. I am so blessed to have fans like you all over the world that are so loyal to me and continue to see beyond all the negative press and the lies of people that claim to be my friends but are really out to hurt me.

I cannot defend myself against every lie that is told but I am so grateful that I have such amazing supporters that you will stand up for the truth no matter what. I hope that you all have a wonderful time tonight. Have fun, enjoy the box set (The Ultimate Collection released that year).

I am with you there in spirit and I hope to see you all soon, very soon. I love you so so much and thank you from the bottom of my heart. From Prince, Paris, Blanket and myself, we love you.

Judge Denies Defense Request. 30-11-'04

The judge in the molestation case against Michael Jackson on Monday (November 29) rejected a defense request to conduct psychological examinations of the alleged victim's family. Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville ruled without hearing arguments in court. Attorneys could not comment on the decision because of a gag order.

The judge did grant a defense request to release transcripts of the grand jury selection process as long as grand jurors' names remained confidential. The defense has complained that prosecutors had too much sway over grand jurors and argued that their indictment of Jackson was reached improperly.

Attorneys also argued in court over a prosecution claim that subpoenas issued by the defense are overly broad. The defense has sought medical and banking records involving the accuser's family that prosecutors say are completely irrelevant.

"There are clearly records that are out of bounds such as the gynecological records of the victim's sister or mother," said Senior Deputy District Attorney Ron Zonen.

The prosecutor said the defense had also requested 23 years of military records for the alleged victim's stepfather, and that an attorney for the family objected to a subpoena for "medical records from UCLA."

Defense attorney Robert Sanger accused Zonen of dropping "sound bites" by referring to the gynecological records.
"There's a very good reason for requesting those and I don't want to go into that right now," Sanger said. Prosecutors also objected to the defense giving subpoenas to banks, medical facilities and others without informing the prosecution or the people referenced in the targeted records.

Jackson's attorneys said they needed to gather records without prosecution interference in order to build the defense without tipping their hand about potential strategies.

The judge, saying he wanted to protect both Jackson and the people named in the records, ordered the defense to notify the people involved. He said those people would have five court days to file objections to the release of records to the defense.
Melville said the defense would not be required to notify the prosecution about the subpoenas.

Jackson's Lawyers Want Accuser To Undergo New Tests. 26-11-'04

Michael Jackson's lawyers want his accuser and his family to undergo psychological tests ahead of the star's child abuse trial in January (05).

Michael's legal team argues the dates the alleged abuse happened in the original complaint differs from April's (04) indictment to stand trial, which no longer follows the details recounted by psychologist Stanley Katz who interviewed the teenage boy.

Jackson's lawyers say, "Somewhere, the perception of the facts in this case was significantly altered."

Michael Jackson Attorneys
Michael Jackson defense attorneys, Susan Yu (C), Thomas Mesereau (L) and Brian Oxman (R) depart the Santa Maria Courthouse.

While the alleged abuses are said to have taken place between 7 February and 10 March 2003, Jackson's lawyers say the indictment in April 2004 altered the dates to between 20 February and 12 March 2003.

The motion calls on the judge to order a psychological evaluation of the accuser, his brother and their mother, to take place on Monday (November 29) in Santa Barbara County Superior Court.

Death Threat To Jackson Earns Man Probation. 23-11-'04

A Canadian man charged with E-mailing a death threat to Michael Jackson pleaded guilty yesterday (Nov. 22) in Kitchener, Ont., to uttering death threats. Adrian Poffley, 26, was given a conditional discharge and put on probation for one year. Poffley, who can't use E-mail during his probation, will not have a criminal record if he obeys the terms.

The court heard that on Aug. 16, Poffley had been off his medication for depression and anxiety for about a week when he watched a TV broadcast of Jackson entering a California courthouse to face charges of child molestation.

Poffley sent an E-mail to the Web site of the courthouse, government prosecutor Anita Gustin told Justice Margaret Woolcott. "Jackson will not make it to his car," the message stated. "This is a promise. By the way, bulletproof vests are weakest under the arm."

After Jackson's court appearance, Poffley sent a second E-mail: "The cop in the green suit and blue shirt was in the way. Maybe next time."

Poffley's threats caused enough concern for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office to launch an investigation. The E-mail was traced to Bell Canada's Sympatico Internet service, which released subscriber information to police.

Aaron CarterAaron Carter On The Defensive. 22-11-'04

Following numerous stories concerning Aaron Carter's friendship with Michael Jackson, for the first time Aaron has spoken out slamming media innuendos.

"Aaron Carter's sleepover at Michael Jackson's house was pretty innocent. For one thing, they hardly slept. Carter tells People magazine he, Jackson and Chris Tucker were riding around until 5 a.m. on four-wheelers in the mountains.

That was after they were smashing cake in each other's faces. When it did come time to sleep, Carter says they didn't sleep in the same room and they did not share a bed.

He says there was nothing sexual about it. Carter also says his sister Leslie's implication that Carter did drugs at Jackson's house is not true.

He says he doesn't do drugs and he didn't do them with Michael Jackson nor would he do them with anyone else."

Michael Jackson has another lawsuit to battle - an antiques store is suing him for failing to pay for his purchases.

Los Angeles, California, traders Kamand Enterprise, who operate the Mayfair Gallery, has only paid $200,000 of the $380,000 worth of furniture he bought from the shop on 8 May.

According to the suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court this week (begins November 15), Jackson owes $180,000 for his purchase of a large mirror, a 13-branch candelabra, pair of tall white marble and bronze centrepieces, a French silver bread holder and a silver tea and coffee set, from the 19th century.

Marc SchaffelMichael Accused By Marc Schaffel. 16-11-'04

The accusation against Jackson is been introduced at the Los Angeles court by Marc Schaffel, he maintains that he has made a few specials for Michael on Fox Television, just after the documentary of Martin Bashir was broadcasted.

After the documentary 'Living With Michael Jackson' Schaffel made on that a special about Jackson, in which he appeared for the camera hand in hand with a 12 year old boy.

This video stands now in the centre of court, because accusers are telling that Jackson had forced the young victim and his family to work along on this shooting.

Marc Schaffel made also promotion in 2002 for his charity-single 'What More Can I Give', which was been recording by Jackson to collect money for the victims and survivors of the outrage of September 11th in New York.

The project was falling into the water after the pop star find out that Schaffel, was involved in the pornographic industry. He claimed 3 million dollar because the singer indebted him money for unpaid loans, paying money in advance, and producer costs.

According to Marc Schaffel is Michael Jackson bankrupt.

Michael Jackson's Latest Accuser Lies, Ex-Girlfriend Says. 13-11-'04

A few days ago, the world press reported about a new case against Michael Jackson. A man from Louisiana is accusing the singer of child molestation more then 20 years ago, and claims that he has suppressed the bad memories during all those years... However the latest accuser received worldwide press attention, someone who knows him very well, his ex-girlfriend, has now stepped forward and defends Michael Jackson.

Hope Horne, who also lives in Louisiana spoke to "Celebrity Justice" and said that Joseph Thomas Bartucci, Jr., who is her ex-boyfriend, announced her that he was planning to sue Michael Jackson.

"When I was watching 'Celebrity Justice,' I was just shocked," Horne said. "I couldn't believe he went through with it. He told me a couple of months before that he was going to sue Mr. Jackson, and I told him he was full of it. I am speaking out because I don't want to see this con man ruin a person who already has enough on his plate."

According to "Celebrity Justice" Bartucci filed another suit in 2001, accusing a Louisiana reverend of sexual molestation, claiming the minister "demanded that the plaintiff's masturbation was necessary in order to purify and avoid going to hell." Attorneys for both sides say that the suit settled out of court with the terms confidential.

"I'm angry that he's doing this," Hope told Celebrity Justice. "I feel hurt that he's doing this and glad that maybe I'll see justice served. He's a total con artist and a liar."

Hope Horne thinks that money is the reason behind the false accusations. "He's trying to get a quick buck. He thinks Michael Jackson will pay him off and shut him up."

MTV Rally Report. 12-11-'04

At the MTV Rally on yesterday (November 11) fans supported Michael in the Eminem video dispute. They demonstrated outside the Times Square studios of MTV in New York (USA) over the network's airing of Eminem's video 'Just Lose It'.

Fans were surprised by a message from Michael who called Fox's Geraldo Rivera who stood in the midst of the screaming protesters during the demonstration: "I decided that rather than have anyone speak for me, I would do it myself. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart ... I love them so, so much." He added that he wants to "thank my fans for their strong support over the years."

Regarding Eminem's video he said: "I think it's demeaning and disrespectful. It's not just about Michael Jackson but a pattern of disrespect that he's shown to our community. He needs to stop it, and he needs to stop it now."

Michael also added that he has been working on new music: "I've been working on several albums right now, I've been working on music today ...I'm in the process of making plans to do some wonderful things that I will be announcing to the fans very, very soon."

Michael added that he was grateful to his fans and a host of others for backing him in the controversy, including Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton:
"I want to thank my fans for their strong support. They're the best fans in the world. They've written thousands and thousands of letters and made hundreds of calls regarding the Eminem video."

The phone call was played for the fans via loudspeakers on the street.

Geraldo Rivera also characterized Eminem's video as a "savage, even racist parody".

During the demonstration an impersonator danced to 'Beat It' and fans carried signs which for example read "Michael Jackson, Keep Hope Alive". MJFC Team member Vernay Lewis was quoted by AP: "We're here because we feel as though MTV has a responsibility to the public not to air this kind of video. It's insensitive. It's rude to Michael and his family."

The British public has chose one act to represent each decade since the Fifties as part of a new Channel 4 show.

Robbie Williams represents the 1990's, Michael Jackson the 1980's, Queen the 1970's, the Rolling Stones the 1960's and Sir Cliff Richard has been chosen as the ambassador for the 1950's.

The UK Hall of Fame has inducted honorary members at a ceremony: Madonna, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, U2 and the Beatles.

The ceremony at London's Hackney Empire will be broadcast on Channel 4 on Sunday (November 14).

Michael Jackson beat the likes of Prince, REM, George Michael and The Smiths to be crowned music ambassador from the 80's. But there was no-one to accept the Thriller star's award on his behalf.

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson Asks For Psych Test Of His Accusers. 11-11-'04

Attorneys for singer Michael Jackson have asked a judge to order mental evaluations for the family of the boy accusing him of child molestation, alleging they could not effectively cross-examine a psychologist if denied access to his reviews, according to court documents released Wednesday (November 10).

Defense attorneys also argued details of the alleged abuse contained in the complaint filed by prosecutors vastly differ from those contained in the grand jury indictment, according to Jackson's motion seeking the psychological evaluations.

The complaint filed by Santa Barbara County prosecutors in December 2003 had charged Jackson with seven counts of lewd acts with a child and two counts of administering an intoxicant to a minor, alleged abuses that occurred between Feb. 7, 2003, to March 10, 2003, the motion said.

However, the April 2004 indictment later charged Jackson with four counts of lewd acts with a child, one count of attempted lewd acts with a child and four counts of administering an intoxicant in commission of a felony, alleged abuses that occurred between Feb. 20, 2003, to March 12, 2003, according to the motion.

The indictment said there were five "unindicted" individuals with counts under a California penal code section that includes conspiracy to commit a crime.

"Somewhere, the perception of the facts in this case was significantly altered, and the indictment no longer followed the details and chronology recounted by" psychologist Stanley Katz, who interviewed the teenage boy and his family and told authorities about the alleged abuse, Jackson attorneys said in court documents.

A hearing involving the motion for the psychological exams was scheduled for Monday in Santa Barbara County Superior Court.

Jackson attorney Brian Oxman declined to comment on the motion, citing a gag order against him and all parties involved in the case.

Phone calls were placed late Wednesday to the Santa Barbara County district attorney's office, but officials were not immediately available for comment.

Attorneys for Jackson also argued for the psychological tests on the grounds that "the prosecution opened the door to permit a mental examination" by allowing Katz to interview the boy and his family, court papers said. The motion asks for an evaluation of the boy who made the accusation, his brother and their mother. It was unclear from the court
documents which boy Jackson allegedly molested.
