Michael Jackson's Trip To Dubia. 29-08-'05

Michael Jackson flew into Dubai about a week ago, accompanied by Shaikh Abdullah Ben Hamed Al Khalifa, son of the King of Bahrain. He toured the main sights in the city, visited the Hard Rock Café and the famous hotel Burj Al Arab. UAE champion rally driver Ben Sulayem, who showed Michael around, told Gulf News Jackson was "a gentleman" who charmed all who met him including the many fans. Michael took time off with fans, chatting with them and posing for photographs.
"Everybody knew who he was and he was so nice to them all. He had the time to talk and take pictures and shake hands.
We said to him: Please Michael, we have to go, but he carried on. He was incredibly polite.

We know all about his music and his incredible career, but not many people realise what a genuinely nice person he is. He's very pleasant to be with. He's a gentleman."

Contrary to press reports who try to build up a reputation of eccentricity, Ben Sulayem said the entertainer was normal and down-to-earth. He said Jackson even chose a dish off the standard menu during his visit to the Hard Rock Café.
"Definitely the guy is a normal human being like us. He eats the same things as everyone else I think he's more normal than most people.

Michael Jackson in Dubai
Michael Jackson is staying at Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the king's son, in one of the royal palaces.

For him to come and see Dubai at the worst time in the middle of the hottest spell and still like it is good. It's a great achievement. We were complaining about the temperature but he wasn't."

Michael Jackson chatted with staff at the offices of developer Nakheel before taking a boat trip to The World and The Palm projects.

"He had heard that some amazing developments were taking place here, but he was still astonished to see the scale of the expansion and particular projects like The World and The Palm Jumeirah. He liked the area. It's very peaceful."

He added that Jackson was staying at a private residence rather than in one of Dubai's luxury hotels.

"He is still in Dubai for a few more days. He wants to see more of the city. And we would like him to come back when the temperature is more reasonable."

The mother of the boy who had accused Michael Jackson of sexual abuse is been indicted for fraud, she showed herself more poor to be considered for a payment with which she had raked in more than 18.000 dollar.

If she doesn't report herself voluntary before September 7th by the authorities, she will be arrested, warned the accusers. There's hanging an imprisonment of five years over her head.

Michael Jackson's lawyer Tom Mesereau has taken cognizance of the accusation, and called it an affirmation of the unreliability of the witness.

Michael JacksonJackson Completes Residence Formalities In Bahrain. 17-08-'05

Michael Jackson is so keen on settling in Bahrain that he has opened a bank account to complete the residence formalities that require a deposit in a Bahrain bank, sources close to the superstar told Gulf News.

The action complements the earlier move of purchasing a plot to build a mansion and two adjacent luxury villas to host relatives and friends.

"Michael is fond of Bahrain and he has been contemplating the idea of settling here shortly after his arrival for vacation. His three children have helped him make the residence decision after they told him often that they felt happy and secure and that they enjoyed the easygoing life in Bahrain where they do not have to face pushy crowds," the sources said.

Jackson has been on the island since late June when he came to recuperate after a four-month trial on child molestation, conspiracy and alcohol charges. A California jury on June 13 exonerated him of all charges.

"Michael really loves the serene environment in Bahrain. He does not watch much television, and spends a lot of his time reading books and magazines. He selects his own books," the sources said. "He also enjoys being with his children."
His sister Janet is expected to make a visit to Bahrain next month. "All his siblings are curious to see how relaxed Michael is in Bahrain's calm and tranquil environment," the sources said.

Jackson has been guaranteed absolute privacy since his arrival on the island and has not spoken to the media.
He has appeared twice in public. The sources denied reports that the King of Pop was moving with a heavy entourage and that he was driving a flashy red Ferrari.

"We saw the report from a Western network. This is exactly what is resented: baseless gossip that is not in any way related to the truth. He has a limited entourage, and he moves in his Rolls Royce," the sources said.

Michael JacksonJackson Avoids Jail Over Sex Assault. 17-08-'05

Michael Jackson has escaped arrest today by sending an attorney to represent him at a hearing for his latest sexual assault lawsuit.

The singer has failed to attend or send a lawyer to two court summonses regarding the case and US District Judge Eldon Fallon has hit Jackson with a $10,000 fine.

Charles Gay, Jackson's lawyer, argued an administration misunderstanding had prevented Jackson from attending the hearings and apologised on his behalf.

But Fallon insisted he would have ordered Jackson's arrest had he not ordered Gay to attend today's hearing.

The plaintiff, Joseph Bartucci is seeking unspecified damages and alleges he was held against his will for several days and sexually assaulted by the 'Thriller' star in 1984, aged just 18.

Fallon has scheduled a trial date on 7 September.

Gay warned that the defence would be ferocious - on a par with Jackson's sophisticated representation during his child molestation trial in June where he was found "not guilty" on all counts.

Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney Won't Buy Beatle Rights. 11-08-'05

Sir Paul McCartney has slammed rumours he will take advantage of Michael Jackson's financial troubles to make a low offer for The Beatles song rights - because he will get them anyway.

Reports of Jackson's dwindling financial prospects prompted speculation McCartney would buy back rights to his classic songs like 'Yesterday', but the rocker revealed a legality means the songs will soon be his anyway.

And the superstar stresses his one time feud with Jackson is over because he is too happy to be angry with the fallen pop king.

He says, "I don't think so. I've had people talk to me who are more concerned for me than I am about it. But the interesting thing is, there are actually things in the whole deal that actually revert to me anyway.

"There are years approaching, there are date approaching, that we never thought would approach, where things revert to me. So really, it's a waiting game rather than a big proactive buying game.

"Which suits my personality: just hang on, be patient, it's cool. Don't get your knickers in a twist."

Raymone K. BainRaymone K. Bain Issues Statement On Behalf Of Jackson. 10-08-'05

When Michael Jackson issued a brief statement Tuesday (August 9) regretting the passing of one of his mentors, John H. Johnson, the subtext that caught the eye of many was where the statement came from: the office of Raymone K. Bain, the spokeswoman who had not been heard from since just before Jackson's trial ended.

Bain, who is based in Washington, D.C., confirmed by phone that she continues to work for Jackson. She said she remains in touch with the singer, who was last reported to be in Bahrain with his children.

"He is relaxing on vacation and doing well," she said, but declined to say anything further.

Just before Jackson was acquitted of molestation charges June 13, a notice was posted on a Jackson Web site saying that Bain had been terminated. She never confirmed it.

Bain had been an extremely visible spokeswoman for Jackson during the trial, appearing on TV talk shows and holding press conferences on his behalf outside the courthouse.

The statement she issued on Jackson's behalf Tuesday said: "I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of my mentor and friend, John Johnson. I send my heartfelt sympathy to his wife, Eunice, and his daughter, Linda."

Johnson, who died Monday (August 8) at the age of 87, was the founder of Ebony and Jet magazines.

Thomas MesereauThomas Mesereau Slams Jurors-Turned-Authors. 09-08-'05

Michael Jackson's lawyer has slammed two jurors-turned-authors planning to write tell-all books on the singer's child molestation trial, claiming their publishing careers are "very suspicious".

Attorney Thomas Mesereua represented Michael in his long child molestation battle at the Santa Maria, California court house, where the jury found the superstar not guilty on all counts in June 13.

Last week (August 5), ex-jurors Eleanor Cook and Ray Hultman announced they were writing about their experiences of deciding Jackson's fate in the books, 'Guilty As Sin, 'Free As A Bird' and 'The Deliberator' respectively.

Both Cook and Hultman admitted they believe Jackson's teenage accuser Gavin Arvizo was molested on last night's (August 8) NBC TV chat show Rita Cosby: Live and direct.

Cook said, "No doubt in my mind whatsoever, that boy was molested, and I also think he enjoyed to some degree being Michael Jackson's toy.

"I'm speaking out now because I believe it's never too late to tell the truth."

Meanwhile Mesereau is baffled by Cook and Hultman's comments, saying, "The bottom line is it makes no difference what they're saying.

"Twelve people deliberated and out of that process justice is supposed to result. Now, two months later, these jurors are changing their tunes.

"They clearly like being on TV. I'm very suspicious."

Jackson Jurors Planning To Pen Books About Trial. 05-08-'05

Despite presenting a united front after their verdict to acquit Michael Jackson of child molestation, at least three book deals in the works suggest otherwise. Six jurors have banded together, secured an agent and are shopping a book proposal explaining why they believe the pop star was innocent, while two others are going it alone, saying he was guilty.

Immediately after the trial, jurors spoke about their deliberations. At that time, Raymond Hultman, a 62-year-old civil engineer, explained that while he thought Mr. Jackson's propensity to sleep with young boys indicated to him that the singer had likely molested boys, he said in this case the prosecution did not prove guilt.

But Melissa Herard, one of six jurors working together on a book about the deliberations, said that's not what she or other jurors took away from the trial. "I don't believe that," Ms. Herard said. "Ray's entitled to his opinion, but I don't believe (Mr. Jackson) was ever guilty of any of this."

Part of the motivation for writing a book as a group was to convey that most of the jurors felt the same way about the case, Ms. Herard said. An in-depth account of the trial and their deliberations would give the group a chance to explain some of the case's more complicated aspects, she said. "It's hard to get at that in comments about the case," she said. "There was a lot of stuff that went on that doesn't get conveyed."

From the jury box, Ms. Herard said she had the advantage of a direct line of sight with both the defense and prosecution and a clear, close-up view of the witnesses. "We saw their expressions, their mannerisms and how they responded to questions," she said. "I don't think (reporters) could see that from other parts of the courtroom."

Michael JacksonJackson Interview Yet To Be Finalised. 03-08-'05

Michael Jackson has yet to agree to an exclusive post-trial interview, despite reports a weekly magazine is to pay him $2 million to talk.

Michael has not been seen in public since he was acquitted of child molestation charges on June 13.

While Jackson was reported to have agreed to speak to the US edition of OK! magazine about his two years of torment since his arrest, it now emerges the interview is yet to be finalised.

An insider tells website PageSix.com, "He won't sign until he gets the money and OK! won't give him the money until he signs.

"We thought it was a done deal, but at the last minute there were problems."

Debbie RoweJackson, Ex-Wife Debbie Rowe Close To Kids Settlement. 02-08-'05

Michael Jackson's attorney Michael Abrams said that a settlement in a legal dispute with Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe over visitation rights for their two children Prince Michael (8) and Paris (7) "is in sight".

The pair had been married for three years starting in 1996. Rowe voluntarily gave up her parental rights in 2001. In 2004, when the child molestation trial started, Rowe wanted a change in her status. A judge voided the order after her attorneys argued that proper court procedures weren't followed. During the child molestation trial Rowe testified and praised Michael Jackson as a good father.

On Tuesday, Jackson's lawyer Michael Abrams said:

"The resolution will be to everybody's satisfaction. I'm hoping everybody will go away very happy."

Abrams said the two sides were discussing several issues besides whether Rowe would be allowed to see the children.
Rowe's attorney, Iris Finsilver, declined comment on whether a settlement was near:

"I wouldn't want to jeopardize anything for the parties."

Michael JacksonJackson 'Moves' To Bahrain. 02-08-'05

Michael Jackson has reportedly splashed out on a 14 acre estate in Bahrain and plans to flee America for good.

Jackson was desperate to find a refuge away from the media's prying eyes, and he appears to have found it in the shape of a lavish property next to his friend Sheik Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Khalifa's palace, the New York Post reports.

Jackson fell in love with the Middle Eastern country when he holidayed there after being acquitted of sex abuse charges earlier this summer (June 13), and it was the only time he was seen in public since the gruelling trial.

And Michael is sporting the traditional dress and headgear - in a bid to avoid attention as well as fit in with the local culture.

Bryan Michael StollerBryan Michael Stoller's Odd Experience At Neverland. 01-08-'05

Film school could never have prepared movie maker Bryan Michael Stoller for the time he spent shooting Michael Jackson at his Neverland Ranch, California home - because it was such a bizarre experience.

The director filmed Jackson's scenes for his new movie 'Miss Cast Away' at the pop superstar's home and admits he found the job a little crazy.

Stoller tells MTV News, "It's all normal to him that there's a train running around the property tooting its horn.

"His staff brought us soup, so we were sipping soup and talking, and these two elephants walk by outside. Michael's continuing to sip his soup like a fly flew by, and I turn to Michael and look at him and he's not even acknowledging the elephants. He looked at me and laughed.

"I didn't think of it until we were actually shooting; I didn't anticipate that we were going to shoot somewhere and there was going to be trains and elephants."

Stoller reveals he also got a taste of film buff Jackson's passion for movies: "He's got, like, a miniature Blockbuster; he buys every DVD and VHS copy of every movie that comes out.

"He's also a huge film buff; he almost wants to make movies more than he wants to make music now."
