Singer Janet Jackson has been named the most popular search on Google for 2005 joining other celebrities in the top 10 including her brother Michael Jackson and movie stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The 39-year-old Janet continued to pique the interests of people around the world in 2005, with rumours she had secretly given birth to a daughter 18 years ago and paparazzi video of her sunbathing nude.

Jermaine JacksonJackson Family To Get Real? Jermaine Pitches TV Show. 28-12-'05

Pop star Michael Jackson was a no-show at the family's Christmas Eve gathering, but cameras captured the fest as the musical clan stockpiled footage for the reality TV show they've been shopping around Hollywood.

So far, no network has announced plans to buy the series, but project front man Jermaine Jackson has told family and friends he's landed a $7 million deal for a 13-episode reality series, a source close to the family told the Daily News yesterday (December 27).

Music exec Cory Rooney is said to be producing the unscripted series.

The most shocking footage shows Michael Jackson riding to the Santa Maria, Calif., courthouse with family members on his way to hear the verdict in his child molestation trial last June.

"Michael is rocking back and forth pretty fast with a Bible open in his lap. He's saying: 'They tried to do this to Job, now they are trying to do it to me. Why me?'" the source said.

"His family members keep reassuring him: 'It's gonna be okay. We know they're just trying to get your money and the catalogue (Sony/Beatles music rights). We understand..."

One thing viewers won't see in the reality show is the King of Pop celebrating with his family after the verdict - because it never happened.

"When they got back to Neverland, Michael sent his family away. He went into a guesthouse and told them he needed to be alone. He stayed in there until they left. That was the last time they laid eyes on him," said the family source.

The reality show will loosely focus on Michael Jackson's nephews Taj, Taryll and TJ - the sons of Tito Jackson who formed the early 90's R&B band 3T - as they try to revive their musical careers.

But Jermaine has promised that the King of Pop, who spent Christmas in Bahrain, will make five "new" appearances in the first season's episodes.

"I don't know how Jermaine plans to get Michael's participation. Michael hasn't even taken his mother's calls," said the source. "It makes no sense."

Neither Rooney nor Jermaine Jackson could be reached for comment yesterday, but if the $7 million reality-TV deal is for real, it may help the family save their beloved Hayvenhurst mansion from possible foreclosure.

The family feared getting the boot in January because Michael has failed to make payments on the $2.2 million second mortgage he took out on the property during his trial.

Pop diva Janet Jackson and brother Randy are the only siblings who have said they don't want to participate in the reality show.

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson Is Being Investigated. 27-12-'05

Michael Jackson is reportedly being investigated after allegedly lying to get passports for two of his children.

The eccentric star is accused of telling officials he had sole custody of eight-year-old Prince Michael and Paris, seven, to get the travel documents.

The children's original passports were with a court at the time because their mother Debbie Rowe was suing Jackson for custody.

The children are currently living with the star in Bahrain - where he has spent most of his time since being acquitted of child molestation charges earlier this year.

Website TMZ.com has reported Jackson could face charges of child abduction unless he returns the children to the US, after Rowe allegedly moved to get a court order to bring them home.

A Justice Department source is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "We can't comment on investigations. But there are specific laws about taking kids out of the country."

Meanwhile the pop legend has reportedly agreed to take part in a reality TV show.

According to a report in Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, Jackson will appear in the pilot and will make guest appearances in the show, which will follow his brother Tito's three sons as they try to make it in the music industry.

Jackson Visits Mall With Family. 26-12-'05

Pop star Michael Jackson visited an amusement arcade at a mall in Bahrain with his children and friends yesterday (December 25). Foton World in Bahrain Mall was closed to public for an hour for Jackson and his 15-member group, sources told the GDN.

It was closed from 4.30pm to 5.30pm to allow them some privacy as they celebrated Christmas, they said. “He came in with his family and went on the roller-coaster and the maze,” the sources added. “They spent a short while here and then they left.” Bahrain is currently the pop star’s legal home, which was revealed when he was summoned for jury duty in the US. His lawyers told California court officials that he would not be able to serve because he was no longer living full time at his Neverland Valley Ranch and that Bahrain was his new home.

Michael Takes 18 People To See 'King Kong' At The Seef Mall Movie Theatre. 25-12-'05

On Christmas Eve (December 24), he took a contingent of eighteen to see King Kong. The subject and his kids, plus a complement of hired muscle, a British family of unknown identity man and woman plus children, and various other unidentified's. He seems to prefer going to the movies when the mall and theater are pretty dead, in the middle of the afternoon on weekdays. The subject hasn't become a total shutin—he seeks the outside world, such as it exists in this place. He just does it in a controlled way.

King Kong
'King Kong' is a 2005 epic monster adventure film co-written, produced, and directed by Peter Jackson. A remake of the 1933 film of the same name.

Before the movie excursions, everything is arranged, timed out like a bank heist or a presidential motorcade. A woman named Grace—described as the subject's nanny, or his assistant, or a de facto member of his nuclear family, or the Enforcer—scouts the theater, negotiates prices, maps out routes of entry and escape, gives the speech You don't bumrush Michael Jackson, you don't touch him, you give him wide berth one meter is a good rule of thumb and maybe a warm smile, and you never, ever take pictures, not even with a camera phone, because the bodyguards will not hesitate to grab your phone and smash it, but let's not even worry about that, because everyone just wants to have fun. Later, at the appointed hour, when the subject and his guests and staff arrive in a caravan of blackedout sedans and SUV's, someone from the cinema is waiting for them. The group is ushered through the fire exit and upstairs into the theater, where a section has been cordoned off. Michael Jackson, Inc., pays the Seef Mall cinema $180 inclusive tickets, special services, plus ample popcorn, Coke, and candy, which the subject devours hungrily. A bathroom upstairs is reserved for his personal use.

"Michael goes to the bathroom every thirty minutes," the manager of the cinema says. He leans back in a desk chair, door closed, blinds drawn, smoking a cigarette and fingering a plump mole on his cheek. "I say, how many time can one man go to the bathroom? Are you writing that down? Don't write that down."

Michael JacksonJackson In Child Passport Investigation. 23-12-'05

US authorities are investigating allegations that Michael Jackson lied about his custody status in order to get passports for his children.

The original passports for Prince Michael Jr and Paris are being held by a family court, because former wife Debbie Rowe, 46, is suing the star for custody.

Jackson, who is currently living in Bahrain with the youngsters, is accused of claiming to have sole custody, in order to have new passports issued.

Yesterday (December 22) showbiz website TMZ.com reported Jackson could face child abduction charges unless he returns Prince Michael Jr and Paris to America, after Rowe allegedly filed a lawsuit in a bid to obtain a court-order to bring the children home.

Jackson is also father to three-year-old boy Prince Michael II, who he refers to as Blanket. The child's mother is unknown.

On December 21st, Sheikh Abdullah gave Michael $250,000 to shop for Christmas gifts and to entertain his guests, who would be arriving within days from England and the United States. The sum raised his investment in what Abdullah continued to call their “partnership” to more than $5 million.

Michael hurried to Ashraf’s Department Store in Manama the very next day (December 22), spending $40,000 in what was little more than a walk-through. He bought $35,000 worth of high-end electronics at Manama’s Panasonic store the following day (December 23) and awaited the arrival of Mark Lester’s family from London that evening. They would have an old-fashioned Christmas in Bahrain, Michael had decided, with a big tree, piles of presents, and lots of excited children to open them. He was overjoyed when Frank Cascio and his family arrived from New York a short time later.

The Beatles CatalogueJackson Lawyers Play Down Beatles Debt Threat. 20-12-'05

Lawyers for pop superstar Michael Jackson have played down suggestions his prized The Beatles song catalogue will be seized by creditors.

Michael is thought to have borrowed heavily against his assets, including his multi-million dollar stake in The Beatles publishing rights, while fighting his child molestation trial earlier this year (June).

A default on Jackson's loan repayments - an installment is due today - could allegedly give private equity fund Fortress Investment Group the opportunity to seize the lucrative stake.

But an attorney for the troubled singer is confident the threat can still be deflected.

Brent Ayscough says, "There no doomsday, or anything like that. Nothing's going to happen tomorrow. At the moment people are still talking."

Jackson's 50 per cent interest in The Beatles' song catalogue is valued at $500 million and includes 200 hit tunes including 'Yesterday', as well as a host of other artist's work ranging from Bob Dylan to Joni Mitchell.

Michael JacksonJackson 'Binging' In Bahrain? 07-12-'05

Pop star Michael Jackson's family fears his pill popping has spun "out of control" again and they're making plans to fly to Bahrain to stage an "intervention" rescue, the Daily News has learned.

"The family is in a state of emergency. They consider it a life-or-death situation," a source close to the family told The News yesterday (December 6).

Brother Randy Jackson reportedly is leading the drive to get Michael into rehab after fielding a long-distance call for help from Grace Rwaramba, the nanny to Jackson's children.

"Michael is binging again. Grace basically said she can't handle him alone," the family source said. "The family is in a tailspin."

Randy and other kin have asked pop princess Janet Jackson to finance the costly rescue mission. Michael Jackson, 47, has been holed up in Bahrain since shortly after his acquittal on child-molestation charges last June.

The singer's rep, Raymone K. Bain, called the report "a total lie" and claimed Jackson "was on the phone as we speak" directing other musical artists in an L.A. recording studio.

"He is clear-headed and articulate. He is not on drugs. It's false," Bain said.

The King of Pop recently turned up in a ladies room in a Bahrain shopping mall wearing a women's head scarf. His rep said it was all a "mistake."

The tarnished pop idol reportedly has popped the anti-anxiety drug Xanax as well as potent painkillers in recent years, sources say.

"It's a sad, sad story, and if this is how his life ends, it couldn't be more tragic," said former Jackson family pal Stacy Brown, who chronicled the singer's past drug woes in 'Michael Jackson: The Man Behind The Mask'.

The singer went to rehab at least once following 1993 child molestation allegations, and he reportedly resisted a family intervention attempt in New York in December 2001.

"He told them, 'I'll be dead in a year - leave me alone,'" the family source told The News.
