Michael JacksonJackson To 'Record Comeback In London'. 30-09-'05

Superstar Michael Jackson will reportedly step out of hiding in the Middle East next week (October 7) to record his charity single 'From The Bottom Of My Heart' in Britain.

Michael has been residing in Bahrain with his friend Prince Abdulla since he was acquitted of child molestation charges in a Santa Maria, California, court in June.

Earlier this month Jackson announced his plans to enlist celebrity friends, including Jay-Z, James Brown, Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige, to record a charity song, with proceeds going to the victims of Hurricane Katrina (August 29) on America's Gulf Coast.

British newspaper The Sun claims Jackson is flying to London next week to begin the recording process.

A source says, "Michael has been working on the lyrics since the hurricane happened and wants to release it in the next fortnight.

"He can't wait to visit London. He's always had incredible support from fans in England and he admires some of the top producers based there."

Lionel RichieLionel Richie Offers Support For Katrina Project. 24-09-'05

Music legend Lionel Richie recently expressed his interest in participating in Michael Jackson's Hurricane Katrina benefit project. Jackson is currently working on a benefit single to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina and has invited other stars to join him on the project.

Richie said that the two of them have been playing phone tag and haven't been able to touch base to talk about the project.

"We would do it, but what we would want to know right now is who is running it. If you know anything about Lionel Richie, if you know anything about Michael Jackson, if you know anything about all of us as artists, we can't run it because we are in every part of the world. Somebody has to be the point person, and we need to find out who that point person is."

Richie added that getting all the talent together in one location would be huge obstacle to overcome. He and Jackson successfully gathered a variety artists for the recording of the hit charity single, 'We Are The World' because the project was centered around the American Music Awards and many artists were already in town.

"The project may be a monster. It's not that it can't be done, but we need one galvanizing point where everyone can come together."

So far, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, and James Brown are among those that have agreed to participate in Jackson's Katrina project.

XtraJetXtraJet Manager Spied Upon Michael During Flight. 21-09-'05

The manager of an American charter aviation company and his partner are summoned before court because they should have spied upon super star Michael Jackson, so has the newspaper Los Angeles Times informed.

Owner Jeffrey Borer of charter company XtraJet and Arvell J. Reeves, head of a security company, were accused of placing cameras and microphones in an airplane that brought Jackson and his then lawyer Mark Geragos from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara.

The intention was to listen in his conversations.

The King of Pop was then accused of child abuse. The mini cameras and microphones between the airplane seats came out of a shop for spying merchandise.

The two got caught when they tried to sell tapes of a real relaxed and laughing Jackson to a broadcasting station. Borer put forward that the tapes were found after the flight and didn't know were they came from.

The federal investigation has thrown their selves on the case and in April last year the suspicion felt on Borer and Reeves. Both have to appear before the judge in the coming weeks to listen to the accusations against them.

Michael JacksonJackson Breaks His Silence. 19-09-'05

Superstar Michael Jackson has broken his silence over his child molestation court battle, describing the trial as "the hardest thing I've ever done in my life".

Michael spoke to news agency Associated Press (AP) in a phone call from Bahrain, where he has been staying with his friend Prince Abdulla, the son of the King in Bahrain.

Jackson said he and his three children Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II were "resting and recovering" following the two years of turmoil.

The star admitted he had suffered back problems during his high-profile trial in Santa Maria, California, but was now "feeling good".

The pop legend is now working hard on 'From The Bottom Of My Heart', a charity single to raise money for the victims of last month's (August 29) Hurricane Katrina.

He enthused, "I'm constantly working on it."

Joining Jackson on the phone to AP was his spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain, who was reported to have been fired by the Jackson family a day before the star was acquitted of all charges in June.

Bain admitted Jackson was in talks with a host of big names to sing on the charity single, but could not confirm a line-up. Jay-Z, James Brown, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg and Lauryn Hill are all rumoured to be taking part.

Michael Jackson in DubaiMichael Jackson Rents Waterpark And Offers Free Admission. 14-09-'05

Michael Jackson rented out the Wild Wadi park in Dubai, permitting free entrance to families, before arriving himself, clad in a full body lycra suit.

Following the massively controversial series of court-cases and trials, Michael Jackson rented out an entire water park in Dubai so children and their parents could have fun for free. The pop superstar is known to own a tremendous home called Neverland Ranch, named after the island setting of 'Peter Pan' - the magical island of Neverland, where children don't ever have to grow up.

The reclusive superstar, who now based in the Middle East, rented the Wild Wadi park, allowing free entry to families. When Jackson arrived himself, families and lifeguards were stunned to find him wearing a white lycra full body suit, with just his nose and eyes visible to members of the public. It's a far cry from MJ's notable fashion sense, and one lifeguard on duty told British newspaper the Daily Express: "He looked even stranger than usual. His body is very skinny and lycra does him no favours."

Jackson Juror Sues Over Book Deal. 11-09-'05

A juror on the Michael Jackson child molestation trial is suing a California publisher, claiming he was misled into signing a book deal with the company.

Ray Hultman, 62, alleges publisher Larry Garrison - owner of SilverCreek Entertainment - talked him and his wife into signing a deal to co-write 'The Deliberator' with writer Stacy Brown, following Jackson's acquittal of all charges in June.

Hultman was one of the 12 jurors who deliberated for 32 hours and unanimously found the 'Thriller' singer not guilty of molesting teen cancer sufferer Gavin Arvizo in 2003.

On US TV show Rita Cosby: Live And Direct last month (August), Hultman alleged he felt threatened by the Santa Maria, California court's jury foreman Paul Rodriguez during the trial and now regrets acquitting Jackson of the charges.

In a lawsuit filed in Santa Maria Superior Court, Hultman is seeking to opt out of his book deal and is asking for unspecified damages for mental and emotional stress.

In the suit, Hultman claims he was shocked by reports his book proposal contained text, plagiarised from a feature in Vanity Fair magazine, and the reports had damaged his reputation and book deal.

The suit states, "Mr Hultman was caused to expend substantial time in writing portions of a book proposal which turned out to be valueless give the aforementioned plagiary."

Janet Arvizo
Janet Arvizo, the mother of Gavin Arvizo.

Jackson Accuser's Mom Pleads Innocent. 06-09-'05

Arvizo, 37, who was arrested Aug. 23, was arraigned a day ahead of schedule, presumably to avoid a crush of press. Appearing before Superior Court Commissioner James N. Bianco, Arvizo pleaded innocent to five felony charges--one count of aid by misrepresentation and four for committing perjury by false application of aid. The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in state prison.

The woman, whose married name is Janet Jackson, was released on her own recognizance and ordered to return to court Oct. 28. She and her lawyer have declined comment.

The Los Angeles District Attorney says Arvizo wrongly pocketed nearly $19,000 in welfare payments from 2001 to '03. Prosecutors allege that she failed to report a six-figure lawsuit settlement, as well as rent assistance from her future second husband, then her boyfriend.

The charges should be familiar to followers of the Jackson trial--they were the same ones repeatedly leveled by the defense at Arvizo, the prosecution's key witness in its conspiracy case against the entertainer. And, in fact, L.A. officials opened their probe earlier this year after being alerted to Arvizo's alleged misdeeds by a Jackson attorney.

Jackson and Arvizo's paths first crossed in 2000, when the woman's eldest son became ill with cancer, and the pop star placed a get-well phone call to the boy. In November 2003, Jackson was arrested for the alleged molestation of the child, then 13. On June 13, the singer was acquitted by jurors who would explain that they didn't believe, or even like, the accuser's family--especially Arvizo.

Shortly after taking the stand in April, Arvizo took the Fifth, refusing to answer questions about her welfare status.

Arvizo was hardly silent in the witness box, though. She cried, bickered with defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. and snapped her fingers, a gesture that drew the ire of juror Eleanor Cook, whose post-verdict quip, "Don't snap your fingers at me, lady," is now available on a T-shirt near you.

Michael Jackson in DubaiDubai Happy With Jackson Media Exposure. 04-09-'05

Michael Jackson's visit to Dubai has been a smash hit with the world's media who have delighted in reporting on his fun-in-the-sun holiday.

Newspapers and websites from New York to New Delhi have given the megastar's sightseeing trip top billing.

Dozens of papers have printed the pictures of a smiling Jackson posing with Bahrain's Shaikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and top UAE rally driver, Mohammad Ben Sulayem.

The media frenzy has been particularly strong since it is one of Jackson's first public appearances since he was cleared of child abuse charges in the United States almost three months ago.

Britain's Daily Mail commented on how happy Jackson looked as he visited the offices of developer Nakheel and saw The World and The Palm projects.

"Wearing a bright blue shirt, his black trilby set at a jaunty angle, he looked a picture of health and happiness, every inch the star of old," wrote reporter Richard Simpson.

The San Jose Mercury News told readers that Jackson had enjoyed a meal of buffalo wings at the Hard Rock Café in Dubai.
Like the Daily Mail, the Mercury noted how happy and carefree Jackson was during his trip.

"The king of pop appeared at ease during his visit to the Arabian Gulf country," the paper reported.

Jackson, 47, flew into Dubai from Bahrain on August 20 and has been touring the city with Ben Sulayem, a multiple Middle East rally champion, and Shaikh Abdullah, son of the King of Bahrain.

After taking a boat trip to The World and The Palm projects, Jackson is thought to be thinking about following in the footsteps of countless other celebrities and buying property in Dubai.

During his visit, he has chatted to fans, posed for photographs and struck those accompanying him with his easy-going and happy demeanour.

The BBC in London contrasted Jackson's "smiling" appearance in Dubai with his rather frail look of recent months.
Entertainment website E Online praised Jackson's "snappy" dress sense during his visit and even speculated on what flavour buffalo wings he chose: Classic Rock (with medium dipping sauce), Tangy Bar-B-Que or Heavy Metal (hot).
The Indianapolis Star described Jackson's trip as "a thriller" for Dubai while New York-based Newsday said Jackson was "relaxed and friendly".

South Africa's Daily News said Jackson was "reportedly thrilled" by the amazing sights he has seen in Dubai, while Al Bawaba in Jordan said the city made "a big impression" on the singer.

Other newspapers in India, Ireland and Lebanon have also written about the pop star's trip and there are more than 200 news reports on websites alone.
