Michael Jackson Conquers Death With New Album. 31-07-'10

Rolling Stone–great about General McChrystal, wrong about Michael Jackson.

The magazine issued a story today about a new Michael Jackson album for November, with quotes from Frank DiLeo, Michael’s manager.

What RS doesn’t say is that the quotes attributed to DiLeo were given more than nine months ago, and answered to other questions. There’s nothing new. DiLeo tells me the last time he spoke to Rolling Stone was before the movie “This Is It” came out. “Everyone knows Sony’s putting out a new album, that’s not new,” says DiLeo. “No one from Rolling Stone spoke to me for that article.”

In fact, this column broke the story that there would be a new Jackson album several times. Jackson co-executor John McClain has been working on selecting tracks and mixing and re-recording.

But McClain is not Bruce Swedien, who was Jackson’s engineer in the studio for all of his famous recordings. McClain has nixed working with Swedien, I am told, which is not so good because Jackson’s unreleased record, “This Is It,” turned out to be a snore when it was prepared this way. McClain, a long time A&R man at A&M, is strong in artist signing and support but is not a record producer.

So tsk, tsk to Rolling Stone. Now we know how General McChrystal feels!

According to Rolling Stone, Jackson has approximately 100 still-unreleased songs from throughout his career -- and the Jackson Estate has already inked a $250 million deal with Sony to release them over the next seven years ... along with reissues of the MJ classics.

Among the unreleased tracks are collaborations with Akon, Will.I.Am, and Ne-Yo.

Barbara Ross Speaks Out On Love Child. 29-07-'10

A woman claiming to be the love child of Michael Jackson and Diana Ross' sister, Barbara, filed documents yesterday requesting a judge allow her to take a DNA test to prove her case so that she can lay claim to "her share" of Jackson's fortune and be granted custody of his children.

Today that woman, Mocienne Petit Jackson, suffered a major blow to her claims when Dr. Barbara Ross, the woman who supposedly gave birth to Mocienne, told TMZ that not only is Mocienne not her daughter but she is also "delusional" and called the whole thing "bizarre."

Dr. Ross Lee stated that it would have been impossible for her to have conceived a baby with Michael Jackson back in 1975 because she never even met Jackson. Ross Lee also said that there was a period of time that Mocienne kept harassing her at her office and she was forced to have her employer contact the police in order to get Mocienne to stop.

Ross Lee said she did respond to one of Mocienne's emails a few years ago to tell her that she was mistaken and to wish her well.

Ne-Yo Torn Over Songs He Wrote For MJ. 29-07-'10

Singer-songwriter, Ne-Yo says that he is torn over what to do with a collection of songs that he wrote specifically for the King of Pop. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the singer says that at the time of Jackson's death, he was sending three or four drafts a week to him for review. He talked about the songs saying,

“The songs are sitting in archives but I really don’t know what to do with them. I can’t sell them on to someone else as that would be disrespectful but I also think it might be disrespectful to bring them out myself. So I don’t know, I’ll sit on them and wait. It’s definitely quality music but they were songs written absolutely for Michael Jackson.”

He went on to talk about conversations he and Jackson had about music saying,

“We talked about the state of music, what he liked and didn’t like. One thing that was interesting is that he views music in shapes and colours and that’s how I think. Melodic and meaningful. Those were the two words which kept coming back to me. Michael told me the melodies needed to be the ones you heard once and could sing back, and the lyrics needed to have meaning and depth. He believed what was wrong with a lot of music today is that people aren’t singing about anything. If it’s not about a party or sex then it’s about money, and there’s not really much to that. Michael told me, ‘I need songs that mean something to somebody and that’s what I need you for.’ I was honoured.”

Fan’s Tattoo. 29-07-'10

Forty-three year old Mandy Taylor was absolutely devastated when Michael passed away last year she has been considering what she could do to remember him. Eventually, life-long fan, Mandy, spent five hours having her tribute to Michael tattooed on her back, and she’s thrilled with the result.

Mandy, who is a catering assistant at Lewes Old Grammar School in the UK said; “I absolutely love it. You take a risk when you get a tattoo in case it doesn’t come out right. But my tattooist Sarah is very clever and it is just how I wanted it. The eyes are my favourite - they are so lifelike.”

Docs Not Named Conrad Murray Cleared In MJ Probe. 29-07-'10

Dr. Conrad Murray is still the lone suspect in the death of Michael Jackson after state investigators announced today that seven other physicians will not be charged.

Attorney General Jerry Brown had launched a probe of seven other doctors who treated Jackson -- mainly looking at the prescribing practices of the physicians.

One of the doctors on the list has been reported to the California Medical Board for prescribing drugs to an alias for Michael. That doctor was not named.

Katherine Jackson -- 'I Haven't Been Doing So Well'. 28-07-'10

Katherine Jackson claims she "hasn't been doing so well" since MJ died -- in fact, according to a never-before-seen interview from last month, the singer's mother has basically been an emotional wreck.

During the moving interview -- which took place before the anniversary of Michael's death -- a visibly upset Katherine claims, "Not a day goes by that I don't think about my son."

The clip was shot by the same website hawking Katherine's new book "Never Can Say Goodbye" -- and according to our source, the footage is all part of a larger documentary on Jackson's life.

As for who's behind the whole project -- we're told it's an equal partnership between Katherine and Howard Mann -- the same guy who co-wrote her book.

Diana Ross' Niece Claims She Is Michael Jackson's Illegitimate Love Child. 28-07-'10

Diana Ross' niece has come forward to lay claim to a piece of Michael Jackson's estate, alleging she is the late King of Pop's illegitimate love child. Mocienne Petit Jackson, who lives in the Netherlands, has filed documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court asking a judge for permission to conduct a DNA test to prove her paternity claim.

The woman alleges she was conceived in 1975 when Jackson reportedly impregnated her mother Barbara, Ross' sister, when he was just 17 years old. Petit Jackson also accuses the "Thriller" hitmaker's mother, Katherine Jackson, of scheming to "abduct" her when she was nine in a bid to preserve the superstar's "reputation".

The legal documents state her seven kidnappers were later murdered, according to TMZ. Petit Jackson, who says she has been diagnosed with Vitiligo, the same skin condition Michael Jackson suffered from, explains she's taking court action now so she can "formally claim my part of my father's inheritance".

She is also seeking to claim custody of the pop icon's three children in a bid to give them a "more normal life". Katherine Jackson was handed full custody of her grandsons Prince Michael and Prince Michael II, and her granddaughter Paris following the pop superstar's death in June 2009. Representatives for the both the Jackson and Ross families have yet to comment on the allegations.

‘The Trials Of Michael Jackson’ DVD Is Now Available. 27-07-'10

Try to imagine two filmmakers taking their video cameras in hand to film the hoopla around a celebrity trial... the trial of none other than legendary pop star Michael Jackson. Even though Barry Shaw and Dana Gedrick knew this was no oridnary celebrity trial, it would prove to be far from anything the pair of them had expected to encounter.

For starters, they had not anticipated the fierce extent to which the fans' compassion would influence journalists and media covering the trial, nor had they forseen the extent to which the media's personal feelings and biases would enter into what would be presented to the public. The result was for Barry and Dana to realize that such strong personal feelings on the part of the media all but precluded the hope of presuming innocence.

Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins Talks Working With Michael Jackson. 27-07-'10

Can’t watch this right now, but according to Y2KDaily producer Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins talks about working with the late, great King of Pop, what he learnt during their recording sessions and about releasing some previously unheard MJ material.

…While I respect Darkchild as a producer (the man has produced some monster tracks – I am eternally grateful for everything on Brandy’s Never Say Never album), I really felt he failed on Michael’s Invincible album. Not saying it’s his fault totally – I can only imagine the control freak MJ was – but the beats he made for the King of Pop sounded dated (even back then) and over produced.

The album as a whole wasn’t bad. A couple tracks on there were great (‘Rock My World’, ‘Butterflies’, ‘Whatever Happens’ etc), but generally – it should have been a lot better. I always wonder what it would have been like if The Neptunes got their way and produced Jacksons’ last album. All the songs for Justin Timberlake’s albums were reportedly written and produced for Michael Jackson. Image that. Jeeze. Michael singing ‘Like I Love You’ or ‘Senorita’. Word.

It is unclear whether Jerkins' MJ material will be part of the new album of unreleased MJ songs rumored to be in the works for November, 2010.

Museum Of Dance -- Making Room For MJ Tribute. 24-07-'10

Michael Jackson won't just get a plaque when he's inducted into the Hall of Fame at the National Museum of Dance next month ... dude is getting an entire garden -- thanks to a band of passionate fans.

TMZ has learned museum officials have agreed to make space for a permanent garden to honor the late icon -- after an MJ fan group informed employees that an influx of flowers would be headed their way on the day MJ will be enshrined.

So, instead of just letting the flowers die ... the museum's honchos -- along with a local florist -- decided to construct a permanent garden in MJ's honor on the museum's grounds.

There's a tiny catch -- the MJ fan group is gonna have to foot the bill for the garden -- and the size of the garden will be determined by how much cash they raise.

Michael Jackson’s Children Are Obsessed With Movie Making. 22-07-'10

The legendary singer died in June last year aged 50. His official cause of death was acute Propofol intoxication by intravenous injection of another, and his personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray has been charged with his manslaughter.

Michael is survived by three children, Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Prince Michael II, known as ‘Blanket’. The kids are now looked after by the star’s mother Katherine Jackson, and his brother Jermaine says they are thriving.

“My mother raised nine kids, so she definitely knows how to raise them,” he explained. “They love the film business, and they love being behind the scenes. Blanket loves to dance and sing. Prince and Paris love movies. They can tell you about directors and producers and all that stuff.”

Jermaine explained the whole family are pulling together to care for the children, and help them cope with their grief. Regular dinners are set up so the kids see all their aunts and uncles, and they also get taken on lots of holidays. The trio spent the first anniversary of Michael’s death, on June 25, in Hawaii.

Prince, Paris and Blanket love being with their cousins, and relax by playing video games and going to see animated films.

Jermaine was speaking at a dinner celebrating the fifth annual Children Uniting Nations conference in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, and his brother Randy was also there. Randy echoed Jermaine’s sentiment that Katherine is looking after the kids well.

“I feel Michael everywhere,” he told People magazine. “I know Michael's spirit is so much alive. He's guiding me ... us to just keep things going and keep things the way they're supposed to be.”

A Crystal-studded Michael Jackson. 18-07-'10

Actor Sridevi, who has recently turned into a painter, has ambitious plans of taking her passion forward.

DNA has learnt that Sridevi, who has been a big fan of Michael Jackson, has painted the late pop legend.

What’s interesting is that she has used costly crystals on her painting as sources who have seen it reveal that MJ’s gloves are studded with them.

We have also learnt that this painting is slated to travel the world with exhibitions in Dubai, Mumbai and London.

A close friend of the actor reveals, “Sridevi has fine-tuned herself to become a good painter and the art frat is sitting up and noticing her work.

She has got calls from many galleries not only in India but also abroad to hold her painting exhibition. There are also talks on if she wants to auction some of them to help the underprivileged.”

The informer adds, “The Michael Jackson that she has painted has got many galleries interested. It is a costly piece as high-end crystals are studded on the painting.

People think her painting Jackson is extremely timely. MJ is a legend and people will always lap up things about him. So, galleries feel that this painting that is done by a high profile celebrity can fetch a high price.

Sridevi will be doing shows in Dubai, then Mumbai and will round it off with London.”

Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor confirms, “It is true that we are going to exhibit the Michael Jackson painting done by my wife.

There is a huge exhibition that we have planned in Dubai that will most probably happen next month.

We are all excited with the response that it has already got from the fraternity.”

Michael Jackson Had NO (Zero) Other Kids. 16-07-'10

Contrary to nutty reports today–including one repeated on the site I created for Fox News in 1999– Michael Jackson had no other children besides the ones we know about, Prince, Paris, and Blanket.

Donte Williams Jackson, who lives in the Jackson family home, is generally considered to be the illegitimate offspring of Joseph Jackson. Joe has at least one other child not from his marriage to Katherine, JoVanni Jackson. She’s been acknowledged by Janet and lives in Las Vegas.

Donte might also be the son of Jermaine Jackson. But whoever he is, he is not the mystery child of Michael Jackson. Neither is Omer Bhatti, the sad Norwegian kid who Michael collected in 1996 in Tunisis when he was 12. Omer is the biological son of Riz and Pia Bhatti, who each worked for Jackson subsequently. Omer now cashes in on his Michael connection by doing shows as a Jackson imitator.

The Donte-is Michael’s kid was picked up by Fox411, sadly. I created that column in 1999 and named it. Now it’s used for regurgitated celebrity misinformation. Oh well.

In real and actual news about Michael Jackson’s actual kids: they just returned from a nice trip to Disney World in Florida, after going to Hawaii. They went with cousins Taj and Taryll Jackson, sons of uncle Tito, and bodyguards.

Jackson Family Center Gets Extension. 16-07-'10

On Wednesday, Gary, Indiana's Board of Public Works and Safety approved a 60 day time extension for the transfer of 5 parcels of land to the Jackson Family Foundation. The land is to be given to a developer with the purpose of building a tribute to the family of Michael Jackson in Glen Park.

The deadline on the original deal passed earlier this month but had allowed for extra time if all parties agreed. Attorneys for Gary stated they are waiting for the Jackson Family Foundation to establish status as a not-for-profit entity with the state and the Internal Revenue Service before the land is transferred.

Last month, Mayor Rudy Clay and Joseph Jackson announced plans for the $300 million entertainment complex, to be built where South Gleason Golf Course and Gilroy Stadium are now found. The Jackson Family Center, as proposed, would include a Michael Jackson Performing Arts Center, a Jackson Family museum and possibly a casino.

Michael's parents, Joseph and Katherine Jackson, signed the original agreement approved June 2 by the Board of Works. On July 5, Las Vegas promoter Simon Sahouri's signature appears on the new document, listing him as president of the Jackson Family Foundation and the Jackson Development and Marketing Corp. The document further states that Sahouri is authorized to approve the document on Joseph and Katherine Jackson's behalf.

Sahouri said the goal is still to break ground on the project in 2011.

"When you do a project like this you want to make sure everything's in place," Sahouri said.

Though the Jacksons claim in the agreement to have the rights to use the name and image of Michael Jackson, an attorney for the singer's estate said it owns that right exclusively and has not given its blessing to the Gary project.

Last month, Michael Jackson's brother Randy publicly questioned the validity of the Jackson Family Foundation.

Neverland - A State Park? 15-07-'10

A resolution is in the works to order state parks officials to study converting Michael’s Neverland Ranch, roughly a 2,600 acre property, into a state park. The state NAACP is backing the idea, and a lawmaker has signaled he is on board to carry the legislation.

“I think Michael’s history is world history and I think it would become the number one attraction for the state parks if we could pull it off,” said state NAACP President Alice Huffman, who also serves on the state Parks Commission. Huffman added that in addition to celebrating Michael’s contributions to music and pop culture, Neverland would join Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park as state parks honoring African Americans. Those factors, she said, would make Neverland a “great, great addition to the state parks system.

Colony Capital who currently control the estate have inferred in the past that the sale price would be in the region of $100 million, but a states park spokesman has said that at this time they have no interest in acquiring the property.

Fans Offer To Clean Up Michael Jackson's Vandalized Tomb. 14-07-'10

Members of a Michael Jackson fan club have reached out to officials at the star's resting place in California, offering to clean up the King of Pop's vandalized tomb. Bosses at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California, where the singer was interred following his death last year, were left fuming recently after discovering Jackson's memorial has been defaced with permanent ink tributes.

They stepped up security onsite in a bid to deter fans from penning messages on the tomb - but a number of Jackson's followers are keen to help out. Several members of the Official Michael Jackson Fans of Southern California group, who visit the site monthly, have offered their cleanup services at the cemetery, according to TMZ.com.

One fan tells the website the group wants to "fix this mess" so Jackson fans aren't banned completely from paying their respects at Forest Lawn.
