Mark RonsonMichael Jackson Was 'Pied Piper' To Kids. 30-09-'10

Michael Jackson was like a ''magical pied piper'' to children, according to producer Mark Ronson, who enjoyed regular sleepovers at his house when he was growing up.

Michael Jackson was like a "Pied Piper" to children.

Mark Ronson - who often enjoyed sleepovers at the late pop superstar's home when he was growing up - is amazed at the way kids just seemed to be drawn to the 'Smooth Criminal' singer.

He said: "All kids love Michael Jackson, he had some sort of effect. I would watch footage of him when I was older and you'd see these kids of 12 and 13 who weren't even born the last time he put out a good album but they'd be screaming and fainting.

"It's just so crazy that in some ways he was like this magical Pied Piper."

The 'Bang Bang Bang' hitmaker grew very fond of Michael - who died in June 2009 of acute Propofol intoxication - because he always acted like a "big kid".

Mark added to ShortList magazine: "He was just like a big kid. He just seemed like a kid that never really got to grow up."

The 35-year-old producer recently revealed he feared he would be beaten up by his schoolmates if he told them about the sleepovers he attended alongside Sean Lennon - the son of Beatles legend John Lennon - at Michael's home.

He explained: "If I bragged about it I knew that one of two things would happen: a) the kids would think that I was full of s**t or b) they would think I was obnoxious and I'd get a slap for it. All in all, it was better to say nothing."

Quincy Jones About Bringing Out Unreleased MJ Tracks And ‘Thriller’. 30-09-'10

Quincy Jones had spent years recruiting big names in hip-hop and soul (Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, John Legend, Akon, Usher, Robin Thicke) to re-record his classic songs for the tribute LP ‘Soul Bossa Nostra’ (out November 9th). In an interview with Rolling Stone Jones talks about the new disc and how he feels about putting unreleased music from Michael on an album.

I’ve been hearing lots of rumors that unreleased Michael Jackson music is coming out later this year. Do you know anything about that?
No. I don’t know what they’re talking about putting out. T-Pain does “P.Y.T.” on this album, though.

Do you think they should be putting out unreleased music?
“I’d have to hear the songs first. I can’t comment on them ‘cause I don’t know what they are planning on doing. There are always lots of songs left over. To get nine songs on ‘Thriller’ we had to look at 800. To be honest, I then had to decide which four songs were the weakest. I then took those out and added in ‘Lady In My Life’, ‘P.Y.T’, ‘Human Nature’ and ‘Beat It’. It turned the album upside down, man.”

When you were making Thriller, did you ever think it would be as massive as it was?
“Nobody knew that. Everybody who says they knew are lying, man. The best thing to do is to make a record that gives you goose bumps. That is all I know to do. Focus groups and surveys and all that shit … I don’t believe in that shit.”

“I talked to Michael in London while he was selling all those ‘This is It’ concert tickets. He sold 50 concerts out and could have done 20 more. He was going to bring the kids in one day, and I had a meeting that night, so we said let’s just do it in Los Angeles. That was the last time I ever talked to him. Everywhere I go, from to Shanghai to Ghana to Beijing — hell, even to Abudabi, Dubai, Cairo, Monte Carlo or Rio — you will hear Michael Jackson. I feel very blessed to have worked with him.”

Jackson's Ex-Manager Demanding To See Financial Records. 29-09-'10

Michael's one-time manager and adviser DR. TOHME TOHME has filed legal papers demanding to see the late star's financial records to aid his creditor's claim.

Tohme alleges he is owed millions of dollars from Jackson's estate after organising a deal to save the late Thriller hitmaker from financial ruin.

He insists he persuaded bosses at Colony Capital LLC to hand over $23 million (£15.3 million) to save Jackson's Neverland ranch - but he was never rewarded for his efforts.

Tohme, who is demanding the $2.3 million (£1.5 million) Jackson allegedly promised him, is now stepping up his bid by asking for the singer's financial documents be made public.

On Tuesday (28Sep10), Tohme's lawyers filed papers arguing he and other creditors should have access to a report that was filed by Jackson's estate administrators last week (end26Sep10), which details the singer's finances.

Tohme is requesting to see revenue, expense and profit information that is not publicly available, reports the Associated Press.

Planet Michael Developer Interview. 29-09-'10

Nick Cowen talks to Josh Gordon, Vice President of Development at SEE Virtual Worlds about Planet Michael, the MMO video game based on the life and works of Michael Jackson.
The news that developer SEE Virtual Worlds was planning an MMO video game based on the life and work of Michael Jackson, which emerged last week prompted more than a little confusion.

How would it work? What would it look like? How would it compete in such a tough market dominated by the likes of World Of Warcraft, Lord Of The Rings and EVE Online? Most important of all, was it all a hoax? Well, it turns out that, no, Planet Michael is scheduled for release on PC next year, and according to SEE's Vice President of Development, Josh Gordon, the developer is confident that the King Of Pop's appeal will prove a massive draw amongst gamers.

So, first of all, according to the press release "Planet Michael is an MMO based on the life and works of Michael Jackson." How exactly is that going to work?

How do you mean?

Well, I have to say, when I heard Planet Michael was happening, it immediately filled my mind with that scene from Being John Malkovich when John Malkovich goes inside his own head and sees a world entirely populated by him with everyone saying, "Malkovich. Malkovich. Malkovich." over and over again.

(Laughs) I do remember that scene! Right! I guess your question is "what is Planet Michael"? OK, well, are you familiar with MMO's?

Michael's Nephew Releases First Single. 29-09-'10

24 year old Austin Brown, nephew of the King of Pop says that his debut single, the Rodney Jerkins-produced 'Target Practice,' is a "Gloria Gaynor-inspired melody, kind of disco-y, but new age." Brown also says that he had some of the greatest musical influences in the world with his famous family and give much of the credit to his mom and his uncle Michael.

Brown's mom is Rebbie Jackson, the eldest Jackson sibling, and Brown says of her,

My mom really would always sit with me and show me what inspired her, so if it was watching 'That's Entertainment' and watching Cyd Charisse, Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, that's what she grew up on and that's what she showed me, early Elvis videos. My mom always knew and always made sure to make it very important that I had a knowledge of where things came from. That's where my whole interest in music really started from -- my mom really schooling me on the basics."

Of his uncle Michael, Brown says,

When I was 12 years old my uncle Michael bought me a portable DVD player when they just came out and bought me 'Purple Rain,' That's how much of a Prince fan I was. The DVD player, I thought that was cool, but when I saw 'Purple Rain' I freaked out and screamed."

My uncle's the greatest to ever do it, period, and he did it for everyone who's in music. He's influenced everyone, including myself, and I'm just a new artist who loves making songs and is stepping into this like anybody else."

Brown also talked about his uncle's fans saying,

"They're amazing. They're loving, heartfelt, loyal and they just support anything and everything that's his. It's one of the most amazing, loving things and he was so devoted to his fans. It's something I grew up seeing my whole life, so it's just how it's been."

Michael Jackson’s Former Body Guard Claims Blanket’s Paternity. 28-09-'10

Michael Jackson's former bodyguard with claims he donated sperm to the star.

Michael Jackson's former bodyguard is claiming he donated sperm to the late pop star - and believes he could be the father of Jackon's son Blanket.

Martial arts expert Matt Fiddes, 29, says he donated the sperm in 2001 after Jackson told him he wanted an 'athletic' child.

Matt, of Barnstaple, Devon, claims the star offered him £500,000 for the sperm but he turned the money down and donated it for free.

The following year Blanket was born and Matt says he was told the baby was his by Mark Lester - another Jackson sperm donor thought to be the father of his daughter Paris.

Matt remained friends with Jackon and as Blanket grew up Matt began to notice a number of similarities between them.

Rare Photos Of Michael Jackson To Land On A Paris Auction Block. 28-09-'10

Never-before-seen portraits of Michael Jackson will be auctioned by Pierre Bergé and Associates on December 13 at Paris’s Salomon de Rothschild Hotel. In the photos, Jackson wears a brightly-studded Yves Saint-Laurent tuxedo jacket, his left eye encircled with sparkly blue make-up. The highlights of the auction are four large images commissioned by Jackson with opening bids of €1,000 ($1,350). Bids will start at €500 ($675) for 55 smaller prints and 31 contact sheets, some of which feature notes that were hand-written by the King of Pop himself.

The story behind the photo shoot begins in 1999, in a palace in London. Jackson was flipping through the Sunday Times and was mesmerized by the cover of the style magazine. It featured an androgynous beauty, model Astrid Munoz, as captured by 23-year-old photographer Arno Bani. Fascinated by the model's iridescent metallic make-up and her statue-like appearance, Jackson was determined to ask the fashion photographer to create a similar portrait for the cover of his forthcoming CD "Invincible."

Although music executives ultimately chose another image for the album, the meeting between Jackson and Bani at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria led to a fruitful two-month collaboration in Paris. Given carte blanche by Jackson, Bani hired fashion and make-up superstars Jérôme Dreyfuss, Topolino, Frédérique Lorca, and Maïda for the shoot. Bani recently told the French news program Le 19:45 that he remembers Jackson as kind, giving, and a good listener, and described their photo sessions as harmonious and close-knit.

Bergé and Associates also produced 2,009 collectible "luxury boxes" (the number of the edition is to honor the year of Jackson’s death) that cost €1,000 and contain prints of the four portraits signed by the photographer as well as a bilingual catalogue. 1,936 luxury boxes currently remain available for purchase. Fans on tighter budgets can acquire a catalogue in French or English for €42.75 ($57.65, large hardcover edition) or €18.91 ($25.50, small soft cover edition). All these items go on sale on October 20, but copies can currently be reserved.

Michael Jackson's Son -- Healing The World. 28-09-'10

Michael Jackson's son Prince is taking after his father -- TMZ has learned the 13-year-old went on a field trip last Thursday ... but instead of going to a museum or an aquarium, dude packed food for starving children.

It was all part of a charity event organized by The Buckley School -- we're told Prince and his classmates stopped by an L. A. warehouse owned by the Children's Hunger Fund ... and assembled over 500 20-pound boxes for children in Peru.

According to sources, the boxes contained all kinds of food -- including canned goods, beans, rice, and pasta.

Yum.

The King of Pop dedicated much of his time and money to help various children's charities during his lifetime, including donating cash to aid the victims of 2005's Hurricane Katrina, helping to organise a benefit concert following America's 9/11 terrorist atrocity, and setting up the Heal The World Foundation, which hands over funds to help various causes.

New MJ Album Details And A 3-DVD Box Set. 28-09-'10

Fans who watch the internet closely have noticed that new details about Michael’s new album are leaking bit by bit every day on the internet. Rumours, speculations and insiders reporting about information regarding the new album. In the mean time we are all looking forward to the official confirmation from Sony Music or the Michael Jackson Estate.

On of the most amazing reports is about an unannounced 3-DVD box set, titled ‘Vision’. According to a Facebook post by Andre Harris (Andre Harris and Marsha Ambrosius wrote and composed ‘Butterflies’ for the ‘Invincible’ album) this 3-DVD box set is set to be released around the same date has the new album and the Wii game ‘The Experience’.

According to the post this is 100 % confirmed by Sony Music. The details are said to be given in an e-mail from Sony Music USA in the morning of September 24th. Harris also says ‘Vision’ will contain a new music video for the first single of the new album.

Harris explains that the promotion around the projects is going to be BIG, they are all coming together. In addition to a party in Sydney, Sony Music is also planning an event in LA and London as well as other locations around the world.

From another corner reporter Roger Friedman says today he got confirmed from Sony that the release date has not been set yet, but it’s definitely going to be before Christmas.

According to Friedman, four of what might be 12 tracks will be derived from sessions Michael did with Eddie Cascio in his suburban New Jersey studio three years ago. At least one of those tracks was originally co written and produced by Eddie’s brother Frank Cascio for an R&B singer named Bobby Ewing.

Some of the other tracks are said to be out takes from Michaels’ albums, a Paul Anka song called “Love Never Felt So Good” from the session that produced the title track for “This Is It.”

Michael Jackson Estate co-executor John McClain is in charge of the project. Sources say that McClain’s been relying heavily on Michael’s brother, Jackie Jackson, for help since he’s not, technically, a music producer. Rodney Jerkins and Akon are also working on tracks.

Also Lenny Kravitz is named regarding the new album and Teddy Riley is even sending out messages on Twitter about the project. According to Riley Michael is going to be very proud about the job they are doing.

Friedman also reports that the Michael Jackson Estate is also working on another project including a documentary or reality show about the putting together of the new live Cirque du Soleil project.

Soul Train’ Officially Coming To DVD. 25-09-'10

Lots of bootleg “Soul Train” clips are floating around the Internet, but a new deal has been signed with Time Life for an official three-DVD release full of vintage performances from the long-running dance series.

Cornelius was never inclined to release an official DVD package, telling Reuters in 2008 that it was acceptable to leave money on the table.

But he sold the “Soul Train” franchise two months later for an undisclosed sum to multimedia firm Madvision Entertainment. Its three principals promptly declared it to be an undervalued franchise and set about to take full advantage of its worth.

The DVD package follows the release of a documentary that aired earlier this year on VH1. Plans are also underway to revive the annual Soul Train Music Awards, which ended their 22-year run in 2006 after being increasingly ignored by the African-American stars the event aimed to honor.

Cornelius, now 73, had little involvement with the DVD release, apart from sitting down for an interview that appears in the extras and fact-checking a press release.

The DVD focuses on the show’s heyday in the 1970s. Among the offerings: Sly and the Family Stone’s “Dance to the Music,” Gaye’s “Distant Lover,” a Wonder medley of “My Cherie Amour,” “Sir Duke” and “I Wish,” and the Jackson 5′s “I Want You Back.”

Most of the acts lip-synched, but others like Brown and Barry White insisted on keeping it real. White brought along his orchestra for a segment that included “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe” and “Love’s Theme.”

As he eases into retirement with his health intact, Cornelius is trying to revive a “Soul Train” movie after the project was dropped by Warner Bros, reports Reuters. He does not give much thought to his own legacy, and minimizes his role in the starmaking process.

“People constantly want to give me credit for making stars,” he said. “We never made anybody. We scratched each other’s backs. We didn’t make anybody’s career just because they got their first major exposure on ‘Soul Train.’ They were gonna be stars anyway.”

Katherine Jackson: Who Can Live On $26K A Month? 24-09-10

Katherine Jackson can't make it on a $26,000-a-month allowance ... so she's asking for more.

TMZ found a judge's order filed yesterday in the Michael Jackson Estate case, in which the judge notes, "Counsel will give notice of proposed action re: adjustment to family allowance for the benefit of Katherine Jackson."

TMZ has already reported Katherine pulls in a temp allowance of $26,804 a month.

The document does not say how much more Katherine wants, but it's pretty ironic since she's making a lot of money on the side.

New Book Offers Inside Look At Captain EO. 24-09-'10

The unofficial, unauthorized and uncensored Disney history stories that have never been told will finally be revealed with the release of the new Ayefour book, The Vault of Walt by internationally renowned Disney Historian Jim Korkis.

Jim Korkis is a well known and respected Disney historian who has been researching and writing about Disney history for over thirty years. He interviewed and created long lasting friendships with Disney Imagineers, animators, entertainers and their Disney cast members, always checking the information with obscure documents he located through painstaking time, effort and expense.
While The Vault of Walt concentrates on the many worlds of Disney, it is the only book to cover the entire story of the creation, filming and Disneyland premiere of Captain EO in the words of the talented people who worked closely with Michael Jackson on the project.

“I’d have Michael dance improvisationally to the music and tried to expand it into something that forty dancers could do,” recalled choreographer Jeff Hornaday. “Michael was a composer, a co-choreographer, a dancer, a singer, an actor, a collaborator on every level and in each case, he collaborated with an amount of passion unequaled by anyone else on the show.”

“The book is called The Vault of Walt because these are the ‘lost’ stories that have been locked away for decades and forgotten. Now is the time to open that vault and hare them with a wider audience because they provide a fascinating perspective on Disney achievements and events,” said Korkis. “In addition, they are an awful lot of fun.” In an e-mail from Jim Korkis, he emphasized that "no other source provides the full story of Michael Jackson’s unique Disney contribution."

Michael Jackson's Son Attends Tribute To Bambi Charity Event For Kids. 24-09-'10

Prince Jackson, Michael Jackson's son took center stage at the "Tribute To Bambi" charity event in Berlin on September 23rd. He presented three handwritten manuscripts of his father's biggest hits: 'Bad,' 'Billie Jean,' and 'Smooth Criminal,' for an auction event to help support organizations in Germany that aid needy children. The auction is to take place on Nov 10, 2011.

Prince said, "With everything I do, I try to build on what my father did. I also try to help and change things, just like he did."

He also presented a copy of his Grandmother's book 'Never Can Say Goodbye' that was signed which he also signed himself live on the show.

The fact he wore a black tie and red shirt was also noteworthy, as it was one of the legendary singer's favourite fashion pairings.

Four hours after the auction opened, the manuscript for 'Bad' was already at $20,400. Bidding will continue until Nov. 10 at United Charity. All proceeds will go to charities benefiting disadvantaged children.

At the end of the charity event, a choir of 30 children sang Michael Jackson's hit song, 'We Are The World,' moving some in the audience to tears.

Michael Jackson -- To Pay Or Not To Pay. 23-09-'10

The Michael Jackson Estate made some interesting calls when it came to creditors -- who got paid, who didn't, and who's still waiting.

The estate made a bunch of decisions on creditors' claims, but four stand out.

-- Dr. Arnold Klein submitted two claims for medical services in the months before Michael Jackson died -- totaling $58,522.89. Pretty ironic, since some people in the Jackson world believe Klein contributed to MJ's death. The estate has taken no action so far -- neither rejecting nor paying the dough.

-- Tom Mesereau, the lawyer who did a remarkable job in Jackson's 2005 molestation trial. Mesereau submitted a claim for $341,452.05. The estate paid the lawyer in full.

-- Kai Chase, the cook who was at Jackson's home the morning he died and the woman who interacted with Dr. Conrad Murray that day, submitted a claim for $8,000. The executors compromised with Chase and settled the claim by making partial payment. This one is interesting because some of MJ's family got pissed off when she made the rounds on TV following his death.

-- Raymone Bain, MJ's longtime publicist and friend who had a mega falling-out with Jackson, had filed two claims totaling $404,000. The estate rejected the claim and Bain sued. The court tossed her case out.

Jackson Executors: How We Turned It Around. 23-09-'10

The executors in the Michael Jackson Estate have just filed legal docs explaining how they turned chaos and financial ruin into a booming, postmortem business.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Jackson owed 10's of millions of bucks at the time he died. We've previously reported how the Jackson family was about to lose their home in Encino and Jackson was on the brink of going belly up.

Executors John Branca and John McClain turned things around in a big way, for two primary reasons. First, they restructured all of his debts and got creditors to significantly lower killer interest rates.

Secondly, the executors went full bore to generate revenue -- and the brass ring was the movie, "This Is It." According to the docs, the flick grossed $260,000,000, the most lucrative documentary in history.

As for the album, "This Is It," it sold 5 million copies, making it the 3rd biggest album in 2009.

As for other deals, the executors:

- Republished the "Moonwalk" book
- Made mega-merchandising agreements for all things Jacko
- Distributed a leather-bound, coffee table book on the life of MJ
- Renegotiated MJ's royalty agreements with record label

But there were lots of legal fees that were incurred to make the estate money -- more than $3.8 million since Jacko's death.

The estate also notes what we've already reported -- that they paid off the Jackson family home in Encino, bought Katherine Jackson a car and did lots of other stuff for the family.

Estate Licenses Virtual 'Planet Michael'. 21-09-10

The Michael Jackson estate has entered a licensing deal with a Los Angeles company to create an online virtual world based called "Planet Michael."

The planet will live inside the Entropia Universe, a so-called "massively multiplayer online" game with about 100,000 active users. It is run by the Swedish company Mind Ark.

According to their website, a Entropia Universe is an advanced 3D online virtual environment with dynamic planetary systems. The universe is segmented into individual planets, each one offering a unique experience geared towards select target audiences. In Entropia Universe, the participants can choose to travel between the planets to constantly experience new entertainment content.

The estate will work with game publisher SEE Virtual Worlds to develop the game for release in 2011. In it, fans will be able to collect and trade virtual Jackson merchandise, and earn credits by performing challenges related to his music and dance moves.

As in other virtual worlds, players who want to buy more credits can replenish their game accounts using real money.

The Swedish company MindArk, which operates the Entropia Universe online service, ap- proached SEE about entertainment properties that might be worthy of virtual-world treatment, and Biallas contacted the Jackson estate. "They loved it and said this could actually be something where we could also transmit the ideas (and) the vision that Michael had, and not make it just a game but make it a social-interacting platform."

In addition to areas based on songs such as Thriller, Beat It and Smooth Criminal, there might be an altruistic area based on a song such as Heal the World. Players will be able to donate to charities as well.

"We believe this online social gaming experience will bring the most passionate Michael Jackson fans together with those just discovering his artistry in a unique environment where they can celebrate his music, his art and his devotion to helping those in need," says an e-mailed statement from Jackson's estate and executors.

Lobbyists Use MJ's Death To Restrict Propofol. 20-09-'10

Michael Jackson's death is Exhibit A for California lobbyists who are pushing for a law restricting the use of Propofol.

Michael's Law is being pushed by a group of people ... all of whom have lost loved ones to the misuse of Propofol. They've been going door-to-door in L.A. and Santa Barbrara -- handing out leaflets that describe the drug and how it killed MJ.

Their goal is "to prevent doctors from making careless choices, and stop them from administrating drugs that should not be administered outside of the hospital setting."

The Drug Enforcement Administration just announced it's considering tighter restrictions on Propofol.

Michael Jackson's Kids 'Defence Witnesses'. 19-09-'10

Two of Michael Jackson's children may be called as defence witnesses to the trial of the late singer's doctor Conrad Murray, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Michael Jackson's children could be called to the trial of his doctor Conrad Murray as defence witnesses.

The doctor - who is facing manslaughter charges after being accused of administering a lethal amount of the anesthetic Propofol to Michael Jackson prior to his death on June 25, 2009 - reportedly plans to call Prince Michael, 13, and 12-year-old Paris to his trial next year.

He is said to believe the late 'King of Pop's offspring will reveal their father had long-standing addictions, and had been ill for months prior to his sudden death.

An insider explained to the News of the World newspaper: "If they back him it will work well in the eyes of a jury."

If they back him it will work well in the eyes of a jury. A preliminary hearing - which will see prosecutors lay out some of the evidence against Dr. Murray - is due to take place on January 4, 2011.

Katherine: MJ Feared People 'Wanted Him Dead'. 17-09-'10

Katherine Jackson says her son, Michael Jackson, told her "several times" that he felt like people "wanted him dead" ... and she believes his paranoia was a product of the molestation allegations.

In an interview for Michael Jackson Secret Vault, Katherine said, "One of the reasons I think that [Michael] knew people didn't want him around any longer" was due to the "vicious rumors about him molesting children."

Katherine goes on to say that "mean, evil, vicious people didn't want him around for some reason" ... then adamantly states she believes those people were "greedy."

AEG Live Reacts To Jackson's Mother And Three Kids Lawsuit. 17-09-'10

The promoter of a concert series Michael Jackson was supposed to give in London in 2009 has now reacted to a lawsuit filed by the late singer's mother, Katherine Jackson, and his three kids against them. On Thursday, September 16, concert promoter AEG Live released a statement, claiming they had nothing to do with the hiring or supervision of Dr. Conrad Murray.

"The lawsuit is inaccurate, unsubstantiated and meritless," attorney Marvin S. Putnam said in a statement released by AEG Live LLC. "Dr. Murray was Mr. Jackson's longtime personal physician. AEG did not choose him, hire him or supervise him. That said, and in honor of our professional relationship with Mr. Jackson and his Estate, we will have no further public statements."

Katherine, along with Michael's three children, filed the wrongful death lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, September 15. The suit read, "AEG had legal duties to Michael Jackson to treat him safely and to not put him in harm's way."

"But AEG, despite its knowledge of Michael Jackson's physical condition, breached those duties by putting its desire for massive profits from the tour over the health and safety of Michael Jackson," the documents further read. It also mentioned that AEG's contract with Michael "created a legal duty for AEG to act reasonably toward the physical well-being of Michael Jackson."

Katherine Jackson Sues AEG Over Michael's Death. 16-09-'10

Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson's children are suing AEG Live -- claiming the company breached its agreement to provide physical care for Michael Jackson -- and that AEG was negligent in their hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray as MJ's physician.

In the suit, Katherine claims AEG's contract with Michael "created a legal duty for AEG to act reasonably toward the physical well-being of Michael Jackson."

In the document, Katherine also blames AEG for hiring Dr. Murray without a proper background check -- claiming, "AEG did not provide a doctor who was truly looking out for Jackson's well-being and did not provide equipment."

The suit also alleges AEG caused emotional distress to Michael's son Prince because he witnessed Michael suffering and dying, and "he was put in a position as bystander to these tragic events."

Kenny Ortega, who produced the planned London concerts for Michael, is also named as a defendant.

The attorney who filed the suit, Brian J. Panish, released a statement saying, "The purpose of this lawsuit is to prove to the world the truth about what happened to Michael Jackson, once and for all."

Dr. Murray Targets Arnie Klein In MJ Death. 15-09-'10

Dr. Conrad Murray is going after Michael Jackson's longtime physician and friend, Dr. Arnold Klein, claiming Klein is at least partly to blame for the singer's death and should be a defendant in Joe Jackson's wrongful death lawsuit.

In legal papers filed today and obtained by TMZ ... Dr. Murray challenges Joe Jackson's decision not to name Dr. Klein as one of the physicians allegedly responsible for his son's death.

In the new docs, Murray quotes from Joe's lawsuit, "Dr. Klein may have been medicating Michael Jackson up until or even beyond June 18, 2009, less than one week before Michael Jackson's death."

And Murray continues quoting from Joe's lawsuit that Dr. Klein "prescribed or may have over medicated Michael Jackson including to such point that AEG Live, LLC had to hire Dr. Murray in order to separate Michael Jackson from Arnold Klein."

And Murray goes on to quote Joe's lawsuit which claims "AEG Live, LLC read Michael Jackson the proverbial 'riot act' to get him to stop subjecting himself to overmedication by Dr. Arnold Klein."

So with all that, Dr. Murray concludes, "The plaintiff [Joe Jackson] does not explain why, given these allegations, Dr. Arnold Klein is not a required party to be added to accord proper relief."

In other words ... why didn't Joe sue Arnie?

As TMZ first reported, Dr. Klein shot Michael full of Demerol -- 51 injections in a 3-month span, right up until the week of his death.

Dr. Murray also points the finger at other doctors who treated Michael Jackson, citing TMZ stories revealing that 7 doctors other than Murray were fuelling MJ with med's at or near the time of his death.

Murray's team also asked the court to dismiss Joe's wrongful death lawsuit -- claiming Jackson doesn't have the right to file because he's not a beneficiary of MJ's estate.

MJ Cemetery Charging 3 Bucks To Leave Gifts. 15-09-'10

It's gonna cost Michael Jackson fans if they want to continue leaving gifts inside the King of Pop's mausoleum -- because TMZ has learned the cemetery is now charging a special $3 MJ delivery fee.

According to sources at the infamous burial space, Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, CA has decided to take down the stage where fans were previously allowed to place gifts -- and are now enacting a new gifting policy ... so long as fans pay the price and abide by the rules.

Effective immediately, cemetery staff will take gifts for MJ inside the mausoleum -- where fans are still forbidden from setting foot -- for a $3 fee ... oh yeah, as long as those gifts are flowers.

Anything else -- teddy bears, posters, picture frames, candles -- will get dumped ... and if they run out of space inside, we're told excess gifts will have to brave the elements outside.

Michael Was Ready. 11-09-'10

Mark Cunniffe was the lighting programmer and operator for Michael’s fifty concerts at London’s O2 Arena. Mark has worked with many of the world’s greatest performers including David Bowie, Rod Stewart, George Michael and Stevie Wonder and was delighted to get the call to be involved in Michael’s concerts. In a recent interview Mark said that Michael performed a full show twice on the Tuesday and Wednesday before he died and he “nailed” it both times. “He was stopping to give us notes,” he said.

“I was devastated when he died. Even if he’d done one show, it would have been great to see him do it and take the accolades for it. I think it would have been one of his finest moments.”
After the briefest of hellos with the greatest entertainer we’ve ever had, Mark was thrown straight into work. “In our first meeting he was explaining the lighting notes for ‘Billie Jean.’ It was six weeks before he died and before we moved to the Staples Center for the final rehearsals. He was telling me, ‘I walk on stage, cock my hat, click my fingers and a light comes on.’ I’m writing all this furiously. ‘Then I move over, click fingers, light comes on. I turn to the audience, look this way, look that way, light comes on.’” Mark was grinning at the memory saying; “It becomes a surreal moment. Afterwards, I said ‘thanks very much, Michael’, went back to the control room and was straight on the phone to my kids saying, ‘Guess who I’ve been speaking to.’”
