Dr. Conrad MurrayConrad Murray To Take The 5th In Katherine Jackson Suit. 17-03-'13

Sounds a little weird, but Conrad Murray -- who has already been convicted and serving time for killing Michael Jackson -- will exercise his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination in Katherine Jackson's lawsuit against AEG.

Michael's mom is suing AEG, claiming the company negligently hired and supervised Murray, which resulted in her son's death. Katherine has subpoenaed Murray to explain his arrangement with AEG.

Sources connected with the case tell TMZ ... Murray's lawyer, Valerie Wass, will file legal docs ... arguing she is appealing Murray's conviction, and if it's overturned it's likely he'd be re-tried. If that happens, what he says could still be used against him, so Wass wants Murray to keep his trap shut.

It's pretty crazy, since Murray has already served almost a year-and-a-half. By the time his case is appealed, he'll probably be out.

Katherine and Michael's KidsMichael Jackson Kids, Mom Want Over $40 BIL!!! 16-03-'13

Michael Jackson's 3 children and his mom Katherine want in excess of $40 BILLION from AEG Live for the death of the singer ... TMZ has learned.

We've obtained legal docs which now lay out what Prince, Paris, Blanket and Katherine want from the entertainment company for its alleged negligent hiring and supervision of Dr. Conrad Murray.

The kids want $10 billion for all of the future earnings they claim MJ would have scored had he lived.

They want an additional $50 million for various other damages.

AEG Live claims the $40 billion is preposterous because Michael's career was in a downward spiral following the child molestation allegations, as well as self-imposed exile in the Middle East. They claim the damage claim is based on rank speculation.

Quincy JonesQuincy Jones: 'Working With Michael Jackson Was An Accident'. 15-03-'13

Quincy Jones has talked about his time working with Michael Jackson, saying they came together by accident.

In an interview with Billboard to mark his 80th birthday and forthcoming induction to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the celebrated producer, who worked with Jackson on his albums 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller' and 'Bad', says he met the fledgling solo artist while making 1978 'Wizard Of Oz' adaptation 'The Wiz'. Jackson initially asked Jones if he'd help him find a producer.

"I said, 'Michael, look, you don't even have a song in the picture yet. I don't want to think about that. Let’s get you a song'. He was only on 'Ease On Down The Road', that's all we had. He was so curious, inquisitive. He knew everybody's dialogue [in the film]."

Of their collaborations, which led to the best-selling album of all time in 'Thriller', which has sold around 110 million copies, Jones says he was looking to do something that had never been done before. "I was thinking about the range of his voice. That's the stuff you do, the architecture of your production. Michael was so smart and intuitive. He just hooked onto everything and watched everybody. Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr, James Brown. We put our backgrounds together and we did it."

Jones, who has been nominated for a record 79 Grammy's, winning 27 of them, will be inducted into the Rock And Hall Of Fame on April 18. He said: "It's too early. I'm too young. My age may be 80 but I feel 35."

Michael Jackson's Son Will Testify At His Wrongful Death Lawsuit Trial. 15-03-'13

Prince JacksonPrince Jackson will take the stand in his grandmother Katherine Jackson's civil case against AEG Live - which accuses the company of being responsible for negligently hiring Dr. Conrad Murray to care for the late King of Pop.

The 16-year-old is expected to give evidence on conversations he had with his father about the concert promoter.

A source told RadarOnline.com: 'Prince absolutely plans on testifying.

'Prince very much wants to take the stand and plans to tell jurors about specific conversations he had with his father about AEG. Prince will also testify about the fateful day his father died, as he was an eyewitness to the efforts that were made to save his life.'

Prince's siblings, Paris, 15, and Blanket, 11, aren't expected to testify, however.

In the lawsuit, Katherine, 82, contends that AEG Live - which was behind the late singer's 'This Is It' comeback concerts at The O2 arena in London - were responsible for Dr. Murray, who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter following Michael's death, and failed to properly vet the physician before hiring him.

The Thriller hitmaker died in June 2009 after being administered a lethal dose of Propofol by Murray.

The trial is set to begin on April 2.

Katherine JacksonKatherine Jackson Files Court Documents. 14-03-'13

Katherine Jackson thinks her grandson deserves $9 000 a month to help her care for Michael Jackson's children.

The late singer's 82-year-old mother - who acts as a guardian to his children Paris, 15, Blanket, 11, and Prince Michael, 16, alongside their cousin TJ Jackson - has filed legal documents in Los Angeles asking the court to sign off on her request to have the Michael Jackson Estate pay TJ more than $9 000 a month.

According to the documents, Katherine claims the 34-year-old former 3T singer, who is married and has three children of his own, initially rejected the figure she suggested saying it was too much, however he eventually agreed to the amount as it is roughly the same salary earned by the children's full-time nanny.

Katherine says the salary is justified because TJ spends an average of 300 hours per month caring for the kids - taking them to various appointments and activities including karate, athletics, guitar lessons and on social outings.

She also claims he helps the children with their homework and attends their school functions.

A judge has yet to rule on the case.

Michael Jackson's Kids Prince, Paris And Blanket Are All Actually Named Michael. 13-03-'13

Michael Jackson certainly lives on through his three children.

Prince, 16, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 11, have done their best since their father's tragic passing to maintain some sense of normalcy (Prince's TV gig, Paris' cheerleading) while carrying on the family name with pride. But did you know they also carry their famous father's first name with them, wherever they go?

The three have become such household names (well, there aren't that many "Princes" and "Blankets" out there), that it's easy to forget each child is actually named "Michael." That's right: each child. As in, all three.

Seems like Michael really wanted us to know they were his ...

With Prince, his firstborn with Debbie Rowe, the king of pop flat out went for it with Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. (also known as "Prince Michael").

With his second child and only daughter, he got a little more creative and gave Paris a hyphenated first name to include his own: Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson.

Then with baby Blanket, Michael just kind of said "f*ck it" and threw it all in there, names, nicknames, the works -- hence Prince Michael Jackson II.

Mmm ... at least he's consistent?!

Dr. Robin SmithDr. Robin Smith Says Michael Jackson, Weren't Killed By Drugs. 12-03-'13

In her new book Hungry: The Truth About Being Full, Dr. Robin Smith explores the path to finding fulfillment and true satisfaction. When Dr. Robin sat down with Oprah for an upcoming episode of “Super Soul Sunday,” airing Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m. ET on OWN, the best selling author, psychologist and ordained minister opened up about her personal experience with being emotionally and spiritually starving even when, on the outside, it looked like she had it all.

In this exclusive clip, Oprah says that Dr. Robin was not alone in feeling empty while in her prime. “I think this happens to everybody who has some level of success,” Oprah says. “[You call it being] ‘hungry for the high note.’”

“[In Hungry] I talked about Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston and their early deaths," says Dr. Robin. "People say that drugs killed them. Drugs didn’t kill them. What killed them is that they were striving and hungry. They were starving to hit the high note again.”

Dr. Robin explains, "Whitney said [to Clive Davis] right before she died, ‘I’m going to hit that note again.’”

“Yes, she did,” Oprah says. “And we all know that note was gone.”

In the clip, Dr. Robin and Oprah also discuss Michael Jackson’s metaphorical hunger and the importance of accepting our own particular “high notes” for what they once were, without trying to top them.

Paris JacksonPhiladelphia Eagles Cheerleaders WE WANT PARIS JACKSON! 11-03-'13

Paris Jackson could go straight from high school to the pros ... because she's already drawing interest from the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleading squad ... TMZ has learned.

In fact, Eagles cheer-honcho Barbara Zaun tells TMZ ... she's seen the footage of Paris shaking her pom poms for her prep school's varsity squad recently and was super impressed ... saying, "We think Paris will make a great Eagle cheerleader!"

"We thought that she had a lot of poise, confidence, and enthusiasm in her cheer performance," Zaun says ... adding, "Paris has that 'wow factor' that makes a great cheerleader."

But Michael Jackson's 14-year-old daughter will have to wait a few years before she can join the squad ... because the ShEagles (we just made that up) require members to be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.

Still, Barbara says when Paris is ready to don that Midnight green, black and silver ... Philly is more than happy to give her a shot.

"She is already very comfortable in the limelight, so we think she would definitely stand out and impress the judges ... We hope that she will try out for the team and be an Eagles cheerleader!"

Paul AnkaPaul Anka Releases Duet With MJ. 07-03-'13

Canadian singer and songwriter Paul Anka will release a new album entitled 'Duets' (Legacy) which features a selection of duets with other artists - some of them alive and some appearing through their previous recordings. Source material runs from new recordings to existing recordings with new vocals and arrangements and previously released tracks from Anka’s 1998 album 'A Body of Work'. The duet with Michael is 'This Is It' and will be featuring new vocals and/or arrangements. As you might remember 'This Is It' was the first posthumous Michael Jackson single and was included on the soundtrack to the 'This Is It' movie (2009). After the release, Paul Anka stated that he co-wrote the song with Michael and that they had initially recorded it in 1983 although it was not included on any of Michael's albums at the time. Michael Jackson's Estate moved quickly to resolve the situation, and Paul Anka received 50% of the song's profits.

The complete track list of 'Duest' is as follows:

■ Walk A Fine Line – with George Benson and Michael McDonald (New version featuring new vocals and/or arrangement)
■ Find My Way Back To Your Heart - sung by Paul Anka , background vocal by Tita Hutchison (New recording)

■ She’s A Lady - with Tom Jones (Previously on A Body of Work)

Michael Jackson's Family Sue Concert Promoter Over Singer's Death. 05-03-'13

The Jacksons say AEG Live is responsible for hiring Conrad Murray, physician convicted of involuntary manslaughter
A multi-billion dollar lawsuit over the death of Michael Jackson will go to jury trial next month, a judge has ruled. The singer's mother and his three children are suing AEG Live – the promoter of Jackson's doomed comeback shows at the O2 Arena in London in 2009 – for causing wrongful death.

This week Los Angeles courts unsealed documents relating to the upcoming trial – due to begin on 2 April. The case centres on AEG's oversight of and responsibility for Dr Conrad Murray, Jackson's physician, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter last November for prescribing and administering the drug that killed Jackson. Both Murray and Jackson's elder son, 16-year-old Prince, are on the trial's proposed list of witnesses.

AEG's lawyers insist Murray was not its employee; they claim he worked directly for Jackson. But Katherine and the rest of the family have challenged that claim, saying that AEG brought in Murray as its medical proxy while Jackson was rehearsing for his This Is It gigs, which did not go ahead because of the singer's death on 25 June 2009. Lawyers have pointed to a so-called "smoking gun" email, from AEG's co-CEO, who said, "We want to remind [Murray] that it is AEG, not MJ, who is paying his salary. We want to remind him what is expected of him."

The Jacksons Family

Jackson's family argue that AEG pushed Murray to make sure the singer would be ready for his gigs, disregarding medical warning signs. AEG is also accused of botching Murray's background check – overlooking the large debts that made him susceptible to financial pressure. When This Is It director Kenny Ortega wrote an email to AEG, asking for "professional guidance" to deal with Jackson's "weakened and troubled state", company president Randy Phillips replied: "This doctor is extremely successful (we check everyone out) and does not need this gig so he is totally unbiased and ethical."

According to Los Angeles County superior court judge Yvette Palazuelos, AEG employees' "previous tour experiences" with Jackson would have made them aware that Jackson's "tour doctors" had given him controlled substances. "There is a triable issue of fact as to whether it was foreseeable that … a physician under strong financial pressure [might] compromise his Hippocratic oath and do what was known by AEG Live's executives to be an unfortunate practice in the entertainment industry," she wrote.

If found liable, AEG Live could be ordered to pay more than the entire value of the company – estimated at $8bn (£5.3bn). The Jacksons are seeking a judgment commensurate with the money Michael would have earned had he not died in 2009. "The truth about what happened to Michael, which AEG has tried to keep hidden from the public since the day Michael died, is finally emerging," the Jacksons' lawyer, Kevin Boyle, told CNN. "We look forward to the trial where the rest of the story will come to light."

LaToya JacksonLaToya Denies Dragging Michael Jackson's Kids To Reality Show. 05-03-'13

Michael Jackson's sister, LaToya Jackson, has put out a statement regarding The New York Post's report about her "seizing" the careers of Michael Jackson's children. In the statement released through her publicist Juliette Harris, she calls the report "false" and "derogatory."

On March 3, the publication published an "exclusive" story of LaToya being a gold-digging diva by engaging Prince Jackson (16), Paris Jackson (15) and Blanket (10) in to the entertainment industry. It was reported that the 56-year-old TV personality quietly profited from her deceased brother's children by signing them as the only clients of her Ja-Tail Enterprises talent agency and collecting a 15 percent commission on Paris and Prince Michael's respective deals.

After allegedly signing Paris to star in a movie this year and Prince to be a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight and an actor on The CW's recently canceled "90210", La Toya was also reported to be on a deal with OWN, Oprah Winfrey Network, to feature the kids, herself, and grandma Katherine on a reality TV show. Insiders said bidding has approached $10 million.

This news made the "Just Wanna Dance" singer, who has named her two poodles after Prince and Paris, upset and decide to release a statement. She wanted to clarify that she had nothing to do with any deal the three children had made, and what she had done was helping them when needed. "Furthermore, there is no shopping of a reality show for the children,"Juliette stated.

"LaToya is currently consulting with her attorneys on how to proceed against these false and derogatory statements made by the NY Post and other participating publications," LaToya's rep added.

The siblings will appear in one episode of LaToya's own reality show, "Life with LaToya", on April 13 on OWN.

LaToya Jackson Signed All Three Of MJ’s Children To Her Talent Agency. 04-03-'13

According to the New York Post LaToya has signed all three of Michael Jackson’s kids to her Ja-Tail Enterprises talent agency, which boasts no other clients.

Prince recently signed with “Entertainment Tonight” through Ja-Tail to be a correspondent. LaToya stood with a watchful eye in the “ET” studios last week as Prince made his debut. La Toya also signed Prince to appear on the CW’s remake of “Beverly Hills 90210.”

Paris made a movie deal that will have her shooting later this year in London.

The biggest project for LaToya, who gets a standard 15 percent commission on each deal, would be a reality TV show deal she’s negotiating. Insiders said bidding has approached $10 million. OWN, Oprah Winfrey’s network, is thought to be the front-runner to land the series that would feature Michael’s children, La Toya and Katherine Jackson.

One potential hang up to the OWN deal is Paris’s refusal to do a reality show.
