We've learned Paris -- who went radio silent on Debbie 2 years ago -- has been spending time with her mom since we broke the story last month she's fighting breast cancer. Paris has been visiting Debbie at her ranch and Debbie has gone to Paris' home, where the 2 have reestablished their bond. They're also texting ... a lot.

Debbie and Paris became very close after Paris' dad, Michael Jackson, died back in 2009. But a couple years ago Paris cut all ties ... wouldn't even return Debbie's calls.

We're told Debbie starts her chemo next month, and Paris is at the center of her support system.

'Elizabeth & Michael: The Queen Of Hollywood And The King Of Pop - A Love Story' Book Is Released.
30-08-'16

Elizabeth & Michael: The Queen Of Hollywood And The King Of Pop - A Love Story Book CoverThe book 'Elizabeth and Michael: The Queen of Hollywood and the King of Pop - A Love Story' is today released by publisher Atria Books.

One of the country’s leading authorities on popular entertainment presents an eye-opening and unique biography of two larger-than-life legends—Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson—and their unlikely yet enduring friendship.

From the moment Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson met, they were hooked on each other. He peered into her violet eyes and was transfixed; she, in turn, was dazzled by his talent, intrigued by his sweet-tempered childlike personality, and moved by the stories she had already heard about his troubled early life. Soon a deep friendship blossomed, unexpectedly unlike anything either had ever experienced. Through thick and thin, through their various emotional upheavals, through the peaks and valleys of their careers, through their personal traumas and heartaches, through the unending health issues and extreme physical pain that each experienced, and through the glare of the often merciless public spotlight, their bond held them together, and their love for each other endured.

Donald Bogle skillfully recreates the moving narrative of Taylor and Jackson’s experiences together and their intense emotional connection, without shying away from the controversies that swirled around them. Through interviews with friends and acquaintances of the two stars, as well as anonymous but credible sources, Elizabeth and Michael emerges as a tender, intimate look at this famous “odd couple” and a treasure to their millions of fans.

Michael Jackson's Costumes Show Why Nobody Can Beat The King Of Pop When It Comes To Style.
29-08-'16
Victory Tour

September 24, 2016 will be marked in the United States with the opening in Washington of the long-awaited Museum of African American History.

Outfits from the Jackson's Victory tour will be part of an inaugural exhibition at the African American History Museum.

Even in an era where new pop music is as ubiquitous as coffee shops and music royalty like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Kanye West make headlines nearly every day, Michael Jackson still reigns king as the best-selling artist of all time.

According to the Recording Industry of America, last year Jackson’s 'Thriller' was the first album to be certified platinum 30 times, and has sold 32 million copies to date. For comparison purposes, behind 'Thriller' are the Eagles’ and Billy Joel’s greatest hits albums at 29 million and 23 million albums respectively.

In a gushing Rolling Stone review from 1983, Chris Connelly noted that 'Thriller’s' producer, the acclaimed Quincy Jones, was “working with what might be pop music's most spectacular instrument: Michael Jackson's voice. Where lesser artists need a string section or a lusty blast from a synthesizer, Jackson need only sing to convey deep, heartfelt emotion.”

Jackson wore these sparkly costume pieces on stage in 1984 during the six-month Victory tour, a series of concerts he performed alongside his brothers. Though the tour, named after the Jacksons’ 1983 album, featured all six Jackson brothers, it was clear that the crowds were there for Michael — 'Thriller' hit the top charts almost two years earlier.

MTV VMA's: Drake Presents Rihanna With The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. 29-08-'16

RihannaRihanna was honored yesterday (August 28) with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award during MTV Video Music Awards.

Mary J. Blige introduced the singer as a "little girl from a small island whose dreams came true," commending the accomplishments of her 11-year career.

Rihanna, who performed a total of four times during the ceremony, took the stage to perform a stripped-down version of "Stay" and "Diamonds" before accepting the ceremony's lifetime achievement award.

Frequent collaborator and rumored beau Drake, making his first appearance of the night, stood at the podium to hand her the Moonman, recalling the very first time he met her years ago.

"When it comes to performance, they swarm in masses to be in her presence — obviously," the rapper said, motioning towards Rihanna, who glowed in a silver floor-length ensemble.

"She's someone I've been in love with since I was 22 years old," Drake continued. "She's one of my best friends in the world. All my adult life, I've looked up to her, even though she's younger than me."

Rihanna, Moonman in hand, then began her speech, "My success, it started as my dream. But now, my success is not my own. It's my family's, my fan's, my country's. It's the Caribbean as a whole, women, black women ... I have to thank you guys for supporting me over and over. Thanks to every director who's taken a chance on my crazy ideas."

She ended her speech by thanking Drake for his "amazing speech" and MTV for the award.

The 'Work' singer dominated the show, opening the ceremony with a medley performance of her greatest hits, including 'Don't Stop The Music', and 'We Found Love', and making multiple appearances onstage thereafter.

Days before Rihanna accepted the Vanguard honor, Drake congratulated her achievement by buying a large billboard in Los Angeles that read "Congratulations to Rihanna from Drake and everyone at Ovo."

Past recipients of the award include Kanye West, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

An essential companion to Michael Jackson’s music, films, and books, this work offers 21 original, academic essays on all things Jackson—from film, music, and dance to fashion, culture, and literature.

Michael Jackson is the biggest-selling music artist ever. What qualities made him a star—and fuel his continuing influence?

Michael Jackson is regarded as one of the most important musicians of our time. Going well beyond the average celebrity biography, this comprehensive book looks at why that is true, offering insights into every facet of Jackson’s art, his life, and his artistic afterlife. It looks at the methods by which his work was created, presented, received, and appropriated, and discusses Jackson’s varied personas along with his public and private appearances, albums, conceptual art, short films, and dance, as well as his use of costume, makeup, and reinvention.

To help readers understand the phenomenon that was—and is—Michael Jackson, the book focuses on Jackson’s historical context through an analysis of his films, songs, and books, examining him as an artist and shedding light on the political and ideological debates that surrounded him. Not shying away from the controversial aspects of Jackson’s life and legacy, it also tackles questions of sexuality and racism, gender, and class, comparing Jackson to artists ranging from J. S. Bach to Andy Warhol. Through its examination of Jackson’s entire catalog, the work connects all the aspects of his art and life to exemplify—and explain—the performer’s unparalleled influence in the 20th and 21st centuries.

• Includes a section focused on Jackson’s posthumous work and representation.

Off The Wall Album CoverMichael Jackson In The 200 Best Songs Of The 70's. 26-08-'16

Pitchfork has done a full list of 200 best songs from the 70's as voted by their full time staff and contributors!

Obviously, Michael Jackson is in the mix and here the results:

#31 Michael Jackson - 'Rock With You'

As the master of the single, Michael Jackson’s most memorable songs often feel like individually wrapped gifts of pop perfection—hits that contain entire standalone worlds within them. 'Rock With You' is something of an exception in that, while it certainly sounds immaculate on its own, it sounds even better in the context of 'Off The Wall', for which it serves as the sonic thesis. The album successfully positioned MJ as a grown-up solo artist with a confident vision; 'Rock With You' is the sound of that confidence. There is, of course, a timeless chorus, but the verses that bridge the hooks together cement 'Rock With You' as the mature breakthrough Jackson wanted. Instead of the falsetto of album opener 'Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough', he shows his range with a sensual lower register (by MJ standards, at least); like the 20-year-old he was, Jackson seemed eager to try out grown folks’ way of singing.

'Rock With You' is also a pure disco song, arriving at a time when the genre was on its way out. Jackson has been praised for defying trends and delivering greatness into the 1980's, when the song peaked at No. 1, but it took someone like him to grow a bounty on ground no longer thought to be fertile. And so 'Rock With You', while not often reaching the highest echelons of the MJ canon, is a triumph: a slightly surprising hit, a transformative moment, and a groove so moving, it can rock you still. – Matthew Strauss

#2 Michael Jackson - 'Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough'

Michael Jackson was a monumental figure in global culture, but before he secured that legacy, there was a time he had to break out of his mold and navigate the choppy transition from child star to solo icon. Having found lasting fame at an age where most people are still grappling with their multiplication tables, Jackson already had a sizable career behind him when he teamed up with the already legendary Quincy Jones to cut 'Off The Wall', his grand entrance into adulthood.

'Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough' has early versions of all the traits that made Jackson’s 80's music so singular: the playful yet unwavering falsetto, his trademark vocal yelps and gasps (heard here in their incubatory form), the unmistakable ear for what constitutes a mega-hit. The video for the song shows Jackson effortlessly finding the courage to crotch-thrust and soft-shoe his way into his larger-than-life identity. Even if, in some dreary and moonwalk-less alternate reality, 'Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough' hadn’t been the precursor to two decades of pop music innovation, it would still stand the test of time as a seminal gem from an artist just realizing his limitless potential. – Cameron Cook.

Jackson Rape Case Bombshell: Alleged Victim Wade Robson Is ‘At Risk’ Of Suicide! 19-08-'16

Wade RobsonMichael Jackson‘s alleged child rape victim, Wade Robson, could be ready to kill himself over what happened to him years ago, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Robson’s attorneys made the bombshell claim repeatedly in new court documents filed in his molestation case against Jackson’s production companies. (Robson had initially sued Jackson’s estate, but that claim was thrown out in 2015 over statute of limitations concerns.)

A trial is scheduled in the new case next spring, but Jackson’s attorneys recently filed documents demanding that they be able to take Robson’s deposition on August 24. Jackson’s team says it’s just too soon.

“The Plaintiff is a victim of sexual abuse, and has a family history of suicide,” Robson’s attorneys warned.

“As has been seen in our firm’s experience in representing sexual abuse victims over the past decades, abuse victims are at an elevated risk of committing suicide … this is not a risk that is taken lightly.”

Robson “may not be actively suicidal,” they admitted, but said “obtaining his testimony at the earliest possible time is imperative in this litigation, in order to preserve his testimony …”

They continued to insist he has a “heightened suicidality risk” because “suicidality is present” in his family, and he “has lost an immediate family member to suicide.”

Taking his deposition as soon as possible, would be “a precautionary measure,” they insisted.

Robson is already scheduled to undergo an intensive medical examination in the case, which was requested by Jackson’s team. They insisted, ‘the damages claimed … are largely based on emotional and mental injuries and we are entitled to test the fact and extent of his injuries and the cause of his injuries.”

That examination will take place on August 22.

Robson, 33, has made an incredible litany of claims against Jackson and his businesses. In court documents, he’s alleged that Jackson anally raped him, mutually masturbated with him, and forced him into fellatio. The documents claim that Jackson committed these acts between 1990 and 1997 at “his ranch in Santa Barbara County” and elsewhere.

He said he suppressed the memories for year and only recently remembered them through therapy.

He had previously denied that Jackson molested him, during Jackson’s 2005 trial against Neverland visitor Gavin Arvizo. Jackson’s estate has denied the latest allegations.

Michael Jackson is one of the most identifiable cultural icons of the 20th and 21st centuries, and we set out to celebrate every facet of an absorbing and prolific life in pop with this very special magazine. We take a step back and pay tribute to the artists that inspired this icon.

Michael created personas for every song, album and video and took inspiration from acting legends like Charlie Chaplin and Laurence Olivier, as much as musicians like James Brown. In Annemarie Latour’s blog Tramping with Chaplin, she draws parallels from Jackson’s and Chaplin’s lives where childhood sorrow and pain were a spark of inspiration for clowning, acting and performing for both of them. Fred Astaire was also a huge influence to Michael’s sense of cabaret and on-stage joie de vivre and their love for each other is well-documented.

We’ve all been influenced by Michael Jackson but we bring you all of HIS influences throughout his life and career.

Snoop DoggSnoop Dogg Has An Unreleased Song With Michael Jackson. 16-08-'16

With 14 studio albums to his name and over 20 years in the business, Snoop Dogg is undoubtedly a pillar in hip-hop.

Snoop stopped by Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning show last week (August 8) while in New York for The High Road Tour. While Ebro, Rosenberg, Laura and Snoop talked about everything from weed strands to his son leaving football, Snoop made it a point to talk about how he was mentored early in the rap game by music titan Quincy Jones. That led Rosenberg to ask their guest if he had ever spent time with pop icon Michael Jackson.

“Yeah, me and Michael got a song together,” said Snoop nonchalantly. “I don’t know if it ever came out though.”

Snoop then proceeded to tell stories of talking on the phone with MJ and even offering him weed at a party one time, complete with a soft-toned Michael Jackson impression.

Michael Jackson Museum, Complex Plans In Limbo. 16-08-'16

Plans for a $300 million Michael Jackson entertainment complex appear to have been relegated to the back burner, if they are even still on the stove.

Discussed off and on while the King of Pop was still alive, plans for a family-oriented complex seemed to take a leap forward when his father Joe Jackson and then-Mayor Rudy Clay announced at a news conference in Las Vegas plans for a $300 million complex in 2009 shortly after MJ’s death.

The artist’s sketch of the proposal promised a lavish landscape on a 10-acre parcel owned by the city between City Hall and the Genesis Convention Center with a hotel, museum and a shopping center with restaurants and a state-of-the-art performing arts center.

The fundraising for the project started at the Vegas event with a check presented for $10,000, and Jackson hosted private events to sell memorial bricks, priced from $100, and other features, such as benches for $1,000.

A year later, the city gave the project a two-month extension to get registered as a tax-exempt nonprofit in Indiana. By then, the project also included a golf course and stadium and a prediction by Clay that construction could begin as early as 2011.

What’s next

Apparently not much.

Asked for an update of the project, Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson said, “While the thought of using Roosevelt School or a portion of it was a part of the previous discussions, there is no update in regard to a Michael Jackson Museum.”

Katherine Jackson Presents The 2016 7th Annual Michael Jackson Tribute, August 26th & 27th, Gary, Indiana U.S.A. 15-08-'16

Michael Jackson’s influence on the world of music has been as far reaching as the vast oceans themselves. It would be difficult if not impossible to imagine the world of pop music without Michael Jackson. In a culture where to copy another is to demean oneself, to copy Michael Jackson, to in some way come close to reaching his level of artistry in song or dance is instead an achievement.

Michael Jackson’s songs were special because he was special. From his voice sprang hope and his music brought forth the unconditional love that united a planet full of Michael Jackson fans of all ages, colors, genders and faiths.

So vast, is his legacy which climaxed with 'Thriller' (which is in many ways the greatest album of all time) to this day many of the our greatest music artists proudly declare themselves Michael’s Disciples:
The Weeknd, Usher, Justine Timberlake, Neyo, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, Maroon 5, Janet Jackson. The list is literally unending.
