Sony MusicMichael Jackson Estate And Sony Extend Recorded-Music Deal. 14-12-'17

Sony Music and the estate of Michael Jackson have agreed to a recording deal that will continue the label’s 42-year relationship with the singer and his music, it was announced today by Rob Stringer, Sony Music CEO and John Branca and John McClain, co-executors of Jackson’s estate.

Effective January 1, 2018, Sony Music will extend the term of their administration of Michael’s record catalog in a long term recording agreement. Sony will also have the opportunity to partner on additional projects that the Estate may produce during the term of the agreement.

Sony Music Entertainment CEO Rob Stringer said, “Michael Jackson was an unsurpassed genius and an iconic force in music entertainment. The music—and videos—he made as an artist as part of the Sony Music family are essential to pop culture history. We’re proud to be part of that history, and to find new innovative ways to make Michael’s music available to future generations of fans.”

Branca and McClain added, “We couldn’t ask for more creative and innovative partners than Sony and Rob Stringer (whose history working personally with Michael goes back to the 1990's). Michael continues to inspire generations of artists who have come after him and attract new fans who understand that his music and message are more important than ever. We look forward to continuing to preserve and develop his remarkable musical legacy with Sony.”

To date, Michael Jackson has achieved 40 RIAA certifications and 40 #1 chart positions and 102 Top 5 chart positions. According to a press release, Michael Jackson’s overall worldwide record sales exceed the 1 billion threshold including over 100 million sales of 'Thriller' which remains the biggest selling album in history.

In July, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and the estate announced a long-term extension of Sony/ATV’s worldwide administration of Jackson’s Mijac Music catalog. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded by Jackson in 1980 as his personal publishing company, Mijac Music grew into a formidable catalog, including his own compositions as well as the Sly and the Family Stone catalog and songs by the legendary Philadelphia soul team of Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff, as well as songs made famous by other artists such as Ray Charles, Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin.

Corey Feldman's 1993 Audio Files Naming Alleged Sexual Predators Found By Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office. 07-12-'17

Corey FeldmanThe former child actor claimed in October that he had given the names of sexual predators in Hollywood to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office in 1993 during their investigation into Michael Jackson's molestation charges. The Sheriff’s Office denied those claims, saying they had no records of Feldman revealing such information, until now.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Kelly Hoover told Fox News on Tuesday night (December 5) in an emailed statement, “Following the recent inquiries into the Sheriff’s Office interview of Mr. Feldman in 1993, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office conducted an additional review for any stored items remaining from the Michael Jackson investigation. In a container which included the original reports from the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office located some detective working copies of audio recordings made during the investigation. A copy of Mr. Feldman’s interview was located. The recording is being turned over to the Los Angeles Police Department. Due to the fact that this case involves the alleged sexual abuse of a child, we are unable to comment further and any documentation or evidence related to this case is exempt from release.”

Fox News had originally reached out to the Sheriff’s Office in October at which time they responded, “We are aware of the statements that Mr. Feldman is making regarding an investigation in 1993. Our records do not indicate that he named any suspects."

Feldman's rep told us, "[Feldman] is in possession of the tapes and justice will be served."

Feldman, 46, had claimed in a Today show interview with Matt Lauer that he “sat down and I gave them names. They're on record. They have all this information.”

The "Stand By Me" star has launched a campaign to raise $10 million in order to make a movie about sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry.

Chris BrownChris Brown Previews Michael Jackson-Inspired Song. 05-12-'17

Breezy is back in the lab. Fresh off the release of his 45-track album, Chris Brown is teasing a new Michael Jackson-inspired song.

“Girl, I’ve got a bad, bad reputation, but you do too,” sings Brown in the snippet, which he posted on Instagram. “She said she’s been down, down for a while now / She’s a renegade on the loose.”

Brown captioned the video: 'Vampire Vibe' session MJ kinda night,” which is likely a reference to the beat, which sounds inspired by Jackson’s 'Leave Me Alone' from 1987’s 'Bad'.

This isn’t the first time Brown has been inspired by the King of Pop. In 2012, he reflected on meeting his idol. “That was probably one of the greatest moments in my career ’cause I got a chance to perform for him,” he explained. “People loved the performance. I went backstage and met him. He said hi to my mom. He was respectful. It was just one of those great times in my life.”

But while he idolizes MJ, he doesn’t want to copy him. “My legacy is not to be Michael Jackson, but to just be me,” he added. “I want to make him proud. I don’t want to make it an effort to copy because I hate clones, so I don’t want to be a clone.”

The prolific streak continues for Breezy. Just last week, he shared another new song, “Sirens,” which arrived shortly after dropping his double album, 'Heartbreak' On A Full Moon'. He also recently collaborated with Dave East, Kap G, Remy Ma, and T-Pain.
