Michael Jackson: La Totale (Les 263 Chansons Et 41 Clips Expliqués) Book Is Released. 10-10-'18

Michael Jackson: La Totale (Les 263 Chansons Et 41 Clips Expliqués) Book CoverA brand new book called 'Michael Jackson: La Totale (Les 263 Chansons Et 41 Clips Expliqués)' will be released in France on October 10.

From the first hits with the Jackson 5 to the posthumous songs, it took no less than 608 pages to decipher, analyze and explain all the songs of Michael Jackson and his videos that upset the music industry of the time and inspired the following generations.

After a dazzling career in the Jackson 5 boy band, Michael Jackson built his solo career step by step. In the early 1980's, 'Thriller' became the best-selling album of all time. The Michael Jackson phenomenon will not stop anymore. Singer and dancer of genius, he is the symbol of an assumed and successful musical mixing that makes it possible to break down certain racial barriers. Very often forgotten or too rarely valued, the creative process of Michael Jackson is as fascinating as his works. Songs, short films, duets with other artists or his involvement in film projects reflect his taste for musical and scenic challenges, and his ability to renew himself.

Supported by countless testimonials from collaborators of the star, Michael Jackson, 'La Totale' unveils the secrets of manufacturing, long kept in silence, music and images that are part of the pantheon of pop music.

'They would not let them inside': Michael's brother Jackie claims their father intervened after a hotel banned Aboriginal fans from meeting the Jackson 5 during their Australian tour in the 1970's. 10-10-'18

Jackie JacksonMore than 30 years ago, The Jackson 5 performed to over two million Australian fans as the first black musicians to tour the country nationally.

But while the band, including the late Michael Jackson, received a warm welcome Down Under, founding member Jackie Jackson has recalled a rather confronting incident from the group's visit to Sydney in July 1973.

The 67-year-old told Daily Mail Australia that his late father Joseph Jackson, who was also the band's manager, stood up for Aboriginal fans who were allegedly banned from interacting with the group during their stay.

The Jackson 5, now known as the Jacksons, are an American family band. Formed in 1964, the founding members were elder brothers Jackie, Tito and Jermaine; younger brothers Marlon and Michael joined soon after.

While staying at a hotel in Sydney during their Australian tour, Jackie claimed that the establishment banned Aboriginal fans from meeting the group.

Other fans were apparently allowed entry, however.

He told Daily Mail Australia it was his father Joseph's bold ultimatum that convinced the hotel to reconsider its supposed policy.

Jackie recalled: 'There was a lot of people and a lot of Aboriginal people outside of the hotel and the hotel would not let them inside. My father at the time – he's passed away now -said if they didn't let them inside there'd be no Jackson concert.

'I remember it being like pandemonium. They wanted to see us too and the hotel wouldn't let them in, but my father said, "If you don't let these Aboriginal kids in, the Jacksons are not going on stage".'

'So they let them inside, I remember the whole thing,' he concluded.

As the group returns in 2019 for a national tour, Jackie insisted 'Australia has always been very supportive of the group' over the years and is looking forward to arriving.

The Australian tour, the group's first in five years, will also coincide with the Jacksons' appearance alongside The Village People, Pointer Sisters, Sister Sledge, and Kool & The Gang at The Sydney Summer Series festival in January 2019.

Reflecting on his late brother Michael, who died in 2009 of a cardiac arrest, Jackie said the band continues to pay tribute to him on stage at every concert.

'We sing some of his songs and there's a lot of ballads that we sing. The audience usually cries when they see the pictures go up on the big stage monitor,' he said.

'We're just trying to keep the legacy going. That's what he would want us to do. We're happy to keep his name in the spotlight because he was a special person and people loved him around the world.

'It's a really exciting moment that we get to pay tribute to our brother on stage... any given moment we knew exactly where he would be on the stage – he was always giving 110 per cent.'

Michael was involved in the original Jackson 5 up until 1983 when he began to focus on his successful career as a solo artist.

When Jackie admitted to being protective of his younger brothers while the band toured as a five-piece in the '70s and '80s, he said his siblings were always well behaved as they travelled the world.

'They never got in trouble. They just wanted to be the best they could be on stage, record records and make people happy,' he said.

Jackie added that, unlike many pop stars of today, the band never partied after their performances.

'We were too young to go to nightclubs, so we would end the show, go to the hotel, talk a little bit about the concert, and then we'd go to bed, because it was a business,' he explained.

The Jacksons Tour Dates:
Saturday 12 January - the Domain, Sydney
Sunday 13 January - Sandstone Point Hotel, Brisbane
Tuesday 15 January - Gold Coast Convention Centre, Gold Coast
Wednesday 16 January - Sidney Myer Music Bowl - Melbourne

Will Vinton Dies At 70. 05-10-'18

Will Vinton, well known to the fans for creating Michael Raisin from the California Raisins, creator of 'Speed Demon' characters including Spike, has passed away yesterday (October 4) at the age of 70. Also the father of Claymation, Will won an Oscar and several Emmy Awards for his work throughout the years.

Will was hired by the Disney Studio to produce animation effects for Michael Jackson’s 'Captain EO' in 1986 and got to do 'Speed Demon' for 'Moonwalker' in 1988.

Will Vinton
Will Vinton was an American animator and filmmaker. He won an Oscar for his work and several Emmy Awards and Clio Awards for his studio's work.

Here the very emotional statement from his family:

“This morning our father, Will Vinton, passed away surrounded by love from his family. Will had endured a 12 year battle with Multiple Myeloma, although you never would have known of this fight. For the vast majority of that time he continued forward in his life with strength, positivity, and humor, enjoying tropical get-aways, shepherding new creative ventures, and caring for his two sons, daughter and wife. Will was the strongest man we have ever known, both in his work ethic and his mental resolve. He always said, “Do good work and everything else will follow,” and he never gave up on the things that were important to him. He saw the world as an imaginative playground full of fantasy, joy, and character. He instilled in us the greatest values of creativity, strength, and pride in ones own work. He created stories and characters filled with laughter, music, and powerful lessons that are globally beloved. He brightened any room with his signature mustache, and he continued to make jokes and laugh until the very end. His work will live on in animation history and will continue to inspire creative thinkers and makers.

We grieve heavily as our dad leaves a hole in our lives that will be impossible to fill. His wishes were for us to continue the projects he had started; we will try our best to do so. We will honor him in our own work and strive to always embody his lessons. We ask that his passing be a celebration of his life and work. He wouldn’t want us to be sad or discouraged, but rather to celebrate the wonder and beauty of life in his name. We ask for support and understanding for our family during this time. Please leave a comment if there’s something you would like to share about our father.

We love you Dad – Billy, Jesse & Alex

A celebration of our fathers life will take place at No Vacancy Lounge from 3:00 on Sunday October 21st.

Michael Jackson Pleaded With Hollywood Bosses To Let Him Play James Bond. 01-10-'18

Michael JacksonMichael tried to convince movie bosses that he was the perfect candidate to play 007 at the peak of his fame in the 1980's, according to super-agent Michael Ovitz.

In his tell-all memoir, Ovitz explains: ''We took a meeting at Michael's house. He told us he wanted to be the star of an action movie.''

Ovitz's business partner Ron Meyer struggled to keep a straight face upon hearing the singer's suggestion.

And the situation became even more surreal when Michael's hat fell in a dish of guacamole.

Ovitz recalled: ''He picked it out and put it back on - with a blob of guacamole attached, which began to slide down the brim.

''We all watched as it slid lower and lower while Michael was pitching us hard on how he was America's next action hero.

''Then the blob fell off, and Ron totally lost it. I cracked up, too, and Michael stalked out. I found him and explained for 15 minutes that we hadn't been laughing at him.

''Finally, Michael's face cleared. 'OK, Ovitz. OK,' he said. 'But I want to play James Bond.' I am proud to report I didn't laugh, this time.''

Ultimately, Ovitz had to tell the chart-topping pop star that he wasn't suited to the role, which is one of the most coveted in the movie business.

He explained to Michael that he wasn't the right build for the character and that he was also ''too sensitive'' for the part of Bond.

Ovitz told him: ''You're thinly built, you're too sensitive, you won't be credible as a brutal block of stone.''
