Michael escorts his best friend Dame Elizabeth Taylor to ‘A Musical Celebration’ – A Tribute to Elizabeth Taylor at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The pair arrive on the night arm in arm and stop briefly to pose for a few pictures before heading inside. They sit in a private box on a first tier balcony and Michael stays at Elizabeth’s side the entire evening.

The event boasts a wide variety of musical genres. Performers taking part in the tribute include Tony Bennett, Jamiroquai, Reba McEntire, and Andrea Bocelli to whom Michael and Elizabeth are seen to give a standing ovation after his performance. Between performances, a giant screen showed clips from some of Elizabeth's greatest movies.

At the end of the show Elizabeth takes the stage to address the crowd. After giving her speech, Michael dressed in a long black tailored coat embroidered with a gold crest across the front and with black trousers joins her on stage. Though he doesn’t perform, he presents Dame Elizabeth Taylor with a large bouquet of white flowers and gives her a big hug.

He was very respectful of the fact that this was Elizabeth's night and he was obviously very proud of his friend.

All proceeds from the tribute concert will go towards the Red Hot AIDS Charitable Trust and the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

The couple found themselves in each other's company back in 1975 when Presley attended one of Jackson's family engagements at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino where they were reconnected by a mutual friend.

Around the time that the accusations began against Jackson, Presley supported him through this time, she said; "I believed he didn't do anything wrong and that he was wrongly accused and yes I started falling for him. I wanted to save him. I felt that I could do it." She was apparently the one who encouraged him to go into rehabilitation to recover.

He proposed to her over the phone in 1993; "If I asked you to marry me, would you do it?"

"My marriage to Michael Jackson took place in a private ceremony outside the United States weeks ago... I am very much in love with Michael, I dedicate my life to being his wife." The pair was officially public, even sharing an infamously over-the-top kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards that year.

'Billie Jean' and 'Beat It' were already on heavy MTV rotation when Michael agreed to appear alongside his brothers for Motown’s 25th anniversary television special, but only on condition that he also be allowed to perform 'Billie Jean' in a solo spot.

Produced by Suzanne DePasse – who had been present at the Jackson Five’s audition nearly fifteen years earlier – 'Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever' was taped at Pasadena Civic Auditorium on March 25, 1983 and broadcast nearly two months later on May 16th.

After Michael and his brothers – including Jermaine – performed a medley of their Motown hits, they left the stage while he grabbed a fedora hat while the opening notes to 'Billie Jean' brought the crowd to its feet. In what would become his defining moment in show business, he performed his “moonwalk” dance for the first time during the song’s guitar break before the final chorus.

Michael Jackson Receives The Presidential Special Achievement Award. 14-05-'84

Michael Jackson’s visit to the Reagan White House on May 14th, 1984. "Well, isn’t this a thriller," Reagan began his remarks.

So many reporters and White House staff wanted to see Jackson, Reagan said “I haven’t seen this many people since we left China.”

Reagan called Jackson: "one of the most talented, most popular, and most exciting super stars in the music world today."

Reagan told Jackson he had a message for him from young folks: "They said to tell Michael, Please give some TLC to the PHYs." (pretty young things).

Reagan also urged Jackson to make Washington part of his next tour. "…we want you back," said Reagan. (like the song title. I got that one.)

Jackson had come to the Reagan White House to lend support to the White House program against drunk driving and alcohol and drug abuse.

Reagan said: "Michael, you’ve made it possible for us to warn millions of young Americans about the dangers of drinking and driving."

Reagan commended Jackson saying he’s "proof of what a person can accomplish through a lifestyle free of alcohol or drug abuse."

Reagan said with Jackson’s help, U.S. can face problem of drinking and driving and "beat it." (another title reference I got).

Jackson’s only words at that White House event: "I’m very, very honored. Thank you very much, Mr. President and Mrs. Reagan."

The inscription on the plaque reads: "To Michael Jackson with appreciation for the outstanding example you have set for the youth of America and the world. Your historic record-breaking achievements and your pre-eminence in popular music are a tribute to your creativity, dedication, and great ability.

World Music Awards (08-05-1996)Michael Attend The World Music Awards. 08-05-'96

Michael makes a break in the 'Ghost' shooting to attend the World Music Awards in. He performs 'Earth Song' and receives 5 awards: Best Selling Artist Ever, Best Selling Record of All Time ('Thriller'), Best Selling Male Artist of 1996, Best Selling American Artist, Best Selling R&B Artist.

Michael had just performed the same song at the Brit awards a couple of weeks earlier which had caused a world wide media storm. 'Earth Song', at the time had just been number 1 and one of the biggest songs in Europe.

John Martinotti is an executive producer and co-founder of the show. The awards show is conducted under the patronage of His Serene Highness Albert II, The Prince of Monaco, Monte-Carlo.

Michael also makes a statement attacking critics and the tabloid press angrily denying allegations of anti-Semitism. Michael spoke out saying that he wasn’t blasphemous or racist.

Looking dapper in a black jacket, jeans, white T-shirt and the all-too-familiar one black glove, he spoke to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, “By the way, I love Jewish people”, he said, while leaving the arena and juggling an armload of trophies.

‘Entertainment Tonight’s’ Mark Steines asked Michael what he was going to do with his awards, and Michael responded: “put them in a place of honour."

At the end of the ceremony he gets on stage to hug Diana Ross. He also addresses the controversy over 'They Don’t Care About Us' claiming to never have been anti-Semitic.

Jackson Pays For Burial Of Ramon Sanchez Jr. Killed By Random Shot. 06-05-'92

Michael covers the funeral costs of 9-year old Ramon Sanchez Jr. who was killed by a stray bullet during the LA riots.

Sanchez was fatally wounded when a stray bullet from an apparent drive-by shooting pierced the kitchen window of his family's Watts apartment, striking the boy in the head as he drank a glass of milk.

According to District Attorney Mary Sutton, Michael offered to pay for the full costs of the mortuary, funeral, and headstone just hours after reading that the Sanchez family would not have enough to pay for their son’s funeral.

Sutton said, “This is the first time I’ve ever had anyone contact me totally unsolicited. This man has a special quality about him and I hope his actions inspire others to do the same.”

The family of five, wanting to thank Michael, was taken to the Culver City set where Michael was filming a commercial. Through an interpreter, they expressed their appreciation for Michael’s kindness.
