The promo double maxi-single 'Soul Source: Jackson 5 Remixes (Special Sampler)' of The Jackson 5 is released in Japan UK by Motown/Universal.

The CD Album 'La Coleccion Del Milenium' of The Jackson 5 is released in Venezeala by Motown.

The CD Album 'Super Stars' of The Jackson 5 is released in Italy by Motown.

January 4:

MTV Asia celebrated the end of the Millennium in a big way by selecting and airing the Top 2000 music videos and Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' was chosen as the # 1 Video by MTV Asia. MTV Asia aired all 2000 videos on their "Top 2000 Playlist" countdown with Michael leading at the number one position!

January 8:

Michael is among the stars who contribute performances to ‘An Evening of Stars: A Celebration of Educational Excellence.’
Michael’s performance of 'Earth Song' from Seoul, Korea, was used as part of this annual fundraiser for the United Negro College Foundation. The four-hour telethon was broadcast live in the US on over 70 television stations.

Mid January:

Michael leaves his townhouse in Manhattan and after a few days vacation at Neverland, he resumes the recording sessions in Los Angeles with Bruce Swedien.

January 19:

Michael did an interview with Now magazine, he talks about his children, friends and work in his frankest interview in years.

January 20:

VH1 viewers vote 'Billie Jean' al their number 1 song in the eighties.

February 13:

Michael hosts a party for Prince's 3rd birthday at Neverland.

March:

Michael stops the recording and leaves for Europe with Grace, Prince & Paris. They go to and spend time with the Chaplin family in Switzerland.

March 31:

Michael takes Prince & Paris to a zoo in Hamburg. While in town they stays at the Schleiter family house where live Anton & Frantcheska.

April 3:

Michael hosts a party for Paris 2nd birthday.

May 1:

The CD album 'Classic' of The Jackson 5 is released in Japan by Motown/Universal.

May 7:

Michael takes Prince & Paris to the famous Knie Circus in Zurich.

May 8:

Michael arrives in Monaco with Prince, Paris, Grace, Bob Jones, Karen Faye, Michael Bush & german business man Dieter Wiesner.

May 10:

Prince Albert of Monaco presents Michael with the Artist Of The Millennium Award at the very end of the World Music Awards ceremony.

May 12:

Michael goes to London with Prince, Paris & Grace & they visit his good friend Mark Lester.

May 26:

Michael escorts Dame Elizabeth Taylor to a tribute concert honouring her at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

May 30:

Michael becomes a key investor and partner of HollywoodTicket.com Inc.

June:

Michael & the kids go to switzerland before going back to Neverland.

Marcel Avram sue Michael for breach of contract of the Millennium Concerts and asks for $21 million.

July 24:

Music channel VH1 and ‘Entertainment Weekly’ Magazine team up to create a list of ‘Rock and Roll’s Top 100 TV Moments.”

Michael appears on the list five times including his first ‘Moonwalk’ on stage during ‘Motown 25' and the first screening of the ‘Thriller’ video on MTV.

July 29:

Michael takes the kids to the Siegfried & Roy magical show at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

The 'CD album 'Ripples And Waves' (An Introduction To The Jackson 5) is released in the UK by Motown.

August 27:

Michael invites Rabby Schmuley Boteach & his family to spend one week at Neverland so they can work on their projects for the children (a book and a new foundation).

The same day, he invites 10 year old cancer victim Gavin Arvizo & his family (his parents Janet & David, his brother Star & his sister Davellin). Gavin & Star ask him to sleep over in his room, Michael offer them his bed and sleep on the floor with Frank Cascio.

August 29:

The Arvizo and Boteach kids arrange a small party for Michael 42nd birthday at Neverland.

Early September:

Michael resumes recording sessions on his new album and asks Teddy Riley to work with him.

September 30:

Michael sells his merchandising rights to Dieter Wiesner who creates MJ NET Entertainment.

October 7:

Alejandra gives birth to Jermaine's new son Jermajesty Jackson.

October 12:

'Soul Source Jackson 5 Remixes' CD album is released in Japan by Motown/Universal.

October 23:

'Diana Ross Presents The Jackson 5 / ABC' (digipack) CD album is released by Motown.

'Third Album / Maybe Tomorrow' (digipack) CD album of The Jackson 5 is released by Motown.

'Music & Me' CD album of Michael Jackson is re-released by Motown/Spectrum.

October 24:

'Anthology' double CD album of The Jackson 5 is released in the USA and the UK by Motown.

October 25:

'Children Of The Light' CD album of The Jackson Five' is released in the UK by Motown/Spectrum.

October 28:

Michael & Elizabeth Taylor attend the Carousel Of Hope charity gala at the Hilton Hotel of Beverly Hills.

November:

Michael, Frank, Grace & the kids go back to NYC and check in the Four Seasons Hotel.

November 19:

'Billie Jean', 'Rock With You', 'I Want You Back' and 'Beat It' make Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 greatest songs of all time.

November 20:

Michael attends Schmuley Boteach birthday party at his home in the New Jersey.

November 21:

Michael presents 6 songs from his new album to Sony Music executives in New York.

In the evening he attends the launching of his new foundation Heal The Kids with Shmuley Boteach & Frank Tyson at his publicist Howard Rubenstein’s house.

The CD album 'The Best Of Michael Jackson - The Millennium Collection' is released in the USA by Motown/Universal.

November 25:

Michael & the kids spend Thanksgiving dinner at Shmuley Boteach home in New Jersey.

November 30:

Michael is in New York to received the 'Angel Of Hope Award' at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York City for his work helping the fight against cancer from the G&P Foundation founded by songwriter and philanthropist Denice Rich.

December 2:

Michael attends Tommy Mottola’s wedding at the Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.

December 19:

Michael makes an appearance on the stage of the Madison Square Garden in New York at the end of the charity concert Miracle On the 34th Street and hugs Whitney Houston & Destiny’s Child.

December 20:

The double CD album 'Anthology' of The Jackson 5 is released in Japan by Motown.

December 24/25:

Michael, Grace & the kids leave celebrate Christmas at the Cascio family home in Franlin Lake in New Jersey.
