Jackson Family Auction Update. 30-04-'07

Universal Express Inc. who are auctioning their holdings of the Jackson Family’s Memorabilia in Las Vegas at the end of May, have named five charities which will share a 10% cut of the proceeds of the auction.

The charities, chosen because of their ‘important services’ for children in need, are: St. Jude’s Research Hospital, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Ronald McDonald House and Save the Children.

Universal hopes that the celebrities associated with each charity will attend the auction, so they are perhaps not quite so magnanimous as they seem, as those very celebrities will attract bidders to the auction.

MJSNMichael Jackson Fans Get Their Own Social Networking Site. 21-04-'07

A brand new social networking site launched yesterday (April 20) exclusively for fans of the King of Pop Michael Jackson. The sites creators are billing it as "the first social network of an entertainer", The "Michael Jackson Social Network" (MJSN) will provide a place for fans to communicate and a place where Michael Jackson the artist can be promoted.

The site uses similar features to other social networking sites such as myspace and it utilises Web2.0 technology, it is the first artists site I have seen to take advantage of Web 2.0 and use the technology in such a way. What makes MJSN unique is that it is geared towards a unique community of people - the Michael Jackson fan community.

MJSN.ORG .When fans sign up to mjsn.org they can postin their own blogs, upload photos and communicate with other fans using the technology the site provides.

It is a great concept for an artist to have his own Social Network, where fans can communicate with each other and maybe even communicate with the artist.

Press Release:
The first Social Network of an entertainer goes live on April 20th 2007. The network, developed after a new service concept of an agency for fan co-ordination "Fan Supervision", offers an extraordinary platform for the fans of pop star Michael Jackson.

The status of the artist is out wardly presented and increased by the virtual community. At the same time this form of centralization offers a basis for PR and management of the King of Pop.

The "Michael Jackson Social Network" (MJSN) is particularly tailored to the interests of the artist and thus to the basis of the Jackson fans, who can communicate here, get to know each other and be encouraged in their activities for their idol.

After platforms like "MySpace" already proved their attraction and their power, which is particularly useful in the music business, now the Web 2.0revolution continues with Special Interest Group -Networks.

MJSN pursues the goal of a world-wide fan basis with maximum flexibility and optimal utilization of the new media.

In its entirety, MJSN is already at the disposal of Michael's friends and business partners. Thus today,on April 20th 2007, a new marketing tool for a living music legend goes online.

Tito Jackson'Thriller Live' With Tito Jackson! 21-04-'07

Tito Jackson, star of The Jackson 5, and most recently judge on BBC1’s hit celebrity talent show, 'Just The Two Of Us', has just been confirmed as compere for this years highly anticipated 'Thriller Live' tour, which starts May 6th (N.B: for Liverpool, Glasgow, Leicester and Dartford dates, Tito will not be compere).

'Thriller Live' is a stage & video spectacular celebrating the amazing career of one of the World's Greatest Entertainers - Michael Jackson.

This amazing show, featuring over 30 performers including a full company of singers, dancers, gospel choir and live band will celebrate the King of Pop like never before!

With dazzling choreography (from five time MTV award winner, LaVelle Smith Jr – credits include Michael Jackson’s ‘Scream’, ‘Ghosts’, ‘HIStory’ World Tour, Janet Jackson’s ‘Rhythm Nation’ Tour, Beyonce’s American and UK tours, Rolling Stones ‘Steel Wheels’ Tour to name but a few) and brilliant vocal performances, Jackson's amazing songs and videos are brought to life on stage in a spectacular and sensational way.

The show featuring over two-hours of hit songs including 'I Want You Back', 'I'll Be There', 'Blame It On The Boogie', 'Can You Feel It', 'Rock With You', 'She's Out Of My Life', 'Billie Jean', 'Earth Song', and many more, will begin a 4-week UK tour on the 6th May 2007.

The production, conceived by Adrian Grant, who himself has a long association with Michael Jackson, having published the best selling Jackson books, 'Michael Jackson – The Visual Documentary', and 'Making History' (both Omnibus Press) has been over 15 years in the making, from a tribute show in 1991 to a West End Show in 2006. Indeed, the cast of 'Thriller Live' took to the stage at last year’s World Music Awards at Earls Court, where the cast performed to 'Thriller' itself.

Now with co-producers, Flying Music at the helm (West End hits include 'Dancing In The Streets' and 'The Rat Pack Live In Vegas'), 'Thriller Live', promises to become an established stage show in its own right across the UK and Europe.

The tour itself also coincides with the 25th anniversary year of the 'Thriller' album being released; the 25-date tour will celebrate the music and showmanship of Michael and his brothers like never before!

Daid GestDavid Gest Been Michael's Friend Since They Were Teenagers. 18-04-'07

David Gest has been friends with Michael and his brothers for many years, since they were young men.

In a recent interview he spoke of the accident which happened to Michael during the shooting of a Pepsi commercial in 1984. “Michael was in so much pain after that,” he said. “The trauma, and the pills (painkillers), changed him. Before then, he had a tight hold of his career. The accident didn’t make Michael moody or more distant towards me, but he did become a different person.”

Regarding Michael’s future Gest added; “Now that those child abuse allegations are behind him, Michael is also less trusting and feels wounded. But his career vision is back and he’s planning a spectacular comeback.”

"I have been waiting by the phone to find out if I got the part and when my agent told me I just burst out crying - I am so happy and can't wait to start."

He begins rehearsals next week in London and will have to master the Moonwalk for the role.

His mom, Karen, said "This is what he loves and it's just a fantastic opportunity for him."

Sister2Sister Publisher Jamie Foster Brown Says Michael Is A Good Father. 16-04-'07

Jamie Foster BrownA journalist who accompanied Michael Jackson and his children to Japan last month, has spoken out, saying he’s a good dad.

Jamie Foster Brown, publisher of Sister 2 Sister magazine, which refers to itself as ‘devoted to the world of black entertainment’ travelled with the Jackson entourage to chronicle the trip for the current issue; Brown ascertains that the children were well behaved and treated normally, only wearing their veils when outside (like every normal child does).

During the trip Jamie had contact with all three children,Prince Michael, 10, Paris, 9, and Prince Michael II (aka Blanket), 5.

"They were walking around me, and we were taking pictures without (their veils) - they were very loose. But when they did go outside, they put the scarves around the children's faces."

Jamie said they were also impressed with how the children had been brought up: “He just seemed to be a good parent.More so than most of us!" continuing "I just noticed also how nice the kids were. They're not privileged at all. They have a lot of fun with (Michael). They're intelligent, extremely well-spoken, and they like to play jokes."

Harris-Scott Vs. Jackson Case Dismissed. 16-04-07

The bizarre case against Michael, brought by Helen M. Harris-Scott, accusing him of exceptionally weird actions against her, has been dismissed by a Los Angeles Judge.

She alleged that he answered her declarations of love and admiration through his music because he was shy. He was ‘connected with criminals’ and damaged her car and braking system. He tracked her movements with a GPS tracking system he had installed in her car, and wire tapped her telephone.

She demanded that he should apologise to her, and also give her $100 million. The case was filed on April 28th, 2006 and was dismissed on April 16th, 2007.

The Jacksons AuctionJackson Memorabilia Auction Planned. 07-04-'07

Michael Jackson fans will have an opportunity to get a little piece of their hero's personal possessions in Las Vegas next month.

Guernsey's auction house has announced plans to put "thousands" of Jackson family memorabilia under the hammer in a two-day auction beginning on May 30th.

Among the items up for grabs are Jackson's black and white fedora, a gold record for his massive 'Thriller' album and handwritten lyrics for some of his songs.

Memorabilia relating to Jackson's sister, Janet, and the Jackson Five will also be sold.

"Buyers will be of every description, from the most dedicated fans to the corporate buyer who sees this as interesting material to display," Guernsey's president Arlan Ettinger said.

Reports claim that Michael, less than pleased by the sale, is contesting the auction. Any legal action may run into complications because the collection was bought when its owner became bankrupt.

Items from the collection were used in Jackson's 2005 trial, in which the star was acquitted of child molestation charges.

AkonJackson Calls On Akon's Help For Chart Comeback. 06-04-'07

Michael Jackson is looking towards the top of the US charts as he plans a major comeback - he's asked R&B star Akon to help him return to the top.

Jackson has been working extensively with The Black Eyed Peas star will .i.am on his comeback album and now he's planning a meeting with Senegalese star Akon, who currently holds America's number one spot with 'Don't Matter' and features on Gwen Stefani's number two hit 'The Sweet Escape'.

The pair were supposed to meet up in Las Vegas last week (March 30) but previous commitments Akon had made to his charity foundation for African kids forced the R&B star to call off his date with the King Of Pop.Akon is now hoping to meet with Jackson before the end of April - and he already has big plans for the superstar's comeback.

He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I'm excited because I think it's gonna be magic when we get together."All the stuff that he's going through, that he's been through the past two years, the stuff that's been out in the media... the stuff that hasn't been out, I think he needs to just take all that (and) put it in his records. It's a big story."Nobody's ever really heard Mike's story... If he takes that and accepts what's been out there and expresses his opinion, express his feelings, express what he felt on a record I think it'd take his whole album to a whole 'nother level because the album now becomes a soundtrack of his life from that point to this point and that's something people are gonna want to know about."

Michael JacksonJackson Rep: No Tour, No Vegas Show, No Robot. 04-04-'07

Michael Jackson has no tour or Las Vegas show in the works, no release date for his unfinished album and no knowledge of a 50-foot laser-firing robot.

In the most definitive statement on Jackson’s future since his return to the U.S. in December, Bain told Vegas Confidential, his spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain said, “His No. 1 priority is completing his music and until that time he’s not going to be entertaining any thoughts of a tour or a show.” Jackson is, however, getting in shape to begin dance rehearsals for the video that will accompany his music, she said in a telephone interview.

She characterized as “a hoax” a party invitation that … …surfaced last week that claimed Jackson was kicking off his tour with a performance and meet-and-greet at the Luxor in June. “That is just not happening.” “A Vegas show was always a rumor,” she said. “He’s never said it was a priority. He moved to Las Vegas to be closer to producers and songwriters and studio technicians.

Jackson began recording last fall and has continued to work with will .i. Am of the Black Eyed Peas, she said. She said the report about a five-story robot in Jackson’s likeness is another fabrication. “He knows absolutely nothing about that and has never met with anyone to discuss it.” As far as Jackson’s recent meetings with uber-producer Simon Fuller and choreographer Kenny Ortega, she said she knows of “no business relationship at this time.”

'Jacko: His Rise And Fall: The Social And Sexual History Of Michael Jackson' Book Is Released. 01-04-'07

Jacko: His Rise And Fall: The Social And Sexual History Of Michael Jackson Book Cover'The book 'Jacko: His Rise And Fall: The Social And Sexual History Of Michael Jackson' is released in the USA by publisher Blood Moon Productions and written through Darwin Porter.

The book which looks at Jackson 'from the inside out', claims to be the most comprehensive of the lot. The book is released in the USA by publisher Blood Moon Productions and written through Darwin Porter.

Michael Jackson is one of the most controversial figures in the music world. Darwin Porter presents this comprehensive and all-inclusive biography about the King of Pop.

Porter 'takes the face off' the Michael Jackson we think we know. Michael (Darwin and he are on first-name terms) is a normal kid, living in abnormal times, Porter says. He may be the subject of corporal punishment by his father and allegations of knife threats from his brother Jermaine, and of accusations of homosexuality, bisexuality and even asexuality by the media. But in Porter's account, he 'always got up to go to the Sunday meeting of the Jehovah's Witnesses', experienced 'history's worst case of acne' and refused Andy Warhol's request to film his face while being penetrated anally with the words: 'No thanks. It's long past my bedtime.' This is the story of the good boy turned rotten, or 'Peter Pan grows up'.

'Jacko: His Rise And Fall: The Social And Sexual History Of Michael Jackson' book is with approximately 100 photographs and a detailed index listing references to the names of hundreds of celebrities and wannabes who interacted with or reacted to Michael in ways which, at the very least, were highly eccentric.
