Michael JacksonLien Issues On Jackson Properties. 28-08-'07

Michael Jackson's ownership California ranch is looking shaky after a U.S. judge placed a lien on his Neverland home.

The lien (a legal agreement over property to secure a debt payment) was issued by a California judge two weeks ago (August 13-17) after Jackson's former business partner F. Marc Schaffel won a $559,305 judgment against the star, according to Fox News reporter Roger Friedman.

Producer Schaffel filed suit against Michael in 2004, claiming Jackson owed him several million dollars in unpaid loans, unpaid salary for a charity single, and a share of proceeds from two TV programme's designed to boost the singer's image following his child molestation arrest.

Following Schaffel's court triumph earlier this month, his lawyer Howard King asked a judge to issue a lien on Jackson's Neverland home and his parents' home in Encino, California until the star pays Schaffel.

'The Jacksons Story: Number 1's' CD Album (Digipack) Is Released. 28-08-'07

The Jacksons Story Number 1's (Digipack) CD Album CoverFor the first time on a single-disc compilation, Hip O's 'The Jacksons Story: Number 1's' combines both the group's Motown and Epic singles along with solo hits by Michael and Jermaine. The CD album is released on August 28 in the USA by Hip-O Records, housed in a digipack with a black and white picture of The J5.

Spanning 1969-1983, the program begins with early-70's J5 chart-toppers like 'I Want You Back,' 'll Be There,' and 'ABC,' then delves into Michael's initial solo records of the same era: 'Ben,' 'Rockin' Robin,' and 'Got To Be There.' By 1976, the Jacksons had severed their long relationship with Motown and switched to Epic, reflected here by seven noteworthy tunes, including 'Enjoy Yourself' and 'Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground).'

When the group changed record companies, Jermaine, who was married to the daughter of Motown honcho Berry Gordy, remained and was rewarded with his first solo hit in 1980's 'Let's Get Serious.' The disc wraps up with two songs that represent the beginning of Michael's solo career in earnest with 1979's 'Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough' and the massive hit 'Billie Jean,' released four years later. Though it's not as comprehensive as 1995's 21-track 'Ultimate Collection', 'The Jacksons Story' holds together well and still offers a decent selection of the band's career highlights.

This is the same set and sequence as Hip-O's 2004 compilation of the Jacksons called 'The Jacksons Story'.

Michael JacksonJackson Hospital Lawsuit Halted. 23-08-'07

A lawsuit filed by the family of a woman who died at a hospital after she was moved to make room for music legend Michael Jackson has been thrown out of court.

The family of Manuela Gomez Ruiz planned to sue Jackson and the Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, California claiming she was kept from critical care on the same day Jackson was brought in with flu-like symptoms during his 2005 child molestation trial.

The lawsuit said the 73-year-old Ruiz was on life-support after a massive heart attack and was moved from a two-bed room so Jackson could occupy it by himself.

Judge Rodney Melville - who also sat on Jackson's molestation case - ruled he would allow challenges to the complaint filed by attorneys for Jackson and the hospital, who argue the facts of the case didn't justify the allegations. Melville gave the plaintiffs' attorney 30 days to redraft their complaint.

The Jackson 5Unreleased Jackson 5 Songs Found. 17-08-'07

A whole bunch of unreleased material from The Jackson 5 is about to hit the streets after collecting in a New Jersey warehouse for years, reports WENN.

The collection was found after Richard Altomare, the head of luggage movement company Universal Express, bought unclaimed Jackson family memorabilia from the warehouse. Many of the items were auctioned off during a big two-day sale in Las Vegas. The Jackson 5 tapes from the1970's contain roughly 60 unreleased songs.

Altomare says he is currently in talks with Michael Jackson and his sister Janet, who wasn’t in the band, to get the unreleased material in stores.

"I've personally talked to Michael and Janet on the phone about the tapes, and even played on a couple of songs for them,” says Altomare. "At first there was silence on the other end of the line, but that was quickly followed by giggles as if it brought them back to the day those songs were recorded."

Nona Paris Lola JacksonNona Paris Lola Jackson Loses Out In Jackson Custody. 16-08-'07

A London woman who claims she is the biological mother of Michael Jackson's three children has lost her legal attempt to share custody of the kids after failing to provide any evidence to support her claims.

Nona Paris Lola Jackson, 36, alleges she is the biological mother of Michael's kids, Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II (aka Blanket).

Jackson's ex-wife Deborah Rowe is generally acknowledged to be the mother of Jackson's two older children, but it is unknown who gave birth to Blanket.

Nona filed court papers in October (06) asking for a say in the custody arrangement between Jackson and Rowe. Nona maintains she has had a sexual relationship with Jackson and claims she has written 3,000 songs for him.

On Wednesday (August 15), Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert A. Schnider denied Nona's request for physical custody of the children and her second request to nullify the singer's previous marriages to Rowe and Lisa Marie Presley.

Schnider said, "I feel her evidence fails to establish any genetic relationship between herself and the Jackson-Rowe children."Nona has attempted to have a say on the custody battle on several occasions in 2006 and 2007, but all have been rejected by a judge over lack of evidence and her failure to notify Jackson and Rowe of her claims.

Raymone K. BainRaymone Responds To Roger Friedman. 15-08-'07

Bain's Letter to Friedman says he lied about MiJac and Marion Berry; Demands retraction.

Roger:

In your column dated August 14, 2007, you indicate that Michael Jackson is "homeless, carting around w/ three school-aged kids ... but, Michael Jackson has a new friend: former imprisoned crack addict and Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry." And, you state further that I introduced the two of them.

All of this, Roger, is a complete lie. I do not know who your sources are, or why you continue to believe them. I do not know why you continue to write untruths which can be verified as untruths. I do not know why you do not check to determine the accuracy of your sources. And, I do not know why you have such venom for Michael Jackson. But, let me state for the record:

1) FACT: Michael Jackson has neither met, nor does he know Former Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion S. Barry, Jr., neither has he been in his presence while on the East Coast, and vice-versa. PERIOD.

2) FACT: While Former Mayor Barry and I are friends, and, while we have oftentimes indicated our desire to have lunch, because of schedule conflicts, I have not seen him in at least two years.

3) FACT: "Michael Jackson is not homeless, carting around with three school-aged kids....." While where Mr. Jackson is currently residing is his own private business, Mr. Jackson will never be "homeless" as long as he owns the 3,000 acre estate called Neverland Valley Ranch, which to my knowledge, and at this date, he has not sold. Mr. Jackson has a tutor for his children who is certified and qualified. As we are in the summer months, and most children in the United States are on vacation until classes begin later in the month, the same applies to Mr. Jackson's children.

I will let Mr. Jackson's attorneys deal with other issues you have raised should they see fit; and, I will let Marion Barry deal with your portrayal of him, should he see fit. But I find it unbelievable that you dedicated almost your entire column on background of Marion Barry when neither he or Michael Jackson have met.

I am respectfully requesting an immediate retraction regarding the issues I have previously outlined.

Thank you very much for your attention and cooperation.

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson Sued By Former Lawyers. 15-08-'07

Michael Jackson's former entertainment lawyers filed a lawsuit Tuesday (August 14) claiming the singer owes them more than $113,000.

The law firm Lavely & Singer of Los Angeles says Jackson agreed in arbitration last year to pay them $180,000 in three installments.

Jackson failed to make the final payment of $113,750 before the July 31, 2007, deadline stipulated in the settlement, the firm alleges in a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

A message left for Jackson's publicist, Raymone K. Bain, was not immediately returned Tuesday. His lawyer, Christopher Mellott, could not be reached after hours Tuesday (August 14).

A judge last month ordered the pop singer to pay more than $256,000 in legal fees to another firm that handled some side issues during his 2005 child molestation trial.

Chris TuckerChris Tucker Believes In Michael. 07-08-'07

Chris Tucker still believes in Michael Jackson. You can tell, because in the very first scene of 'Rush Hour 3', the actor-comedian squeals melodically, grabs his crotch and throws his arms up to the heavens.

All that's missing is a giant offstage fan to make Tucker's shirt billow out behind him, as Jackson's did when he was feeling 'Dangerous'. A tip of the hat to the erstwhile King of Pop is a staple of Tucker's comedy and of the 'Rush Hour' films themselves, dating back to the original1998 entry in the popular buddy-cop series, inwhich Tucker's LAPD detective, James Carter, instructed Inspector Lee — the Hong Kong copplayed by Jackie Chan — on the hierarchy oftheir new partnership: "I'm Michael Jackson. You're Tito."

Beatles Song Licensed For Ads. 04-08-'07

The publishing company Sony/ATV has licensed the use of the Beatles song 'All You Need Is Love' for a series of new advertisements of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics firm Proctor & Gamble. Michael Jackson still has a stake in the music publishing company Sony/ATV, which owns the rights to the Beatles catalogue. The song will appear in adverts for the Luvs branded nappy's.

The company's decision is a "surprise" to John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono, because they had always given her advance notice of their intentions in the past.
