Was Michael Jackson Framed? (Paperback) 29-09-'12
The Untold Story That Brought Down a Superstar.

Release date: 04-10-2012

The original GQ story that became an international sensation by exploring, for the first time in the media, the other side—the defense side-- of the 1993 Michael Jackson scandal. Today, it remains a sought-after story by the superstar’s fans around the world.

Until now, the original, unedited version of the GQ article has not been available. Now, three years after Michael Jackson’s death, in the midst of a resurgence of his music and popularity, the official GQ story is being released, with a new cover and foreword written by the author, award-winning journalist Mary A. Fischer.

As the media rushed to judgment about the ’93 allegations—that Jackson had molested a 13-year-old boy—no one bothered to look in depth at Jackson’s adult accusers. GQ senior writer Mary A. Fischer, known for investigating controversial, under-reported stories, took on the assignment.

She spent months delving into the backgrounds of Evan Chandler and his attorney Barry K. Rothman, Jackson’s main accusers. What emerged from Fischer’s examination, based on court documents, business records and scores of interviews, some with confidential sources who would only meet in out of the way places, was a persuasive argument that Jackson molested no one and that he himself may have been the victim of a well-conceived plan to extract money from him.

More than that, it was a classic story of greed, ambition, misconceptions on the part of police and prosecutors, a lazy and sensation-seeking media and the use of a powerful, hypnotic drug.

Today, it remains an important, relevant story about how a case was simply invented. And now, for the first time in over a decade, it is available to Michael Jackson fans everywhere.

Michael Jackson Is VH1's Greatest Male Artist! 29-09-'12

Polls are closed, the numbers are in and we are very proud to announce that you have voted Michael Jackson to be the VH1's Greatest Male Artist! Before he could claim his crown, Jackson had to beat out many other worthy fellows. He faced-off with his talented protégé Usher and the glamorous Adam Lambert in early rounds; and he went head-to-head Lil Wayne, the Best Rapper Alive, in the final and toughest round. And still he took the title easily, winning in the end by a landslide. They don’t call him the King of Pop for nothing, you know.

Michael being no longer with us, Canedy Knowles accepted the honor in his place. In lieu of a speech, she donned fedora and a leather glove, and did her best MJ routine. And though they may not be so smooth as his, her moves are enough to recall some of the things we love most about Mike: the effortless “Beat It” hat flip, the willing to fight for what’s right elbow throws from “They Don’t Care About Us” and of course that one finger to the sky.

Everyone Who Worked On 'Bad' Says It Was Best Time Ever... 25-09-'12

Says Bad docu director Spike Lee as record is to be re-released.

The King of Pop had been under lots of pressure to deliver a strong follow-up to Thriller and he didn’t disappoint.

Bad set a record for scoring five consecutive US No1 singles — I Just Can’t Stop Loving You, Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Man In The Mirror and Dirty Diana — and went on to sell more than 40million copies.

To coincide with the release of the Bad 25 album, which contains a disc of rarities and remixes, film maker SPIKE LEE has directed a documentary about the making of the record.

It’s well worth a watch, if only because you’ll find out who Annie is — of “Annie are you OK?” fame in Smooth Criminal.

SL: Not Bad at all ... new Michael Jackson release.

Biz caught up with Spike when he was in London earlier this month...

Hi, Spike, why did you want to make the film?

SL: I’m a film maker, I love what I do and I grew up admiring and loving Michael Jackson.

I saw him in 1969 on TV. He had a big afro and I wanted to be him.

Was it daunting, knowing that Jacko has such an ardent fan base?

SL: No, it’s good pressure. You can’t let people down. If this had been sub-par I’d have been torn limb from limb.

Who were your favourite interviewees for the film?

SL: I loved them all. The funniest to me was KANYE WEST, he’s hilarious. MARIAH CAREY was very busy but she wanted to do it. I wanted to make it contemporary and talk about how Michael influenced them growing up.

STEVIE WONDER sang at my wedding so I know him well.

You take issue with the Michael/ Stevie song Just Good Friends in the film, which is arguably the one dud on the album...

Neither of them wrote it and even Bad’s producer QUINCY JONES says they had the wrong song.

What were the overriding memories of the people who worked on the Bad album?

SL: They said it was the best time of their lives and they knew they were working with someone great. Michael was coming off the back of Thriller so he was happy.

What are your feelings about his problems?

SL: You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work out why he had those problems.

Who we are as human beings is greatly impacted by our childhoods.

Some reviews have said you haven’t explored the darker side of Michael...

That wasn’t the intention of this film, it’s about the music and the making of the Bad album.

Some reviews have said: “Why did he show people crying when talking about his death?” but those were real, raw human emotions.

SL: Michael’s life has deeply affected people and they miss him.

His death messed me up for a month or two. He touched so many people.

Bad 25 is out, the documentary will be shown on TV before Christmas.

Siedah Garrett Answers Classic MicJac Duet With New Solo Tribute Song. 24-09-'12

Ask Siedah Garrett about the power of a duet and it’s a sure bet she will proudly testify gaining personal and professional satisfaction from a great pairing.

Especially if you’re duet partner is Michael Jackson. Since singing alongside the King of Pop on “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” Garrett has carved her own niche with winning a Grammy for the chart-topping single and two Oscar nominations associated with her work on the movie adaptation of the stage musical “Dreamgirls” and the animated film “Rio.” Still no matter the accomplishments, Garrett is humble when she cites the two people responsible for her success.

“I just owe everything that I am to him [Jackson] and because of Quincy [Jones] I got to be introduced to him through my music. So I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Mr. Jones for my life as it is at this moment because he was my introduction to Mr. Jackson,” the former Brand New Heavies member confided to EUR’s Lee Bailey. “I don’t even know how I would be in the same sphere as Michael Jackson if it weren’t for my association with Quincy and his relative association with Michael and the project that he’s done for him.”

“I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” was the lead single for Jackson’s follow-up to “Thriller,” “Bad. The album, which spawned four other No.1 hits, was re-released Tuesday (Sept. 18) in honor of its 25th anniversary.

After Jackson passed away in 2009, Garrett said she felt the need to “write something that expressed how I felt about having met him, about having worked with him and about how his creative influence has changed my life entirely.”

The result is the singer’s new song, “Keep on Lovin’ You.” The recently released track showcases Jackson as seen by Garrett, who stated how the track captured the bond she shared with the legendary vocalist. The video for “Keep on Lovin’ You” features performance footage of Jackson and Garrett from Jackson’s “Dangerous” tour.

“It’s my answer to our duet. My love letter back to Michael…how I was feeling and how it felt to be with him at that time, how we respected him so much and let me feel like he had as much to learn from me as I did from him,” Garrett said of her friend and mentor. “I think the first line of the song is ‘I know I was nervous and if you were feeling nervous too I didn’t have a clue. I found it so refreshing you turned out to be so cool. You were just cool.’ When I wrote those lines, they really expressed my deepest, most heartfelt feelings about him as a man, as an artist, as my duet partner.”

Garrett’s video for “Keep on Lovin’ You received a worthwhile co-sign from the Jackson family and estate, who gave permission to use the “Dangerous” tour footage for the clip.

“They gave me permission after having seen what we did, how we used it and I am so, so pleased. That was a huge coup for me,” Garrett said. “It’s all well and good to have a video that you feel is a tribute to Michael, but if he’s not in it, it could be anybody. But because they allowed me to use us on tour, on the “Dangerous” tour, it just brought so much legitimacy to this next single…I could not be more happy with the way it turned out with the fact that the family gave their blessing and everybody is just totally alright with the way this came out.”

With “Bad”‘s reintroduction to music fans, Garrett feels the timing couldn’t be better.

“…It was such a great project,” said the entertainer, who believes the second time around is the charm for one of “Bad” standouts, the inspirational “Man in the Mirror.” “That was one of my biggest regrets for the song itself, that it didn’t really get the recognition it deserved,” stated the “Man in the Mirror” co-writer, who added that the song was not nominated for a Grammy in light of it being released a year after “Bad” arrived in stores.

In the coming months, fans can look for more from Garrett, who will release her upcoming album, “Look Inside Myself.” The album, which will feature “Keep On Lovin’ You,” is slated for release later this year.

Publishers Not Interested In Michael Jackson Doctor ‘Tell-All’ Book. 24-09-'12

Dr. Conrad Murray is writing a “tell-all” book about Michael Jackson but publishers have so far told him they are not interested in the tome.

The disgraced physician – who was sentenced to four years imprisonment for the involuntary manslaughter of the King of Pop – is reportedly penning a memoir about his work for the singer, with friends claiming the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker confided his “inner-most secrets” to him.

A source close to Murray said: “Dr. Murray spends most of his days writing what he is telling friends will be a tell-all book about what really happened in the final days of Michael Jackson’s life.

“Murray believes that the public will want to hear about the time he spent with Michael. Conrad says that Michael confided his inner-most secrets about his true feelings about his family, the child molestation trial and his three children. Murray contends that Michael’s kids viewed him as a family member and loved him.”

The doctor – who has always disputed giving Michael the lethal dose of anaesthetic Propofol which caused his death in June 2009 – is said to hope the book will help his public image and raise some much-needed cash.

The insider continued to RadarOnline.com: “This is all about money for Murray though because he is absolutely flat broke and desperately needs the cash. He feels that the book could help rehab his image and help him to get his medical license back.”

However, Murray – who is expected to serve just two years of his sentence because of jail overcrowding – may face problems getting the tome published as the proposed manuscript has not faced a warm response so far.

The source said: “Several publishers have been contacted and have expressed little to no interest in publishing any book written by or about Dr. Murray.

“One publisher said that even if Murray were to take full responsibility for the death of Michael Jackson there was no interest. Dr. Murray just isn’t an empathetic person and the public doesn’t want to hear from him, period.”

Michael Jackson, Defender Of Life? 23-09-'12

Michael Jackson was pro-life?

Yes, according to a new, never-before-released song Jackson penned titled “Song Groove (A/K/A Abortion Papers)“. The song, which is a bonus track on the 25th anniversary re-release of Jackson’s hit album “Bad”, hits store shelves this week, and media are scrambling to tell the story.

Catholic site Phatmass posted the complete lyrics here, and Slate magazine included a pro-abortion, anti-God screed here, calling the tune “a goofy mix of religiosity and anxiety about women’s liberation.” Slate’s unlovable columnist Amanda Marcotte shocks with her callous disregard for the unborn child and her disparaging of all considerations except her own: Jackson, she writes, “judges us…for having consensual sex with age-appropriate partners without feeling obligated to go through with every accidental pregnancy.”

In Abortion Papers, Jackson plays the part of a man whose girlfriend chooses to abort his child—even though he wants the child and believes that abortion is outside the will of God. He sings:

Those abortion papers
Signed in your name against the words of God
Those abortion papers
Think about life, I’d like to have my child.

As noted earlier, this is a song that Michael knew could be controversial and, as a result, he spent a lot of time thinking about the story for the song and the voice through which the song should be told. The song is about a girl whose father is a priest; she was raised in the Church and on the Bible. She gets married in the Church but decides, against the Bible, to have an abortion and she wants “Abortion Papers.” As Michael indicated in his notes, “I have to do it in a way so I don’t offend girls who have gotten abortions or bring back guilt trips so it has to be done carefully… I have to really think about it.“ This is an early example of a song with a controversial subject.

Michael's Dad Dates Girl 51 Years Younger. 23-09-'12

Michael's father Joe has turned his back on his wife and the King of Pop’s children for a female “companion” 51 years his junior.

Wealthy Indonesian beauty Lavinia Iskandar, 33, has been photographed with Joe, 84, at a string of events in Las Vegas since April.

The pair were spotted at former world heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson’s one-man show.

And astonishingly, they were also caught on camera in July at the Jacksons’ Unity Tour gig.

They even spent time with two of Joe’s sons Jackie, 61, and Jermaine, 57, after the show.

A source close to the family said last night: “It’s been an open secret that Joe and Lavinia spend all their time together.

“Joe owns a condo in Vegas and she has been staying there.

“He hasn’t seen his wife Katherine in weeks and simply wasn’t around during the recent dramas about Michael’s estate when she was spirited away to a spa in Arizona, leaving his children home alone.”

Katherine, 82, who has been married to Joe for 63 years, is said to be “seething” over her husband’s interest in Lavinia.

The source added: “This time he’s gone too far.

“Katherine wouldn’t shed a single tear if he never set foot through her door again.”

A spokesman for Joe yesterday insisted Lavinia, who escorted him to the Grammy Awards in LA in February, is a “business associate”, saying: “He is promoting his new range of after-shave and she has extensive contacts in Asia.”

Friends claim, however, the two have become “inseparable” and Joe is “completely smitten” with Lavinia, who comes from a super-rich family in south-east Asia and who is said to be a huge Michael Jackson fan.

They met a year ago, according to one pal of Joe’s, who said: “She’s a wealthy fan who’s living out some sort of fantasy by hanging out with Michael’s dad.

“But their relationship is hurting Katherine badly. She has long been used to his self- confessed cheating ways but this time she thinks the age difference of more than half a century is ridiculous.”

Philandering Joe has confessed to fathering two love children, Tawanda and Joh’Vonnie Jackson, in 1972 and 1974 respectively, with two different women. He has said: “I don’t believe I was made to be a one-woman man.”

Jackson family sources claim he has virtually turned his back on Michael’s children – Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10 – since they moved with their grand-mother to a new estate in the leafy LA suburb of Calabasas late last year.

Like the King of Pop’s brothers and sisters, he was completely excluded from Michael’s will.

A friend of Katherine’s said last night: “Sadly, he’s drifted apart from the family and is pursuing a very separate life these days.”

The Pop Diplomacy Of Quincy Jones. 22-09-'12

In an interview with The New York Times, Quincy Jones, who had worked with Michael on 3 of his albums, talks about this collaboration:

Andrew Goldman: You once wrote that Michael Jackson stopped working with you because he felt threatened by the credit you were getting for his music. Considering he was never able to repeat the success he had with “Off the Wall,” “Thriller” and “Bad,” how much credit do you deserve?

Q: Well, what do you think?

Andrew Goldman: I don’t know. I wasn’t in the studio.

Q: You heard the albums, didn’t you? That’s nothing to do with any one person. That’s the combination of the two of us. You’re looking at one of the most talented kids in the history of show business. Michael was very observant and detail-oriented. You put that together with my background of big-band arranging and composing, we had no limitations.

Andrew Goldman: Did he really never personally tell you he was moving on?

Q: He didn’t, no. It’s O.K., man. It’s not like I’m gonna roll over and die. He told his manager that I was losing it, that I didn’t understand the business because I didn’t understand in 1987 that rap was dead. Rap wasn’t dead. Rap hadn’t even started yet.

Andrew Goldman: During the “We Are the World” session, great singers like Smokey Robinson didn’t even get solo lines. How do you tell Bette Midler, “Kim Carnes gets a solo, but you don’t”?

Q: It was not easy. If you’ve got 46 people and only 21 solos, you’re gonna have a problem. That’s why we did all the background lines before I told them who would sing solos. If they did the solos first, they’d all disappear.

Dr. Conrad Murray Writing 'Tell All' Book While In Jail! 21-09-'12

Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted last year of killing Michael Jackson, is passing time in jail by writing a tell-all book and hopes a publisher will pay him a substantial amount of money, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

"Dr. Murray spends most of his days writing what he is telling friends will be a tell-all book about what really happened in the final days of Michael Jackson's life," a source close to the situation tells Radar. "Murray believes that the public will want to hear about the time he spent with Michael. Conrad says that Michael confided his inner-most secrets about his true feelings about his family, the child molestation trial and his three children. Murray contends that Michael's kids viewed him as a family member and loved him.

"This is all about money for Murray though because he is absolutely flat broke and desperately needs the cash. He feels that the book could help rehab his image and help him to get his medical license back."

Jackson's former physician was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of the King of Pop and was sentenced to four years in jail. However, because of jail overcrowding in California, Murray, who has served less than a year of the sentence to date, is expected to only serve two years behind bars.

"The conviction is being appealed and Murray is confident that it will be successful, even though legal experts say that it's very unlikely that he will get a new trial. Conrad is extremely arrogant and doesn't accept any responsibility for the death of Michael Jackson. He truly believes he has done nothing wrong," the insider says.

Meanwhile, reps for Murray have reached out to publishers to test the waters to see if there is any interest in releasing the book, and so far, the response has been, "no thanks."

"Several publishers have been contacted and have expressed little to no interest in publishing any book written by or about Dr. Murray," the source says. "One publisher said that even if Murray were to take full responsibility for the death of Michael Jackson there was no interest. Dr. Murray just isn't an empathetic person and the public doesn't want to hear from him, period," the source says.

Koons' Statue Of MJ & Bubbles In New York. 21-09-'12

“Regarding Warhol: Sixty Artists, Fifty Years” is currently on view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City (USA). The exhibition is divided into five categories that represent aspects of Andy Warhol’s art: every day objects, portraiture, queer studies, seriality and appropriation, and ending with business collaboration and spectacle. The juxtaposition between Warhol and his contemporaries is done in a way that depicts Warhol as the spark that ignited the flame that is Pop Art, or that he is the “old master” of this specific genre.

One of the pieces of art included in the exhibition is Jeff Koons’ ceramic statue of Michael Jackson and his monkey Bubbles (1988).

The exhibition is on display from September 18 to December 31, 2012.

Ne-Yo: Remembering His Interactions With Michael. 21-09-'12

Ne-Yo has made no secret of the fact that he had been collaborating with Michael Jackson when he died in 2009. But in the newest episode of VH1′s Behind the Music — which premieres Sunday, Sept. 23, at 9 p.m. — he delves deeper into how they met and the work they produced. EW has an exclusive clip of that recollection.

In the clip — which you can find below — Ne-Yo recalls that in the spring of 2009, Jackson reached out to him but he hung up the phone, thinking it was a prank call. “I figured it was somebody playin’,” he remembers.

After Jackson called back, he remembers, “we met up in New York, then he smiles and gave me a big hug, and says, ‘You know what my favorite song of yours is? [singing] Please don’t worry about me, I’m fine,’” Ne-Yo says in the clip. “He started singing my damn song ['Go On, Girl].’ I almost lost it at that point. I maintained, but inside, I was jumping around like a six-year-old girl. It was bad. It was really, really bad.”

Siedah Garrett On Writing Michael Jackson’s ‘Man In The Mirror’. 19-09-'12

Siedah Garrett, who wrote the lyrics for Michael Jackson's No. 1 hit "Man In The Mirror" and is a featured vocalist on the song, still remembers the day she penned the reflective record 25 years ago for the King Of Pop's Bad album that is being reissued as a special edition this week.

Garrett, who went on to record as a solo artist and write smashes for the likes of Tevin Campbell and Jennifer Hudson, said she immediately knew she had something great. "I called Quincy [Jones] and said, 'Dude, Glen [Ballard] and I have written a great song.' He said, 'Great, great. So turn it into the publishing office, and I'll hear it on Monday.' I said, 'Nope. No. Quincy. Let me just drop off the cassette [now]'," Garrett said during an interview with Yahoo! Music.

Siedah Garrett, Michael Jackson Within a week, Jackson, who preferred to write his own material, was in the studio recording the track that he would later use to close out his concert tours. When he died in 2009, his estate played the song at the conclusion of his memorial.

When Jones assigned a group of songwriters the task to write one last song for Bad, Garrett knew she needed to come upwith something powerful. "I couldn't write a 'oh baby baby [song].' It couldn't be a run-of-the-mill idea," she said. "He had such a huge platform. He had the eyes and the ears and attention of the entire planet, so I wanted to offer him something to say to the world, not knowing if he would get it, not knowing if it would get past Quincy."

Jackson told Garrett that "Man In The Mirror" and John Lennon's "Imagine" were his favorite songs. His chemistry with Garrett was so strong that he invited her to duet with him on another Bad single, "I Just Can't Stop Lovin' You." Garrett pays homage to Jackson on her new song, "Keep On Loving You."

Garrett last saw Jackson a month before he died, during auditions for his London tour, This Is It, where she ironically sang, "Man In The Mirror."

Garrett said she misses the way he valued his colleagues. "Here's the essence of his genius," she said. "Whenever he found someone whose artistry he respected, he studied that person and would take the good of what they do and internalise and tweak, twist and flip it, and make it his own. So whenever you were in his presence, and he respected you as a talent, he made you feel as if he had as much to learn from you as you did from him. Oh my God. That was the biggest lessen that I learned from him."

‘Bad 25': Kylie Minogue, Miguel & More Remember The King Of Pop. 18-09-'12

Today brings the 25th anniversary re-release of Michael Jackson‘s seventh studio album, Bad. Over the past month we’ve celebrated the momentous occasion by revisiting MJ’s 1988 Bad tour performance of “Human Nature”, presenting a rare demo of “Smooth Criminal” (“Al Capone”), listing our favorite pop star covers of Bad tracks and even giving away a copy of the re-release. But we’re not the only ones excited the late King Of Pop’s music milestone.

We chatted up some of our favorite pop stars about what Bad, the fifth-highest selling album of all time, has meant to them. Kylie Minogue, Miguel, Alex Clare, Wonder Girls and more told us their personal stories of the first time they heard Jackson’s final album of the ’80s and the lasting impression its made, not just on their own music, but on the pop landscape. Whether it was on vinyl, cassette or their iPod — or they were taking in the album’s music videos on VHS tape or while glued to the TV set waiting for MTV to play the them just once more — each artist had their own vivid memory to share.

Q&A: Spike Lee On Bad25. 18-09-'12

Spike Lee wears a Michael Jackson T-shirt that matches the Michael Jackson Air Jordan's the 55-year-old director wears tucked out of his jeans. Lee, director of Do the Right Thing, Inside Man, Malcolm X and five documentaries, recently premiered Bad25, his film about the making of the Michael Jackson record that debuted in 1987. Bad, which will be re-released on Sept. 18, was Jackson’s follow-up to Thriller, still the best-selling album of all-time. Ben Kaplan sat down with Lee on the last day of TIFF and asked him what he misses most about his old friend.

Q Given your documentary history — the church bombing in Birmingham and the hurricane in New Orleans — why make a Michael Jackson film?
A I’ve been a fan since I saw him as the lead singer of the Jackson Five on The Ed Sullivan Show — 1969, that was. I wanted to be one of the Jackson Five.

Q In 1987, when Bad was released, you were preparing School Daze. Were you as influenced by Jackson’s visuals as much as his music?
A I was just following what Michael did. He put a great emphasis on his short films and they set the standard and really made MTV, it was mutual. And many people told me that Michael, if he had lived longer, would’ve gone into directing films.

Q You directed Michael Jackson in the video for They Don’t Care About Us in 1996. What do you remember?
A It was one of the highlights of my filmmaking career.

Q Were you having flashbacks to yourself as a 12-year-old in front of the television?
A I wasn’t thinking about Ed Sullivan, I was thinking that I’ve got to do a job right, because I can’t let Michael down. I don’t want Michael being displeased.

Q Let’s talk about Bad, the album. At that time, were you a fan?
A Like everybody, I’d waited five years for the follow-up to Thriller. I remember, and I even put this in the film, that I didn’t understand the song Just Good Friends, the duet with Stevie Wonder. I don’t stand that song.

Q What do you mean?
A I don’t know why two great songwriters, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, would sing someone else’s song that’s not even good. Stevie’s a good friend of mine, too. He knew I was going to ask him about that song.

Q What don’t you like about it?
A Quincy [Jones, the album’s producer] says in the voice over, “I know I made a mistake.” It’s acknowledged.

Q Quincy also says he didn’t like Smooth Criminal. That’s my favourite song on the disc.
A They made 66 songs for Bad; you have to whittle them down.

Q With the record being re-released and you making this film, are you attempting to bring the focus back with Michael Jackson to the music?
A This is a re-examination. The way Michael was treated – Wacko Jacko – it’s criminal the stuff they wrote about him, so I do think a lot of people are going to go back and listen to this album. People were caught up in Thriller and Bad was a follow-up to Thriller and overshadowed, but it stands up on its own legs.

Q You mention the Wacko Jack stuff. Did that taint your impression of the man?
A I didn’t believe that stuff. I hate that stuff. And as we show in the film, that stuff hurt Michael. He’s a human being.

Q You ask everyone in the film where they were on June 25, 2009, when Michael passed. Where were you?
A I was in Cannes for an internet convention and at dinner in Monaco and I got the word. It messed me up for months.

Q Would you call this a personal film?
A All my films are personal. Especially my documentaries.

Q You’ve now spent two lives with Bad, as a music fan and as a documentarian. What’s your favourite song on the disc?
A Man in the Mirror. That’s the anthem and Michael sang the hell out of it.

Bad25, the record, is out Sept. 18 on Sony Records. The documentary by Spike Lee will premiere in November.

Paris Jackson Shares Late Father Michael's Geeky Hobby... 17-09-'12

Paris Jackson revealed her inner-geek after enjoying a day out with her brothers at a Los Angeles comic convention.

The 14-year-old daughter of late pop icon Michael Jackson stepped out in a yellow top and denim hot pants as she attended Stan Lee's Comikaze event on Sundays.

Flanked by a crew that were the filming the family during their day out, Paris seemed happy as she walked through the bustling crowds at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Comic book fans, games and zombie enthusiasts descended on the pop culture event over the weekend for the annual festival, which is now in its second year and has been re-branded Stan Lee's Comikaze after the comic book creator became a business partner following last year's success.

While Paris and her older brother Prince Michael didn't dress up for the occasion, ten-year-old Blanket got into the spirit of things by wearing a red T-shirt featuring several Marvel comics characters that Lee created, including Spider-Man and The Hulk.

The Jackson children inherited their comic book loving side from their father.

Michael was a huge comic book fan and purchased a host of geek goodies, including life-size statues of Spider-Man, Superman and Batman, as well as vintage X-Men and Marvel Vs Capcom arcade machines.

The King of Pop also struck up a friendship with Stan Lee in his failed bid to buy the screen rights of Spider-Man.

Lee recounted their meeting in a 2009 interview with MTV: 'I had been to his place in Neverland ... and he wanted to do Spider-Man. I'm not sure whether he just wanted to produce it or wanted to play the role, you know? Our conversation never got that far along.
'He thought I'd be the one who could get him the rights and I told him I couldn't, he would have to go to the Marvel company. But we did become friendly... and he was a great guy.'

Paris has also inherited her dad's acting desires.
