VP Of Production Disney Infinity Is Trying To Bring 'Captain EO' To The 3.0 version Of The Game.

So if Vignocchi is successful in his endeavors, we will see 'Captain EO' as part of Disney Infinity 3.0 which is due to come out later this year.

For those of you that don’t know what Disney Infinity is; Disney Infinity is an action-adventure sandbox “toys to life” video game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Disney Interactive Studios. It was announced on January 15, 2013 and developed for approximately $100 million.

Similar to Activision’s Skylanders franchise, the game uses collectible figurines that are then synchronized with the game, unlocking characters from Disney and Pixar properties that interact and go on adventures. The game was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS in August 2013. A PC version of Toy Box was also released on November 14, 2013. The second edition, Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, was released on September 23, 2014.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is slated to release in 2015 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC.

Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a small Michael Jackson / Captain EO action figure to play video games with? Let’s cross our fingers!

Paris Jackson’s Touching Twitter Tribute To Her Dad, Michael Jackson. 26-06-'15

Paris JacksonParis Jackson keeps impressing and being a mensch even with crazy tabloid stories of her impending “wedding” or “pregnancy.” How she stays sane is a miracle.

Yesterday the 17 year posted two Tweets on the 6th anniversary of the death of her dad, Michael Jackson. The Tweets were read to me by one of her followers. One read: “this is the day I lost you. I know you’re in a better place now but I miss you so much. I just want you to know I love you so much”.

The other read: “I still remember that goodbye hug he gave me before he left for rehearsal”.

Michael Jackson did something right with his three kids. Everyone made fun of him for putting them in masks, etc. But the kids are all right. Prince is going to college in the fall, Blanket has changed his name to “Bigi.” This is Paris’s last year of high school– she’s a musician and an artist and very stylish. She’s going to do fine.

The Estate Remembers Michael Jackson. 25-06-'15

“Michael Jackson lives on in the hearts of millions, not just for his unmatched talent and artistry but for his optimistic spirit of kindness, warmth and caring that is sorely missed today. In a world numbed by senseless acts of violence, hatred and needless suffering, we remember and honor Michael’s optimistic passion in spreading universal messages of peace, unity, healing and love to every part of the earth during the all-too brief time he was with us.

On this day, our thoughts and prayers are especially with Michael’s children and loved ones as we honor his legacy of compassion and determination that all of us can make a better world without hurt, fear and sorrow.”

Michael Jackson Is Remembered And Loved Six Years Later. 25-06-'15

Although it’s hard to believe it’s been six years, it’s soothing, heart breaking and life affirming all at once to see how the love for Michael Jackson is as present as it was on the day we lost him. As Michael once said, “My fans truly are a part of me. We share something that most people will never experience.” After his death, we continue to share our passion and love for Michael with each other.

Every year on the anniversary of his death Hannah Kozak make her way to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California, and walk slowly amidst a sea of love of homemade cards, stuffed animals, drawings, paintings, sunflowers, roses and handmade books from all over the globe. Hannah see these offerings as proof. Proof there is love in every corner of the world from Japan to Korea, Italy to Germany to Poland as the fans pay their respects to the man, the man in the mirror who simply wanted to spread messages of love and tolerance, of forgiveness and kindness and of healing the world. When Michael sang, “Another Part of Me”, he was light years ahead in terms of consciousness. With his raised consciousness he acted with fearless integrity and understood the essence of this era: Recognize the other person is you.

One Rose for Michael Jackson raised 15,537 roses this year. Seeing all the roses donated from fans around the world moves me to tears as I am enveloped in the sea of love of thousands of roses. And it keeps growing. The first year Robyn Starkand’s team raised 3,000 roses, then 4,500 then 10,000, and now more than 15,000. Every year, all the roses are donated to various charities after June 25.

Jermaine Jackson arrived, greeting the fans with a tremendous amount of care and love with real hugs and handshakes. It took him awhile to get through as he gently took his time speaking to the fans. “Thank you for coming. It’s very tough. I feel like the moment I did when I did the announcement for his passing. You make it easy for me because it’s the love and the support.” He spoke and became emotional, unable to hold back his tears. All the love and support from the fans seems truly important to him.

Michael JacksonMichael Jackson 6 Years After Death Estate Generated $2 Billion. 25-06-'15

Michael Jackson died 6 years ago today, and TMZ has learned his estate went from the brink of bankruptcy to financial fortune ... and his kids are now better off than their famous dad.

Sources familiar with the financial's tell TMZ, the estate has grossed nearly $2 billion since MJ's death. The money comes from the movies "This is It," the Cirque show "Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour," 50 million albums sold and various other ventures.

After expenses, that $2 billion gets whittled down to around $800 million -- which is a very good return.

But the $800 million gets significantly cut by taxes ... we're told to around $450 million.

MJ's debts at the time of his death were around $500 million, so just on those 2 numbers the estate approaches being in the black.

But there are other ventures, like Sony, where the estate generates a lot of cash.

As for Michael's kids, there's a trust where millions gets distributed as they get older.

Our sources familiar with the financial's tell TMZ ... if the estate were completely liquidated today, each kid would get around $100 million.

Not a bad bounce back from the edge of bankruptcy.

MJ MonumentStreet Of Dreams Project Keeps Jackson Legacy Alive In Gary. 25-06-'15

Today marked six years since the unexpected death of Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, whose infectious music and polarizing fame reverberated across the globe.

But before he became famous as the pint-sized frontman of the Jackson 5, he was the third youngest of nine Jackson children raised in a small, two-bedroom, white frame house at 2300 Jackson Street in Gary.

"I just wonder how did they fit all of those kids in there," said Fredericksburg, Virginia, resident Caterah Mayfield, who was visiting Tuesday with her mom, sister and cousin.

Mayfield's mom, Courtney Parker, said Jackson's death — of cardiac arrest at age 50 — is still shocking.

"I can't believe he's gone," Parker said. "It was just like Whitney (Houston); they're gone too soon."

The house has become a draw for Jackson's fans, who flock to it to leave flowers and teddy bears around the anniversary of his death or to write a message on the One Way sign at the corner. In 2009, thousands of fans paying tribute trampled the grass, but since installing a granite monument to Jackson in the front yard, it has been fenced off, and beautiful flowers are in bloom every summer.

The family is helping to revitalize the neighborhood by purchasing and renovating the house next door to 2300 Jackson and another home across the street, Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson told the Post-Tribune (http://trib.in/1fF96OK ). The house next door is now a small museum/gift shop that the family is expected to open soon.

They've supported the Jackson Street of Dreams project that has rehabilitated two homes and rebuilt another house in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Jackson Street. The project is being led by the Fuller Center for Housing in Gary, with assistance from the city, the Indiana Department of Correction, NIPSCO, Centier Bank and others. The Fuller Center has a goal of rebuilding eight additional homes in the neighborhood in 2016, but they are currently working to secure the necessary funds.

Street Of Dreams Project

The Jackson Street of Dreams project is being led by Fuller Center for Housing in Gary (September 14th, 2014).

"We are exploring the next steps to see who may be willing to fund rehabbing some other homes," Freeman-Wilson said.

Robin Copeland, who lives in the neighborhood, said it's fun to chat with visitors and take pictures for them. She's hopeful that the Street of Dreams project will help the neighborhood thrive.

"It'll be a good thing for Gary and it will help the neighborhood look way better," Copeland said.

But beyond the house and an annual Michael Jackson festival in August, there aren't many signs marking Jackson's impact around the city.

Even before Jackson's death, there was talk about the city having a museum or performing arts center to memorialize arguably its most famous son. Jackson mentioned the performing arts center idea when he last visited Gary in 2003, but talks stalled when he was charged with child molestation soon afterward in California.

Jackson's father, Joe, was in talks with developers about a possible museum and hotel near Grant Street and the Borman Expressway. But those plans never went much of anywhere either.

Freeman-Wilson said the city hasn't been actively involved about bringing a Michael Jackson museum to Gary because "that's not a project the city can undertake." But a private entity did speak to her a few years ago about a Jackson-related project, she said.

"But whenever we would ask, 'What's the involvement of the Jackson family?' nobody seemed to know the answer," Freeman-Wilson said. "By that time I had developed a rapport with Mrs. (Katherine) Jackson, and I found that the family hadn't been consulted, so I knew not to take these people seriously."

These Photos Of Michael Jackson From The 70's Have Never Been Published Before. 25-06-'15

“There are a lot of pictures I never published because they’re for me, [they’re] something personal, something I’m attached to,” Alix Dejean tells TIME.

The Haitian-born photographer, who has been a fixture in New York City’s music scene for more decades than he wants you to know, began photographing the Jackson family in the mid-1970's, at a time when the Jacksonmania was in full swing and when Michael Jackson was starting his solo career. Dejean, who was already well-known for photographing the likes of Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin, swiftly developed a relationship with the Jackson family after being introduced to Michael by Mamadou Johnny Sekka, director of Jackson 5 in Africa, at the film’s premiere.

At that time, record labels hired Dejean to shoot the rockstars, but he cherished the moments in between, when he looked for the raw emotions – Michael quietly anticipating a show in his dressing room, an excited glance from Rebbie while her microphone is being fixed, the intense stare of Joe Jackson caught off guard — because nobody catches Joe Jackson off guard.

Dejean was closer to Michael than any of the other Jacksons, he says, which allowed him the unique opportunity to capture a subtle, human view of the future King of Pop during his formative years. “I had a lot of admiration for Michael,” Dejean says, “I loved him.”

Dejean has self-published more than 40 photographic anthologies with pictures of James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Barry White, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Al Sharpton, to name a few. His work, though little-known outside his sphere of influence, has become “an archive of black history in America,” he says, including “musicians, politicians, famous and infamous.”

Michael Jackson (1970)

A young Michael Jackson sits in a hotel room in New York City in the 1970's.

As the music scene evolved, Dejean rode its current, photographing Jay Z and Diddy (back when he was Puffy). But now, he’s moving on. “[Photographing] superstars is a boring life,” he says, “[I] leave them for the new generation of photographers.” Instead, Dejean has immersed himself in the Harlem club scene, glorifying everyday people as he once did Michael and cherishing the excitement that still resides in that neighborhood.

Although he is extremely critical of young photographers — who, he says, let the computer take the picture — Dejean has developed an unlikely bond with Nathan Bajar, an emerging documentary photographer. The two met while Bajar was working at a color printing studio in New York City. Bajar is now helping Dejean promote his new book, Jackson: The Dynasty, while the more experienced photographer passes down his wisdom.

Rather than high-profile celebrities, Bajar’s work focuses on capturing intimate moments of Dejean’s elusive life. “Nobody takes my picture,” Dejean says. “But with him I’m relaxed. I feel [that I can be] behind the camera and in front.”

The Story Behind The Photo - Michael Meets Janelle Penny Commissiong At The Hilton Hotel. 25-06-'15

Mark Lyndersay said, when I took this photograph in a small meeting room at the Trinidad Hilton in February 1978, I’d been taking photographs for just a couple of years, mostly snapshots to accompany my first stories for the press. I’d managed to get into it through my cousin Alfred Aguiton, whose PR firm AMPLE was handling the press relations for the Jacksons visit to T&T.

Michael Jackson had already had one entire career by then, and was on the verge of launching another, steering clear of his brothers and Epic Records to chart his own path as a solo artist.

Janelle “Penny” Commissiong, freshly crowned Miss Universe, was staying at the hotel and was invited down to meet the performers.

So for around a half an hour, the most beautiful woman in the universe, the King of Pop and I were all in the same room and I was the only one with a camera.

The resulting photographs changed my life, and I became known as a photographer after that. I wrote a story about the Jacksons’ visit for Owen Baptiste’s People Magazine, learned some hard lessons about negotiating for the value of my photographs from the Epic Records PR team and for the first time, my photographs were published internationally.

I still have the negatives from that shoot, along with all the positives.

Captain EOCaptain EO Could Be Coming To Disney Infinity. 24-06-'15

I still haven’t gotten into Disney’s popular collectible toy video game platform Disney Infinity, despite the fact I own four Disney Infinity figures (hey, they just look cool). Disney is gearing up to launch the third version of the game platform which will include Star Wars, Inside Out and more, and now we are hearing the future could feature another George Lucas property.

No, not Indiana Jones (not yet at least, although a Indy-focused Disney Infinity set is bound to happen eventually), but instead the George Lucas-produced Francis Ford Coppola-directed Disneyland 3D short film 'Captain EO' which starred Michael Jackson and Anjelica Huston. But will Disney actually release 'Captain EO' Disney Infinity content? Find out the details after the jump.

The 3D sci-fi short film has been a favorite of 1980’s Disney fanatics. Shown at Disney theme parks from 1986 through 1996, the short returned as a tribute following the Jackson’s death, from 2010 to 2015. And now it looks like 'Captain EO' might live on inside the digital toy box of Disney Infinity.

Infinity VP John Vignocchi recently confirmed that he has secured the approval of Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, and the Jackson estate to produce some kind of Captain EO content inside Disney Infinity.

Now I don’t think 'Captain EO' holds enough recognition with today’s youth to have its own set, but you never know. I’d love to get my hands on Fuzzball and Hooter Disney Infinity figures.

The 17-minute film cost a record $17 million in 1986 ($35 million adjusted for inflation), which minute for minute was the most expensive motion picture of all time. Steven Spielberg was originally signed on to direct the movie but had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts with his other film projects. The film opened in Epcot and Disneyland in mid-September 1986, Tokyo Disneyland in March 1987, and Disneyland Paris in 1992. The action on the screen was recreated for the live audience using lasers, laser impacts, smoke effects, and starfields that filled the theater. The presentation was replaced by Honey I Shrunk the Audience, another live interaction 3D short.

The story followed 'Captain EO' and his rugged ragtag crew who went on a mission to deliver a special gift to a wicked queen (played by Anjelica Huston) who lives on a dark, desolate world. 'Captain EO' can be found online on many of the video sharing websites. The film featured two songs, 'We Are Here To Change The World' and 'Another Part Pf Me' by Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson’s Balloon Samba Carnival Ride Will Be At The Nevada County Fair. 23-06-'15

The Nevada County Fair, which opens on Wednesday, will feature a ride purchased from Michael Jackson’s infamous Neverland Ranch amusement park. Butler Amusements purchased the ride, along with five others from Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, last September. Little-Seen Michael Jackson Mural Will Resurface At Valley Museum. 19-06-'15

The Museum of the San Fernando Valley will debut an exhibit on Friday displaying elements of a little-seen 10-story-tall Michael Jackson mural painted by Kent Twitchell.

Twitchell painted his ode to the pop star in the early ‘90s. The mural was planned for the side of the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, but it never was installed. In 1993, around the time Jackson was accused of child molestation, the installation was put on hold.

The 100-foot-tall, 60-foot-wide portrait was shown at a downtown L.A. gallery exhibition, "Thriller: The King of Pop Meets the King of Cool, Exploring the Lost Works of Kent Twitchell," in 2009. But the portrait has largely remained in storage.

Scott Sterling, president of the museum, is in discussions with Twitchell and the Courtyard by Marriott in Sherman Oaks about having the mural installed on the east side of the hotel facing the 405 freeway. Sterling estimates the project will cost upward of $200,000.

Kent Twitchell

In this 2009 photo, artist Kent Twitchell sits with panels that make up his Michael Jackson mural.

Funds from the exhibition, for which the museum is asking a $10 donation, will go toward mural installation, which Sterling says "will advance art and culture in the Valley."

The exhibition, "Kent Twitchell's Incredible Mural of Michael Jackson," includes pieces of the artwork as well as face studies that Twitchell painted of Jackson. A digital rendering shows what the final mural might look like on the side of the hotel.

"This could be the beginning of many murals on many buildings in the San Fernando Valley,” Sterling says. “And bringing people here internationally who are fans of Michael Jackson. I’d like to see the economy boost through art, culture and appreciation for where we live. The Valley has an important entertainment history — and this mural would just boost it."

The exhibitions opens Friday, from 6 to 10 p.m., and runs through Sept. 1 at Museum of the San Fernando Valley, 18860 Nordhoff St. No. 204, Northridge.

20 Years Later, 20 Things You May Not Have Known About Michael Jackson's 'HIStory'. 16-06-'15

HIStoryBy 1995, Michael Jackson had people talking more than ever, but not just about his music. The King of Pop had endured a rough stretch since his previous album, 1991's 'Dangerous', and public scrutiny about his eccentric lifestyle had given way to allegations of sexual abuse starting in 1993.

That historical context makes 'HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I' all the more interesting, because the double album served as both a response to the scandal – the new material is among Jackson's most personal ever – and a reminder of his professional accomplishments prior to the scandal; half of 'HIStory' features hits from 'Billie Jean' to 'Heal the World.'

The album first hit shelves on June 20, 1995, and we have taken the occasion to collect 20 'HIStory' trivia items that the casual Michael Jackson fan may not know.

1. It's one of the best-selling double albums ever.
2. There really was a Michael Jackson statue.
3. 'Scream' is reportedly the most expensive music video ever made.

Shamone'Shamone 2015' La Culture Festival Celebrates Michael. 15-06-'15

The LA Culture Festival is an annual cultural festival that brings awareness to global challenges and raises money for qualifying non-profit organisations. It’s an explosion of cultural fusion representing our rich and diverse society; a celebration as one world and one people. It features colourful costumes, dances, food, arts and crafts, and music from around the world. Expect a full day of festivities with a parade on the world famous Hollywood Boulevard.

On Saturday June 27, 2015 at 11.00 am, the Boulevard will be miraculously transformed into a grand carnival and street extravaganza. Tying in with what the festival is all about, this year it will be honouring Michael Jackson by paying tribute to him with their ‘We Are The World’ float. Fans from all over the world can come together during MJ Week, celebrate the event, and celebrate Michael and everything he stood for.
