Grammys Upload Michael Winning In 1984. 29-02-'20

The official Grammy YouTube channel and website has uploaded a video of Michael charmingly accepting one of his record breaking number of Grammy Awards on February 28th, 1984.

This is the first time it's been shared in 1080p quality. The video shows the 'King of Pop' winning his Best Pop Vocal Performance award, which was also the moment he brought his sisters Janet, LaToya and Rebbie on stage to help him celebrate.

For his 'Best Vocal Performance' award, Michael thanked Quincy Jones, his family, and Steven Spielberg. He then told the audience that he'd made a promise that if he won a seventh award ("which is this one"), he'd take off his shades…and he delivered on that promise.

That year Michael received 8 Grammys in the categories: Album Of The Year ('Thriller'), Best Pop Male Vocal ('Thriller'), Record Of The Year ('Beat It'), Best Rock Male Vocal ('Beat It'), Best R&B Male Vocal ('Billie Jean'), Best New Song Of The Year ('Billie Jean'), Producer Of The Year (with Quincy Jones) and Best Children's Recording ('E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial' with narration by Michael Jackson.

The Too Bad Awards 2020. 29-02-'20

Fans of the 'King of Pop' discover today that a website called toobadawards.com has just appeared in order to propose that each year, fans and internet users at large, will have the opportunity to vote to designate the people, organizations or societies to whom they wish to say "Leave Michael Jackson alone!".

For the people behind this project, the media treatment of Michael Jackson shows the excesses of the system. With these awards, they want to educate internet users, with humor and style, about the need to question what they see on television.

On this occasion, they chose for this award, to offer a representation of Michael Jackson surrounded by a winged woman. The pose of the characters is inspired by a live performance by Michael Jackson in 1993 where he interpreted 'Will You Be There'. We can read in the presentation of the organizers on this subject: "We found this moment very strong: a winged woman, like the Egyptian goddess of truth and justice Maat, protected him."

Too Bad Awards 2020
Too Bad Awards 2020 is translated into English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.

For the organizers, who can be found among the MICHAELzine team that you certainly know, these 'Too Bad Awards' are not awards but rather anti-awards like the Razzie Awards in Quebec or the Gérards television and cinema in France. For them, nominating or awarding someone will never be a call to hate. They simply denounce with the sole ambition; that internet users will uncover, through their votes, the lies and defamations against Michael Jackson.

The more voters there are, the more legitimate the awards will be. This is why everything is translated into English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.

Voting takes place here from today until March 9, 2020.

You will be able to vote for the worst journalist, the worst television program in 2019, the worst trash media of 2019, the worst jacket rollover, the worst intellectual dishonesty, the biggest lie and finally for the 2019 super-mythomaniac.

A video presentation is visible on YouTube or below.

Bigi JacksonBigi Jackson Nabs Calabasas Starter House. 28-02-'20

It's hard to believe, but Prince Michael "Bigi" Jackson is now all grown up. Michael Jackson's youngest child — perhaps still best-known by his childhood nickname "Blanket" — is a legal adult with his own YouTube channel, Film Family, posting film reviews with his brother. He's also following in his older siblings' real estate footsteps, having recently shelled out more than $2.6 million for a starter house with plenty of room to grow.

Tucked away within one of Calabasas' many 24/7 guard-gated communities and additionally protected by a vigilant security patrol, the new Jackson estate has nearly 6,400 square feet of living space with six bedrooms and an ample 7.5 baths. Built in 1990 but extensively renovated since, the vaguely Mediterranean-style house additionally offers a three-car attached garage, three fireplaces and manicured grassy lawns front and rear.

A custom glass-and-wrought iron front door opens into a double-height foyer guaranteed to impress guests. An elegantly curved, carpeted staircase leads past a crystal chandelier to the home's upper level, where there are four large bedrooms — all of them with en-suite baths. The master bedroom sports wall-to-wall beige carpeting, dual spa-style baths with beige tile, steam showers and built-in soaking tub, and a petite "gym area", per the listing.

Back downstairs, most of the public rooms impress with elegant hardwood floors, and the oversized living room includes another crystal chandelier, a coffered ceiling and heavy gold drapes for a wee touch of royalty in the San Fernando Valley. There's also a formal dining room, a butler's pantry, a family room with wet bar and a huge kitchen with dark-stained wood cabinetry, granite countertops and a full range of high-end stainless appliances.

Calabasas Starter House
Location: Calabasas, Calif. Price: $2.62 million. Size: 6,382 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms.

The backyard was partially redone by the home's previous owner, a non-famous woman, and now includes a large swimming pool and spa, a loggia for alfresco dining, a built-in BBQ area with bar-style seating and a spacious lawn. Mature trees and towering hedges surround most of the property, imbuing it with a park-like atmosphere.

It's no surprise that Jackson, despite his youth, can afford a house of this magnitude; the Michael Jackson estate is almost unbelievably flush with cash, having hauled in a hefty $1.7 billion in revenue over the past decade.

Some of Jackson's neighbors in his new guard-gated enclave include Dr. Dre, John Travolta, reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson, retired NBA star Al Harrington and lead O.J. Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark, who happens to live immediately next door.

Jackson, who was raised by his grandmother Katherine after his father's death, grew up in her much larger Calabasas estate in the nearby Estates at the Oaks enclave, bought for a then-record $10.75 million. He's the last of his siblings to buy a home — back in spring 2017, older sister Paris paid about $2 million for a large residence in the semi-remote Topanga Canyon wilderness. A few months later, older brother Michael Jackson Jr. shelled out a bit less than $2.2 million for a home in the posh seaside community of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., about an hour south of Calabasas.

HBO Seeks Dismissal Of Michael Jackson Estate's Suit Over 'Leaving Neverland'. 28-02-'20

HBOHBO urged an appeals court on Friday to throw out litigation brought by the Michael Jackson estate over the 2019 documentary 'Leaving Neverland'.

HBO and the Jackson estate have been locked in a legal war ever since the premium cable network agreed to run the documentary, which chronicles child sexual abuse allegations against Jackson.

The Jackson estate has argued that the two men featured in the documentary — Wade Robson and James Safechuck — fabricated their allegations for financial gain. The estate's lawyers could not sue for defamation, as Jackson is dead, but they dug up a contract from a 1992 HBO concert special from Jackson's Dangerous tour, which contained a non-disparagement clause.

The estate argued that the documentary constituted a breach of the 1992 agreement, and went to court seeking to compel arbitration. HBO countered that the estate was seeking to squelch free expression by invoking a clause from an irrelevant and long-expired contract.

But in September, U.S. District Judge George Wu sided with Jackson's estate and granted the motion for arbitration.

In an opening brief to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, HBO's attorney, Theodore Boutrous, urged the court to reverse Wu's ruling on the grounds that the contract had expired, and to order the case dismissed. He argued that HBO had aired the concert film — 'Live In Bucharest' — exactly once, and that neither side had operated as though the contract were still in effect over the subsequent 27 years.

He noted, for instance, that Jackson's attorneys had never updated the contact information for his attorneys and management firm, even though the attorneys no longer represent Jackson and the management firm no longer exists.

"In light of the contract as a whole, it would be unreasonable to interpret the non-disparagement sentence, which is collateral to the 1992 Agreement's principal objective of a one-time-only exhibition of 'Live In Bucharest' to mean that the parties intended for HBO to waive its right to disseminate newsworthy allegations about Mr. Jackson for all time on any topic," Boutrous wrote.

He also argued that the estate is essentially making a defamation claim, and trying to use the 1992 contract to get around the prohibition on bringing such claims on behalf of dead people.

"The petition in this case is a transparent effort to unlawfully punish 'would-be critics' of public figures like Mr. Jackson who 'may be deterred from voicing their criticism, even though it is believed to be true and even though it is in fact true,'" Boutrous wrote, quoting from the Supreme Court's decision in New York Times v. Sullivan, which sets a high bar for defamation claims against public figures.

The Jackson estate's response is due on March 30.

The Estate Of Michael Jackson
The Estate Of Michael Jackson

Jones VS MJJ Production Not Over Yet! 28-02-'20

The Estate is pressuring the California Appellate Court to cut the Quincy Jones Verdict of $9.4 Million!

To recall, Jones was rewarded the £9.4 Million in 2017 for his Royalty damages for his work on 'Off The Wall', 'Thriller' and 'Bad'.

The Estate's Attorney Zia Modabber from Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is arguing that Jones's interpretation of the contract for remixed recordings is not valid and conclude Jones was not owed anything for them at all.

It seems we are up for another long court battle again as the case was raised by Jones in 2017.

If the Estate does manage to get it through, this will mean they will be able to rework/remix/repackage the 3 albums without Jones's approval or say. (not to mention they will save $9.4 Million!)

When The Elvis Presley's Estate Upsets Michael Jackson Fans. 26-02-'20

Michael vs ElvisElvis Presley will forever be the 'King of Rock 'n Roll', but according to him -- or at least his estate -- Justin Bieber is the 'King of Pop', 21st century edition.

When Justin's new album, 'Changes', debuted at number one recently, it made him, at age 25, the youngest artist ever to score seven number-one albums. The previous record holder was Elvis, which is why his estate tweeted its congratulations Tuesday (February 25) to Justin on the chart achievement.

"Yesterday, music history was made. What does the 'King of Rock 'n Roll' have in common with the 21st century 'King of Pop'?" the Elvis account wrote, re-tweeting Justin's tweet about the chart stats. "Congratulations on setting a new record."

Today, Justin responded, "Thank you King and to the entire Presley family."

While it's only polite that Justin expressed gratitude for the compliment, fans are now complaining that nobody should dub Justin -- or anybody -- the 'King of Pop', regardless of century, because Michael Jackson is the only one who deserves that title.

Some fans got pretty heated about the tweet, with one writing, "It looks maniac by the Presley Estate to post horrendous crap like this."

Another one added, "You trying to strip a black man of his 'King of Pop' achievement and give it to a white guy during black history month? The caucasity!"

Still another summed it up by writing, "MJ been making great music till 50. Stardom and influence like no other. Choreography and artistry on a whole diff level compared to JB. Nothing against JB but they totally dropped the bar when it came to this young white artist who barely had to prove himself the way MJ did."

'The Definitive Collection' (Hi-Res CD (MQA x UHQCD) - Limited Edition) CD Album Is Re-Released.

The Definitive Collection (Hi-Res CD (MQA x UHQCD) - Limited Edition) [re-issue] CD Album Cover'The Definitive Collection' is a compilation album of Michael Jackson that will be reissued in Japan on February 26th, 2020 by Universal Music. The limited edition CD album in HQ definition, you need an MQA enabled DAC to hear the MQA files per se.

It is a 19-track collection of highlights from his Motown recordings, including the hits he had with his brothers in the Jackson 5. This emphasizes Michael's solo hits over the Jackson 5's -- there are ten cuts of him alone, nine with his brothers (and one of those is an alternate "minus mix" of 'I'll Be There') -- which skews this a little bit toward puppy love over bubblegum, something that may be a little too syrupy for some listeners, but there's no denying that for fans lacking a collection of Michael's earliest hits.

This definitive collection features original hit recordings including 'I Want You Back', 'ABC', 'I'll Be There', 'Got To Be There', 'Rockin' Robin', 'Ben', 'One Day In Your Life' and plus the much-talked about B-side, 'Who's Loving You' and a BONUS Minus mix of 'I'll Be There').

Track list:

1. I Want You Back - The Jackson 5 - 2:58

Michael Jackson Marriage 'Was My Attempt To Save Him,' Says Lisa Marie Presley. 21-02-'20

Lisa Marie PresleyLisa Marie Presley claimed that her marriage to Michael Jackson was her 'attempt to save him' in an unearthed interview from 2003.

The daughter of Elvis said that she was 'sucked in' by Jackson's 'poor me' persona and took it upon herself to try and turn his life around.

Lisa Marie revealed that Jackson was first in touch with her when she was a teenager but at the time she was in a relationship with Danny Keough, who would go on to be her first husband.

She claimed that she had no interest in Jackson at the time but years later a mutual friend put them back in touch.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Lisa Marie said: "He was very real with me off the bat.

"He immediately went into this whole explanation of what he knew people thought of him and what the truth was."

Lisa Marie said that Jackson's explanation had been persuasive: "You get sucked into the, 'You poor, misunderstood person, you…'I'm a sucker for that."

She went on to say that after her first conversation with him, her perception had changed as he was funny and full of swear words.

The different persona in public seemed to work for Jackson, with Lisa Marie saying: "I think it worked for him to manipulate that image for a little while.

"The hyperbaric chamber thing and all that monkey s*** and the elephant s***. It made him mysterious, and I think he thought that was cool. But then it backfired, like it always does."

The allegations of child abuse were to be made soon afterwards but Lisa Marie said that he was convincing in saying that it was an 'extortion attempt' and not something that had any base in fact.

She continued: "I believed him, because he was so convincing. I don't know... I just believed everything he said, for some reason."

Lisa Marie said that Jackson only allowed a few people to see the 'real him' and that he struggled to keep up the persona.

She continued: "But when you do… He didn't get where he is because he's an idiot. You see a real person who's very much the opposite of what he was presenting."

She married Jackson in 1994, amid the allegations by Jordan Chandler about sexual abuse, which was settled out of court with Jackson flexing his financial muscle.

Lisa Marie began to think that she would be the one to help him through this. She recalled: "I got into this whole, 'I'm going to save you' thing.

"I thought all that stuff he was doing - philanthropy and the children thing and all this stuff - was awesome, and maybe we could save the world together."

She then added: "OK. Hello. I was delusionary. I got some romantic idea in my head that I could save him and we could save the world."

Lisa Marie split from Jackson in 1996, citing irreconcilable differences in their divorce but she claims that there was nothing that she saw that suggested he had been abusing children.

She said: "Otherwise I would have been the first one out there going, 'You motherf*****', I've got children. But I never saw anything like that."

Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch Has Been Pulled Off The Market. 18-02-'20

Michael Jackson's famed Neverland Ranch has been pulled off the market after almost five years of price cuts, renovations, and a new name, Compass confirmed to Business Insider.

The rebranded Sycamore Valley Ranch was last asking $31 million – less than a third of its original asking price.
Jackson's former ranch boasts a 12,598-square-foot main residence, two guest houses, a lake, a 50-seat movie theater, and a Disney-themed train station.

The seller declined Business Insider's request for comment on whether they were planning on relisting the ranch.

Originally listed for $100 million in 2015 under a new identity as Sycamore Valley Ranch, the ranch was discounted to $67 million two years later, and then relisted again for $31 million in 2019.

National Rhythm & Blues Hall Of Fame Museum
Michael Jackson's Neverland Valley Ranch – 5225 Figueroa Mountain Road, Los Olivos, California.

The 2,700-acre property in Los Olivos, California, where Jackson lived for more than 15 years, includes a French-Normandy style main residence, two guest houses, a lake, a 50-seat movie theater, a 14-foot lagoon-style pool, a dance studio, barns, staff facilities, and a Disney-themed train station.

Kyle Forsyth of Compass, one of the former listing agents for the ranch, told Business Insider that the agents representing the ranch found interested potential buyers, but no deal could be reached with the seller, Colony Capital.

Colony Capital, the private investment firm that manages the ranch, "has not re-listed and recent inquiries for showings have been declined or gone unanswered," Forsyth said. Colony Capital declined Business Insider's request for comment for this story.

Jackson, who bought the property for $19.5 million in 1987, defaulted on a loan after financial hardships and entered Neverland into an ownership agreement with Colony Capital in 2008 for $23 million, according to ABC News.

Taj JacksonTaj Jackson's Update On His Documentary. 18-02-'20

Taj Jackson just updated his GoFundMe page with the following:

Here to clear up some minor confusion.

The project will DEFINITELY cover the allegations. What I promised in 2019, will still be covered. 🙂
That was the main reason why I first wanted to do this way back in 2009.
Without addressing these rumors and allegations, my uncle's name and legacy will never be COMPLETELY cleared.

The media's constant lies, bullying and 30+ year attack on Michael Jackson and his name will also be heavily addressed. The public has been subconsciously brainwashed for decades on "Wacko Jacko" and "Weirdo" and "Freak" headlines. This stops now. Time to hold the main culprits accountable and expose them and their hatred.

In Holland I said during the Square One Q&A that the project had taken a slightly different tone since last update. This is true. Originally it was just about exposing and attacking the lies. However I have also decided to focus on "what Michael Jackson was really like" and "how all these lies affected him."

That by no means meant that I was abandoning my original idea. Both need to exist to get the whole picture of Michael Jackson and to more importantly HUMANIZE him.
I also will be including some of his major charity work and humanitarianism. Which I believe is his true long lasting legacy.

One more thing….
Let me address production and distribution.
I would like nothing more to have a big distributor like a Netlix. That has ALWAYS been the plan. To have as many people see this as possible and for it to come out this year.
What I don't want to do however is hand over control too early and the project turns out completely different than our goal. We all saw what happened with the Martin Bashir documentary and that originally was suppose to be a positive piece.
I really don't trust words coming from the industry anymore. And neither would you if you knew all the behind the scenes drama and politics that we are dealing with daily. This is a chess game. In some small way I now know the crap my uncle had to deal with throughout his life.

In closing…
I am 200 percent committed to this project and fighting for THE TRUTH. If you truly knew how much I love and respect my uncle, you would understand. I just want to do right by him and make him proud.

That being said… I am always listening and thankful for all the info you guys send and share with me. Although I know 95 percent of it, sometimes I don't and I want to cover all bases.

2020 is our year so let's keep the faith.
And remember this is a marathon, and we will win it.

Esquire Magazine CoverMacaulay Culkin Defends Michael In Esquire Cover Story. 11-02-'20

Macaulay Culkin opens up about his close friendship with Michael Jackson in Esquire's latest cover story.

"He never did anything to me. I never saw him do anything. And especially at this flashpoint in time, I'd have no reason to hold anything back," the 'Home Alone' star tells the magazine.

"The guy has passed on. If anything — I'm not gonna say it would be stylish or anything like that, but right now is a good time to speak up. And if I had something to speak up about, I would totally do it. But no, I never saw anything."

Fellow movie stars have also asked him. When he recently ran into James Franco on a plane, "It was right after the documentary 'Leaving Neverland' came out, and he goes, 'So, that documentary!' … I was like, 'Uh-huh'. Silence. So then he goes, 'So what do you think?' And I turned to him and I go, 'Do you wanna talk about your dead friend?' And he sheepishly went, 'No, I don't.' So I said, 'Cool, man, it was nice to see you.'"
