Rob Swinson Is Auctioning His Michael Jackson Items. 06-04-'21

Jackson family sibling rivalry still lives on. Saturday May 15th, 2021, Important memorabilia once owned and worn by the 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson, sells at auction in the Midwest. Competing live simultaneously the same day with Michael's memorabilia sells the same weekend as a West coast auction of items owned by Michael's sister, Janet, the 'Queen of Pop'.

The Michael Jackson offering of over 100 lots, comes from the private collection of Robert "Rob" Swinson. It includes numerous iconic stage worn costumes like the sequined jacket and glove from 'Billie Jean'. Or signed fedoras like the one worn during the filming of the video 'Black Or White'. Michael's stage moves have become legendary and various pairs of loafers that Jackson wore during those performances were worn while dancing and moonwalking.

It was Swinson that was instrumental in creating Jackson's Neverland Valley Amusement Park, and Jackson often referred to Swinson as his "Maker of dreams". When asked why he was selling his collection, Swinson stated, "Building Michael's Neverland and being his friend was a wonderful moment in my life. I've greatly enjoyed the pieces he gave me and the memories I shared with him, but it's time to let others cherish these items as much as I have."

The Michael Jackson offering of over 100 lots, comes from the private collection of Robert "Rob" Swinson.

The Midwest event featuring Michael Jackson's pieces is being conducted by Rich Penn Auctions, a company well known throughout the country. For over 20 years Penn has been selling high quality antiques & memorabilia related to advertising, gaming and entertainment. When asked about the coincidence of the two auctions, Rich Penn, Founder and President observed: "Our auction has been in planning for many months. The irony is amusing, given that these two sibling entertainers competed against each other for so many years." He then added, "Memorabilia from Michael will be crossing the block here in Iowa, while at the same time pieces belonging to his sister Janet will be selling in California." When asked if he thought the other auction would be competition, "We have a great collection to be sold. I'm confident that the Michael Jackson enthusiasts will be very supportive, infact we already have several thousand fans registered from over 30 countries across the planet. They are already bidding," said Rich, "and I know our auction will be every bit as successful and exciting as one of Micheal's live performances!"

Marlon Jackson Reveals Star Wore 'Disguises' And Says Life Was 'Very Difficult' For Him. 06-04-'21

Marlon JacksonMarlon Jackson said he once spotted his sibling in a record store 'dressed as a bum'.

Michael Jackson’s brother Marlon has revealed that the late star used to wear unusual disguises to avoid being recognised in public.

Marlon, who is one of Jackson's eight siblings and a member of the Jackson 5, said it was impossible for any of the family to lead a normal life – especially Michael.

He told The Guardian: "Michael had painted himself into a box. And it was difficult for him. Very difficult for him. It's mind-boggling. If Michael just stepped outside, in a couple of seconds people would stop doing what they are doing. That's why he started wearing disguises."

Revealing he once spotted Michael in a record store, he added: "I walked up behind him and whispered in his ear: 'Michael, what you doing here?' He was dressed as a bum. His clothes were dirty, he had bucked teeth, he had an afro, his shoes were dirty, his shirt was torn, but he's buying all these excellent records.

"I said to him: 'Another thing gave you away, Michael, you wear the same shoes all the time!' They were the same loafers he wore on stage."

Elsewhere in the interview, the Jackson siblings claimed their father, Joseph, made them move bricks around the back garden to keep them out of gangs, and they discussed their grief over losing Michael 12 years on.

Michael died aged 50 from cardiac arrest after a drug overdose. His doctor, Conrad Murray, who had prescribed the drugs, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011.

"Every time I go into Vegas on the bus I see Michael next to me," Jackie Jackson said. "His whole face is parked next to me on a billboard. I stop at a light and I say: 'What's going on, brother?'"

The siblings refused to discuss the allegations of sexual abuse against Michael. In June 2005, the star was acquitted on all charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old boy.

In the 2019 documentary 'Leaving Neverland', two men alleged they had been sexually abused as children by Michael, including Wade Robson, who had testified in the singer's defence at his trial.

The Jackson estate has denied those claims and publicly denounced the documentary.

Michael Jackson: A Faking It Special'Michael Jackson: A Faking It Special' On Discovery+. 01-04-'21

A new documentary will be released on April 24 by Discovery+ as part of their 'Faking It' series.

Dropping onto discovery+ from April onwards, the 60 minute special will follow experts in body language, linguistics and forensic psychology as they examine footage and interviews of Jackson, homing in on the micro-gestures, flinches and vocal fumbles that potentially signpost their guilt.

Across the special, body language expert Dr Cliff Lansley, Professor of Linguistics Dawn Archer and Forensic Psychologist Kerry Daynes will meticulously analyse and pull out the potential tell-tale signs of deception captured on footage for each case. Whether it’s the shrug of the shoulder, the slip of the tongue or clues in their psychological profile, the three experts will add to the conversation and ask, are they faking it?

Before his death in 2009, Michael Jackson was the biggest pop star on the planet. From leading the Jackson 5 as an 8-year-old singing sensation to forging his own glittering solo career, Jackson earned himself the title of the ‘King of Pop.’ But for more than 20 years, Jackson’s private life was marred by dark rumours and allegations. On two occasions, Jackson was accused of child sex abuse but never found guilty. More than a decade after his death, allegations against Jackson persist.

Now, in 'Michael Jackson: A Faking It Special', using footage and interviews of Jackson and his family, experts in body language, speech and forensic psychology will controversially debate over the big question: was Jackson ‘faking it’ when he was on camera?

Clare Laycock, senior VP and head of lifestyle and entertainment brands at Discovery UK and Ireland, said: “Following the successes we have seen in the Faking It: Tears of a Crime franchise in the last year, I am delighted to be working with Shearwater once again for another captivating series and three more specials. Michael Jackson is one of the most revered yet controversial figures in modern popular culture and putting his profile and checkered history under the microscope signposts another exciting chapter in the Faking It: Tears of a Crime journey!”

Our Take - Fantastic, they're throwing MJ in the mix with the likes of Ted Bundy and Chris Watts. What will come of this? Is this co-ordinated attack just the beginning for this year? I'm sure those of you who are good at digging will find there are more people involved in this than this article lets on.

What do we need to be asking? We need to be asking Discovery why they're not having these so-called experts examining the copious amounts of wrongful blips by Robson and Safechuck.
